The Donald Glover scene was a crazy full circle moment. Bendis designed Miles after Donald Glover after seeing Glover dressed up as Spidey on the show Community. Glover had been sneaking in Spider-man references as part of his campaign to play Spider-man, something that started as a gag in his stand-up. Glover would later get to voice Miles in the cartoons and of course, played the MCU's Uncle Aaron in Homecoming who would later become the Prowler as you saw here.
*Sad detail in this movie:* We all know Miles has an absolute knack for art shown by his drawings and Graffiti, yet he choses a Physics major in hopes that maybe he can Dimension travel to see his friends.........when they could come and see him anytime they wanted.
Not a sad detail at all. Scientists are more likely than normal people to have creative hobbies like art or music. Curiously, for outside, the creative outlet is almost always music. Conversely, artists are more likely than normal people to be competent at technical things, so the correlation goes both ways. For some reason, many people have the false impression that the two things are mutually exclusive. I'm honestly not sure why people think that. PS-look up "Feynman diagrams." It involves drawing pictures to avoid some pretty hardcore math in quantum physics.
Her dad wasn’t really thinking logically in the beginning, it’s my theory he was so surprised confused and full of emotion that he went into cop autopilot mode as sort of a coping mechanism
it's important to note that the main three inforcers of the spider society, Miguel, Ben Riley, and Jessica Drew, weren't bitten by spiders to get their powers, because the "canon" isn't real, they're hypocrites, they can't even agree on what exactly happens when a canon event is disrupted, the dead Miguel's universe glitched out and that was supposedly because of a disrupted canon event but then they claim the spots collapsing Pavitr's universe are due to the same reason, even though those are clearly Spot's doing, Miguel insists both that Miles isn't spider-man and that he has to have spider-man canon events, the same way he insists captain Singh was supposed to die from Spot's actions because it's "canon" and that Spot is a problem that wasn't supposed to happen, hell, they accepted Gwen into their group even though she never had or lost an uncle, and Peter B seems pretty high-ranking despite going against his canon story by getting back with MJ and having a child purely because he met Miles, a person not from his universe, it's a meaningless contradictory ruleset made for the sake of having rules and not because they benefit anyone or are even remotely based in reality, just like Hobie said, it's a metaphor for capitalism
When you think about it is even more ironic that they didn't admit Miles but they did admit Gwen in,when Miles ACTUALLY had lost an uncle. If anything,it seems more like Miguel is blinded by vengeance towards the Spot or Alchemax, which makes sense considering Miguel's lore.
I was a bit apprehensive when I first saw the trailer for portraying Miguel in an antagonistic way because Miguel is a far cry from a villain he's also my all-time favourite Spider-Man in the comics but the movie did an amazing job for portraying him not as the villain but more like an opposing force.
Ben Reilly, the one with the blue hoodie is one of Peter’s clones, he took the name Ben after his uncle and Reilly after his aunt’s maiden name. He died his hair blonde in memory of Gwen who died.
Incase you didn't notice, Miles was constantly talking to Miles G.(Prowler) whilst rubbing against the chains with his fingers, so in the next movie he is probably going to escape using the *"Don't watch the mouth, watch the hands"* as Peter B. showed him that trick while he was tied to that same punching bag.
Well he got away from migul who’s universe they are in and he should know it like the back of his hand miles simply a bit more unpredictable then the rest
I wonder how much Spider-Sense came into play. You could make the argument that Miles wasn't actively trying to harm any of them, only escape, so maybe their Spider-Senses weren't going off? Meanwhile, they were actively coming after Miles, so his senses were probably going haywire.
Nah, I think he was "destine" to escape. That straining spider sense he had moments before the chase (and with more clarity of the future) was very unique. The only other time it's done something like that was before his Peter died.
Couldnt wait for this reaction. Probably going for another Oscar for best animated movie again. Such beautifull movie with so many emotions... Cant wait to get my hands on Art of Across spiderverse. Miguel was about to bite Vulture. It's one of his Spider-powers. His bite knocks his victims out. It doesn't kill them. At least he has that power in the comics, and I assume the movie is sticking pretty close to his power set. Yes, that is the rapper Childish Gambino/Donald Glover. He played Miles Uncle (Aaron Davis) in "Spider-man: Homecoming."
