- Why is there so much chaos and suffering around us? How did God’s perfectly created world come to be so broken down? Like Adam and Eve, we turn our backs on God whenever we exchange His truth for the devil’s lies. Yet while God has given the unrepentant over to their idols, He has also provided an escape from judgment through Christ. Alistair Begg urges that instead of becoming calloused to sin, Christians are to imitate Jesus, shining the light of the Gospel into a dark, bewildering world.

I've come to recognize that what the world says is fun, or will bring satisfaction, instead brings misery and enslavement. How many people watching this video can testify that if they would have just remained 100% obedient to God's Word, HIS principles, HIS precepts, and never strayed, their lives would be filled with peace and they would be free from snags, snares, and distressing complications? Of course, no one can actually do that, but God gives us HIS instruction for a reason. Thanks be to God that HE disciplines HIS children so that they will NOT be ensnared and held captive by the deceit and practices of this evil world. We are living now in a time much reminiscent of first century Rome.

The author of Hebrews does say that there is pleasure in sin for a time (11:25). But Moses recognized that this pleasure wad fleeting, and that the land which God promised was far better, even if there would.be great struggle to get there.

@@shawnhembree4145 It's hard to imagine this not being the case. Contrary to what our 21st century American church generally says, sanctification and holiness are not painless and not without cost.

I just get frustrated when Christians pule up c9mm3nts and praise for men. Alistair ment ioned us making idols. I find it very iroic that all this heeping of praise onto men. It just showes how wrak us christians are. Like, instead of commenting on the topic and exploring the scriptute or talking about what we will DO about the topic, we reflexively worship the man bringing the message. Thats whay im getting at. Jusy look down yhis list of comments. All praise to alistair and no c9nversations about the scripture. To me, its wht this culture has changed to begin with. Sloppy exposition of the scripture (certainly not alistair but in general), chirsitand not reafing or studying for themselves, too many christians worshiping their pastors (or going the conplete other way by bashi g them), lack of guts in the marketplace, and no evangelism. Our weakness is evidenced by this man worship we engage in. Give credit where do (it was nicely done), but to me, it exposes Christians in this weakness.
Dear God, forgive me for building idols in my own heart - that seat where Jesus Christ alone deserves to sit and reign. Without you I am utterly bankrupt - restore unto me the joy of your salvation - not just today, but moment by moment trusting you alone, Jesus, for your righteousness. Bless all those who hear this message and by your grace may your Spirit shower us with conviction. You alone are to receive all of the honor and glory. Amen

This man is reading words out of a book written by another man 2000 years ago! Then he prays in front of the congregation of the people! Jesus said this kind of prayer is not heard from the Father in Heaven, because it is disobeying ths command of Jesus to pray in your closet after closing the door behind you!

Are you speaking from jealousy or anger? What should it matter to you if he is worth $15 or $150 million? If he’s speaking the truth straight from the Word of God, it shouldn’t matter. It does show that you have completely missed the point of the sermon. Maybe focus on his words rather than your jealousy or anger.
I am a recent follower of Pastor Begg, at 68 years, I'm wondering how I could have missed him for so long. He's so engaging, so precise in his translation of the Word of God, he has helped me immensely in my understanding of my Bible. God's continued blessing on you and your loved ones, and thank you.

First time I’ve heard Alistair. I listen to about 20 Christian pastors a week. My daughter just told me that he did exchange teaching at Baylor while she was there. She is pregnant with her fourth. At dinner last night ..Thanksgiving, a young un married couple spoke to me about there sexual issue in a casual, no shame way. I did not shame them but spoke of Gods plan for sex.. marriage. One partner. They had there excuses. I pray they will ponder what God spoke through me.

