Thank you for uploading, started to get annoyed with all the negative content youtube has recently - nice to see something positive to start the new week off 🙏
It's really cool that you are using your amazing artwork to turn mindane blank boxes into street art icons and putting art into the place where you live.(Matt) Its like an urban art intervention,I love that this one was a house in miniature
@@NickMoody In a way painting these public objects they are a kind of promo for you and your art,it's as though painting them and the electrical boxes you also paint are a portfolio of your artwork over the city around you if that makes sense and art that enhances the urban environment can only be a good thing (Matt)
Excellent work, Nicky! The reflection worked out well, I thought. Some of the utility/electrical boxes here in South Dakota have been done up with art so it's great to see yours! (I remember the video Smoe did on that one in the background)
I painted my living room walls as brick walls. Was going to try Smoe's roller technique but couldn't find any foam rolers, so i just used masking tape instead. Great video too 🤌🏼
@NickMoody The gaps between the bricks are much bigger than normal brick work, it still looks awesome though. But yeh, taping the stencil took hours to do 😅
Wow 🤯 that looks amazing! Since I’m from USA , I am wondering if you have to get permission or permits from the local authorities (city, state/provinces, government), or the companies to be able to do these gorgeous painting projects? Also do you put something behind the slates of the box to keep the inside protected from the painting process? This is a great way to make the surrounding areas look nice for the community! Thanks so much for sharing this technique for painting bricks 🧱 & for making your community so vibrant & beautiful!
Thanks so much Colleen! That's really nice. Luckily I am being commissioned by the company that owns all the electric boxes and charging stations (which is really cool). No I don't put anything behind the slates. I can't open them for safety reasons. I pay extra close attention when painting these areas not to spray right into the slates. Has been working like a charm so far.
@@NickMoody That’s so cool that you have been commissioned for this! I’m so glad to be subscribed to see your future projects on these boxes. Ohh 😮 my goodness that’s definitely something that would be challenging for me (painting the slates carefully still). Thank you so much for answering my questions!
Yooo this came out sick. I also know the pain of accidentally deleting a shit ton of footage lol, Video came out fire tho, and cant wait to see whats next my friend!
Ahhh thanks my dude 🫶 Man that never happens to me, I'm usually super cautious with my footage. But I've been using the DJI Action 4 instead of my GoPro recently so I had to learn how to use it apparently 😂 Hope you've been great my friend!
Hello Nick, once again another big improvement out in the world of asphalt and concrete. One question for you - Does the city request to have this art work done or are you randomly selecting an area on your own to do? Anyway, fantastic work as always. Bill from the States
Hey thanks Bill for the nice comment, I really appreciate it! All these charging stations and electric boxes I'm painting out in public are actually commissions by the company that owns them. They're scattered all across town, I come up with a specific design and then go out and paint them after the city approves the design.
Hey Nick, big fans since catching you with Smoe, and your other partners in crime. I have a question. Here in the states these sorts of boxes are strictly off-limits. Painting them is considered tampering with utilities and a federal crime. Can you do a video talking about how artists and activists can "pitch" the idea of turning these into art to city officials? We have some fantastic giant walls under bridges on many rail trails here that are in bad need of some amazing work like yours and the crew. I would like to get that done but I am not sure where to start or how to be successful in going about it. I am sure there are others that would like to know as well.
Hey thanks a lot. That's great to hear. Yeah it's off limits here as well unless you get permission / being commissioned to paint them. I'm working on something for people that want to dive into this type of work, but that will still take some time. But you can go to Smoe's website and look for the downloads section. You might find what you're looking for right there. Unfortunately I can't post links here in the comments. Hope that helps!
As amazing as your work is I still think the cities should make more of an effort when it comes to creating these equipments. They don't have to be so damn basic and ugly. They could do better honestly.
0:17 i saw an old electricity box that I did! 😂😂😂 ok - let’s continue
Haha! Yeah, I saw it 😂
Thank you for uploading, started to get annoyed with all the negative content youtube has recently - nice to see something positive to start the new week off 🙏
Awesome! Yeah it was time to share some videos again. And yes I agree, we need to spread more positivity.
hahahah. i know the grind with the stencils and bricks. great surprise to see this video. ❤ and the bricks turned out great at the end!
Thanks bro ❤
awesome, this is the most interesting grafitti intervention imo
this is a joy to the people there.
Tranks a lot!
Awesome work Herr Moody! 😍 Wish more cities would arrange more stuff like this, makes the space so much more interesting.
Agreed 😎 Thanks a lot!
Awesome job! And I love the "easter egg" you did for the surrounding community!
Glad you enjoyed it

Thanks so much! I'm going to do a lot more of these mini houses next year on these boxes. Different motifs though 💪

That is stunning! It blows my mind that you can create images with such depth and texture with cans!!
Richtig schön geworden!! Coole Technik. Die Reflektion ist ein Hammer.
Vielen lieben Dank!
Bravo! Absolutely stunning as always!!! 💜🧡💜🧡💜🧡💜🧡💜
Thanks Miss Trucker! 🙂
Always love seeing your work, gorgeous!!! Being a musician myself the egg you dropped warmed my heart, simply awesome!!!🙌🤩
I love dropping eggs :)
Nicely finished. The area with painted window with a reflection was masterful.
❤❤
Thank you very much!
Glad to see you posting again. Your artwork and art journey was missed. If you want to share any other art projects we would love to hear about them.
Thank you! Yeah definitely more to come! I appreciate the kind words 💪
Good to see you back! The brick pattern reminds me of Smoe’s church project.
Hyped to be back! Thanks! 👊
Absolutely gorgeous and so perfectly rendered! What an asset to the area! You are so talented, Nick!
Thank you so much 🙏

Outstanding as usual Nick!👏👏

Did it turn out good? I did it all with masking tape before myself on another job. Took longer to tape it all off than to actually paint it 😀

@@NickMoody That makes it even more exciting knowing that they have requested your art on these stations.
Another satisfying video❤
the reflection turned out great. Do the neighbours choose the theme of these ones or is more up to you?
I come up with the idea and the design for these ✌️
amazing!
lovely, nick.
respect bro love your work
Awesome work! What primer have you used? Have to paint a metal container next spring.
Very well done ❤
Watching you from california 👍
I love California!
this is awesome! Is it hard to get permission to pain these in Germany? it makes so much difference to the area.
I'm lucky to get commissioned by the company that owns them. But they have to run the design drafts by the city before I can actually paint them.
With the vents on one side, did you have to put something on the inside to keep paint off of whatever electrical is in there?
Siiiick, cause electricity is BETTER for the environment

I get your point. To me it's a blank canvas, so I'm more than fine with it.
Your city is crazy not to pay you to do every single one!!
Working on it, but only have two hands 😎 I appreciate the compliment, thank you!