27:51 the official name is the Great Web of Life and Destiny. Miguel’s version is simply the scientific version. “Spiderverse” is more so the name of the event.

Memes aside, the idea of "canon events" is a very interesting plot point. The fact that Spot is a result of Miles but so is Mayday and Gwen's Dad is really great. It's a wonderful meta exploration on how people don't want these adaptations to change stuff despite changes being an important part about keeping it fresh and interesting while also playing into Spiderverse's strengths. I just hope they keep that steam going for the third film.
Spot def told him his spider was from another dimension but I doubt Miles would've thought much about it, until Miguel pointed out how it kinda screwed over Earth 42 by leaving it without a Spider-Man
the scene where jefferson is deciding whether or not he should jump through the portal is a "like father like son" moment. it calls back to when miles first got his powers and was trying to test his abilities on the top of a building.
Miguel O'Hara is the Spiderman of 2099 in his time all the heroes like Spiderman, Ironman,Thor are all gone. He worked for a corrupt company called Alcamax that forced him to do a lot of inhumane experiments. Miguel tried to replicate the experiment that created the original Spiderman. And it kind of worked, the experiment made him more spider he got fangs that secret paralytic venom and claws that he uses to climb walls. Miguel doesn't have a spider sense but he does have inhanced senses. Miguel before he got his powers was a spoiled rich kid helping Alcamax put down the people. But after he became Spiderman he grew to care for little guys more and started to fight back against Alcamax. So he may seem like a cold basterd but he still has a heart.
He wasn't spoiled he was literally drugged and addicted and had no choice but to help because the company gave him the drugs he was rich and spoiled lmao he had no choice in the matter until he turned into Spiderman

Miguel wasn't spoilt. He had a fucked up childhood with his parents having multiple affairs, his half brother trying to kill him since they were kids, drug addiction and whatnot. He had no positive role models but once he got his powers, he decided to become Spider-Man because Peter Parker was considered a legend in his timeline and he did it as an homage to him.
In the best possible way, they set up the 'wrong universe' spider in the first movie. Go back and watch the scenes that highlight the number '42' (like after he takes his first leap off of a building and crashes to the ground with the number around his head). Hidden in plain sight all this time! The whole theater gasped at the end of the movie, easily one of the best set up cliff-hangers in movie history. I am very hopeful for the wrap up because usually the middle movie is the weakest link (except for maybe 'The Empire Strikes Back'), but this movie shows if you start with a great story people will come to see it!
The sight of me laughing when Don criticized Hobie's Camden colloquialisms -- and then he realized that Hobie is being voiced by Daniel Kaluuya, who was raised in the Camden section of London.
This is the best version of Hobie Brown in any medium. There are tons of analysis videos about him, and they are worth watching. He has been planning and insurrection for a while and was just waiting for the right people to take issue with the whole "canon event" business. Gwen is a punk musician in a number of universes, including Hobie's. If you ask people what Jessica Drew is famous for, it's doing the superhero thing while pregnant. Miguel and his two lieutenants did not get their powers from a spider bite. Are they really canon? Miguel's fangs are spider fangs. He can paralyze people. In-universe, people tease him and call him a vampire.
"What's important is not standing by while allowing someone to suffer or die because you do nothing if you don't get that then you don't know the first thing about being spider-man" -spider-man edge of time I kid you not this quote came to my mind during the "intervention" scene and as a long time spider-man fan it made the experience of watching this movie in theaters so much better
Yup, Earth-199999 is the MCU. And no, Gwen. He doesn’t anymore. Now he practices protecting the multiverse. @7:56 Lenny was voiced by Ziggy Marley, one of Bob Marley’s children. @11:01 I agree. @11:05-@11:14 lol hahahahahahaha!!!!!! @12:38 You’d be surprised to know that the Lego sequence was put together not by a team of animators but by a fourteen-year-old kid named Preston Mutanga. @21:30 This is Daniel Kaluuya’s second Marvel role. He previously portrayed W’Kabi in Black Panther 2018. When he says he hates the a.m. and the P.M, he’s respectively talking about the morning and the Prime Minister. Unless I missed my guess, the P.M. happens to be Kingpin. @23:45 Pavitr had been Spider-Man for only six months and it had pretty easy for him up to this point. If Captain Singh was killed in Pavitr’s presence, he would’ve been affected by the loss like every other Spider-Hero. Malala Windsor, the Spider-Woman with the hijab, is an original character created for this movie. She was never introduced in the comics, but now we must have one. @26:12 that’s Donald Glover/Childish Gambino. He previously portrayed Aaron Davis/Prowler in Spider-Man: Homecoming. However, there’s no confirmation that he’s the same Prowler we met back then. @28:02 once again, I agree. @31:17 lol hahahahahahaha!!!!!! Which one? Most of us share that codename. @32:22 That’s record producer Metro Boomin’ making a cameo. He curated the soundtrack for this film. @32:47 I couldn’t agree more. Peter is definitely irresponsible for bringing Mayday to a steel mill with all kinds of equipment that can easily harm her. And finally, it’s weird but also cool that Earth-42’s version of J. Jonah Jameson and The Daily Bugle would actually support a Spider-Man rather than call him a menace all the time. Going into this, I knew we were gonna be left on a cliffhanger. This movie was originally a two-parter, but they ended up changing the name of the third movie to Beyond the Spider-Verse. The movie was originally slated for March of next year. Unfortunately due to the ongoing writers and actors strike, voice recording has been delayed until further notice. The sooner the deals are made, the sooner production can resume.