“… and their foolish heart was darkened” (Romans 1:21).
This is one of the most profoundly terrifying passages in scripture. It is basically saying (if you follow the context),that willfully denying something that you know to be true triggers a corruption of the ability to perform logic.
Even more terrifying are sister verses found in 2 Thessalonians 2:11, 12, which are echoes of Isaiah 66:4.
Don’t lie. Especially to yourself. God’s judgement may make you believe your own lie! The Truth is your only way out-
“Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.” (John 18:37)

Our society seems blinded to the fact that "tolerance" is about tolerance of all wickedness and sin, and the more Satan twists our perspective and distorts it, the more we begin to see evil as good, and the good of God's Word as evil.
I lived the lie of homosexuality for 12 years. Jesus forgives!! He fulfills the empty voids!!
I've learned alot from this sermon, eventhough I've been dealing with Romans 1 lately. Romans 1 is one of the first Chapters I talk about to people who want to discuss my faith with me. They are impressed by what has been stated in the Bible so long ago and can be applied to our societies today.
History reveals Romans 1 not only in our society today. Many civilizations and empires have been erased after promoting sexual immoraltiy. Our society isn't doing any better right now. Western societies are under judgement of God IMHO. It is very important to speak up and "not be ashamed of the Gospel".

My need for God grows every day, and any distance between us is due to my own choices, the sin I refuse to acknowledge and the hardness of heart I have developed. Thank you for your honesty in preaching God's Word that I might hear and they I might accept the grace and mercy of a loving Father in heaven who sent an equally loving son to pay the penalty for my error and my sin.

Hi Alistair, as a fellow Scot, thank you for addressing the issues here. The evil being done to children here is a shame to the country admittedly, but of course we're not unique in it. But we are spearheading the way to iniquitous crimes regarding children deserving of total death forever in the depths of the pit.
I've been following Pastor Begg between 20-25 years. Unfortunately there are too many pastors that are fearful of preaching the Word as it ought to be preached because they are afraid of offending their flock. They prefer to expand their membership by offering new classes for kids and watering down the Gospel. John MacArthur had it right back in the late 80's when he wrote "The Gospel According to Jesus Christ". Not so with Pastor Begg. He tackles these issues with a loving yet straightforward approach. That is the reason why I continue to listen to him every day and Sunday.
I'll give you some truth for life, Yeshua has given us up. The church age is over, judgment is at the door, the virgins are asleep awaiting Yeshua's return and the division of the sheep from the goats. This is a time for repentance, now.
The sermon you just gave is the best message you have ever given pastor. There is no doubt Gods Holy Spirit is speaking straight through you as a plea to repent and trust God before its’s too late.

This is the first time seeing Dr. Begg. For years I listened to him on AM 560 WFIL in Philadelphia.I didn't realize that he looked so young. Fantastic teacher!! He's up there with Billy Graham, Chuck Smith and Charles Stanley.

This note is for all who stop in here. The wonderful abundance of deep and moving scriptural exposition available on you tube is such a blessing. My concern is that so many of our Godly leaders are in their final years ( you know what I mean) and there seems to be no younger ones to take their places. Of course, that is strictly the Lord's business. My be worthy of our prayers though.
But what is God's reply to him? “I have kept for myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal. Romans 11:4

@David Irvin I wouldn't necessarily say blessed,and although Begg is at least trying to handle a sensitive subject the church is reluctant to deal with in this post modern age. I'd say the Head (Christ) over all things to the body (church) is raising some up to not only take over from these orthodox and error laden so called leaders, but they will take the church closer to the heart of our God and our Lord. Rest assured our Lord is about His business.

I can DESIRE to fly, but the limits of my ability to fly was created by God.
On the other hand, I can desire to form a relationship, have family.
That same root desire for union with another, can also manifest in pursing my neighbors spouse.
God created desire and will, without restricting WHAT humans desire, and without restricting the ability to act (will) on any desire, righteous or NOT.
Why did He create humans this way?
The most likely answer is love, which by definition MUST be voluntary.
Our faith in Jesus comes from God. He will draw you to Jesus or he will not.

The invitation to be in relationship with God is offered to all. We accept or reject God's invitation.

I’m heartily encouraged and endeared to Begg with his rising to the controversial obligation of the Christian to love the truth for its own sake. Because the truth is Christ.
So many things become remarkably simple when you examine the wisdom in creation. It is clear and indisputable that all bad things reflect in form and function the belief of the lie in Genesis. It has been truth, in the beginning and the end. The truth’s name is Christ - and His Spirit is the Spirit of Truth against only whom sins are not to be forgiven. This is our duty and our cross.