Not Wilson Fisk, Prime Minister is Norman ‘Ozzy’ Osborn, since he was the president in the comic storyline that introduced Spider-Punk, who is a variant of Earth 616’s Hobie Brown.
Spider-UK is in the comics, except in the comics UK is Billy Braddock initially and then later Zarina Zahari. Billy is of course a variant of Brian Braddock, otherwise known as Captain Avalon though initially he was Captain Britain a title now held by his non-identical twin sister.
As I was watching the first movie, it was already hinted about Earth 42, the number that won Miles a place at the school, 42, the numbers that fell next to him when he tripped on the building, 42, and even the spider that bit him glitched while traveling to bite miles, things that you wouldn't even think about
Btw Don miles was meant to be the prowler because if you notice when he meets spider man (Peter from his dimension) miles spidey senses turn from purple and green (the prowlers suit color) to blue and red (spider suit color) that’s something I noticed after watching across the spider verse
i would also say, based on miles' mom's reaction to him trying to say what he wants to say... ..I think she wanted him to admit he's spider-man. she had that body language and the emotions. i would like to believe that 100%
Technically, if Miles is wrong, saving his father would end up killing his father, mother, and everyone else in that universe. So if Miles is wrong, what Miles is doing could result in a genocide. So technically, depending on how the story is written, Miles could have been the villain of the story. On the other hand, we know that not all the other spider-men lost their dad as their canon event. For example, Gwen lost her Peter. And Miles lost his Uncle, which could possibly be his canon event.
I think every Spidey losing their uncle is the main canon event, or as it is called in Marvels What If, a fix-point in time. And I also thought of the theory, that the universe of Miguel collapsed, because he broke that fix-point. I think, that the Miguel who was shot, was this universes Uncle Ben. And when the other Miguel replaced him, it caused the collapse.
@@jackiejackyjaqy...7219 That's a stupid argument. Humans are mammals that's a definitive fact. There's objectivity to that statement. Which movie is superior between movie A and movie B is not definitive at all. That's completely subjective because movies are a form of art and what constitutes good art is based on personal feelings.
Miguel wasnt wrong to say that Miles was an anomaly. but him saying Miles is the *original* anomaly was cap. because the first person to really fuck something up was Miguel himself; putting himself in a different dimension to be with his kid Miles was just being himself. yes, the spider wasnt supposed to bite him. so Miguel is valid to say that hes an anomaly, but Miguel was projecting. Miles is *still* very much Spider-Man, as he still has his canon events like the others
26:14 Donald Glover, he played Miles' uncle in the MCU in Spiderman Homecoming. A hint we might one day get a Miles, though who knows at this point, these bits and pieces though do make Sony's Spiderverse canon in MCU too though.
Miguel O'Hara or Spiderman - 2099, has paralytic venom. He can bite someone and inject venom strong enough to incapacate anyone, he's the only spiderman in this canon that isn't biten, he literally created himself AFAIK, that's what he's injecting himself with.
canon events are probably "flexible" canon for their spiders, i.e. they themselves can change it without any consequences. Gwen, after talking to her father, was able to change her canon (in the scenario that it was her father who was supposed to die) and nothing happened (at that time). But when Spiders appear in other universes, they spoil everything, as in Mumbattan, where the canon event was formed due to the Spot, and Spot himslef appeared due to the "anomaly" in the form of Miles (which, of course, is already a paradox). Then it turns out that the whole essence of these films is that Spiders cannot coexist without destroying the universes, and the names Into, Across, Beyond are the first meeting, joining and rejecting the Spider Society, choosing one's own path, changing one's canon without any consequences. plus i think Miguel's words make no sense at all. The collider in the first film almost shattered Miles' universe, the same thing happened in Mumbattan, I don't understand how this is a consequence of violating the canon event. If anything, I assume that he is hiding something, maybe it has something to do with his past in Alchemax, it would make sense given how big of a role this company played in both movies.

PS-look up "Feynman diagrams." It involves drawing pictures to avoid some pretty hardcore math in quantum physics.
as a londoner it’s just so nice to hear a character with my accent where dialogue isn’t all forced
Antagonist, but not a villain
I actually felt the same way, it's also a shame because for some people this will be the first time they see Miguel o Hara
Ion know. Miguel was always more violent and serious than other Spidermen. Plus he actually kills his opponents
@@donathan2933 more of an antihero than a villain
@@de606returns6 It was my first introduction for him, but I actually thought that he was pretty cool and I could understand where he was coming from.

25:25 As Miguel said during the fight with Vulture, it’s called “Hammerspace”.
while I do want to commend miles on evading every spider-man, it's highly likely that most of them if not all of them did not want to capture him.
Well he got away from migul who’s universe they are in and he should know it like the back of his hand miles simply a bit more unpredictable then the rest
I mean when it gets to those kinds of numbers it's not even an advantage anymore, it would get too chaotic to tell what was happening at all.
Can't wait for Beyond the Arachnohumanoid Polymultiverse
Couldnt wait for this reaction. Probably going for another Oscar for best animated movie again. Such beautifull movie with so many emotions... Cant wait to get my hands on Art of Across spiderverse.
Would have so much to say about this movie but I wouldnt even stop. Just going to say I saw it 4 times in theatre 😂😂 100/10
And I could listen to Start a Band (opening and ending soundtrack) whole day. Daniel Pemberton did very good job.
And ,,Am I Dreaming".... GOD DAMN that song is just masterpiece
The intro imo is one of the best parts it forshadows the entire movie in a few seconds and yet at the time you dont Think about it
You even see the Spot in his end-of-the-movie form for a frame or two
@@amy_grace yeah that’s what I mean it captures the entire movie perfectly. If you pay close attention you can watch the entire movie in a few seconds from it. I didn’t notice it all in my first time seeing it but I could tell instantly when she said “and I hurt him. That this intro was more than it seems, it was the end of the movie speech she gives to each of the members of her “band”. This movie is a masterpiece
The spot becomes black... Don "things just got dark" 💀
@@jfoster8624 I said before he got his powers, before he became Spiderman all he cared about was himself. He was selfish and spoiled but he changed once he saw what Alcamax was really like. I know he was forced to do the experiment.
@@thatonkgau5221 he wasn't selfish tho he was literally hooked on a drug that only his company provided he was another victim of their abuse but chose to be get better he wasn't spoiled and he definitely wasn't selfish looking out for your own well being isn't selfish it's self preservation you can't help people if you can't help yourself to call Miguel's backstory selfish is very ignorant to what he went through
Miguel wasn't spoilt.
I'm so happy Hobie Brown got to watch his first cinematic debut
The Spiderman at 30:10 is called the Spectacular Spiderman. I suggest watching the series because it's goated
Don I suggest you watch "things you missed in spiderman across the spiderverse" its REALLY cool
What a movie!
The sight of me laughing when Don criticized Hobie's Camden colloquialisms -- and then he realized that Hobie is being voiced by Daniel Kaluuya, who was raised in the Camden section of London.
Every frame of this film is a work of art you could frame and hang on a wall
The actor's name you couldnt remember was Donald Glover, reprsing his role from Spiderman Homecoming (or a future alternate version of it)
Well we at least now know Prowler is currently existing within Holland Universe
Fun fact, the legi scene in the movie was done by a kid, they literally hired a kid to animate that whole seen. It was amazing lol.
The really important question is - now that the Spot turned black, does he get the pass? 🤔🤔
😂
If can if he answer this simple question: how many scopes of sugar go into the Kool-Aid
In-universe, people tease him and call him a vampire.
fun fact a 14 year old did all the lego scenes for the movie
hes redone many scenes from the movie in lego as well
"What's important is not standing by while allowing someone to suffer or die because you do nothing if you don't get that then you don't know the first thing about being spider-man"
-spider-man edge of time
I kid you not this quote came to my mind during the "intervention" scene and as a long time spider-man fan it made the experience of watching this movie in theaters so much better
Same 😂
Yup, Earth-199999 is the MCU. And no, Gwen. He doesn’t anymore. Now he practices protecting the multiverse.
@7:56 Lenny was voiced by Ziggy Marley, one of Bob Marley’s children.
@11:01 I agree.
@11:05-@11:14 lol hahahahahahaha!!!!!!
@28:02 once again, I agree.
I love how this story for the next movie has been set up since the first. This feels like when Marvel did infinity war and endgame.
gwen didnt change the canon, the canon only says the police captain had to die, but now itll be some other police captain
4:30 fun fact miguel couldnt sense him cause he doesnt have a spidersense like others
As I was watching the first movie, it was already hinted about Earth 42, the number that won Miles a place at the school, 42, the numbers that fell next to him when he tripped on the building, 42, and even the spider that bit him glitched while traveling to bite miles, things that you wouldn't even think about
YES LETS GOOO i absolutely adored that movie and watched it three times in cinema it was so so good!! so happy to see your reaction to it now😸😸😸😸

Right on time bro I just watched mine yesterday 😅
This movie is Gold💛
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR REACTIONS TO THIS TO COME OUT ON YT SINCE I WAS ONLY ABLE TO WATCH IT ONCE IN THEATERS
Spider-Man is great at escaping but not chasing/catching folks. Spider sense and all that
Btw Don miles was meant to be the prowler because if you notice when he meets spider man (Peter from his dimension) miles spidey senses turn from purple and green (the prowlers suit color) to blue and red (spider suit color) that’s something I noticed after watching across the spider verse
Finally, I've been waiting for this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Im real sad that you didn’t get the full experience in theaters but I’m also so excited to watch you react 😭
i would also say, based on miles' mom's reaction to him trying to say what he wants to say...
..I think she wanted him to admit he's spider-man. she had that body language and the emotions. i would like to believe that 100%
Unreal score & soundtrack
Your reaction sounded almost exactly like mine when I watched it. 😂 It was so good and I can't wait for the next one!
Well this is gonna get claimed immediately better watch now everyone
Such a great movie. Great reaction!😊
@@YAH93what about Gwen then she lost her best friend not her uncle

Thanks for being one of my favorite React TH-camrs
Miguel wasnt wrong to say that Miles was an anomaly. but him saying Miles is the *original* anomaly was cap. because the first person to really fuck something up was Miguel himself; putting himself in a different dimension to be with his kid
Miles was just being himself. yes, the spider wasnt supposed to bite him. so Miguel is valid to say that hes an anomaly, but Miguel was projecting. Miles is *still* very much Spider-Man, as he still has his canon events like the others
Little fun fact about the LEGO part is that it was animated by a awesome 14 year old from youtube

26:14 Donald Glover, he played Miles' uncle in the MCU in Spiderman Homecoming. A hint we might one day get a Miles, though who knows at this point, these bits and pieces though do make Sony's Spiderverse canon in MCU too though.
I love when he says and you… I’m just going to try to ignore you😂😂😂❤
Honestly every spider man that was chasing him got a massive nerf cus he really woulda been caught immediately otherwise
I think because none of the were in danger, their spider sense didn’t activate so miles got that in favour
@@manuelvfc6254exactly. Same thing with Venom too because it's not a danger when it's your host and when you fight it, your spider sense won't react.
Earth 42 Miles having a little more of a latin accent since he lives in a single parent household with a spanish speaking mom.
Miguel O'Hara or Spiderman - 2099, has paralytic venom. He can bite someone and inject venom strong enough to incapacate anyone, he's the only spiderman in this canon that isn't biten, he literally created himself AFAIK, that's what he's injecting himself with.
Fun Fact but Miguel is one of the only spider people without spider sense
miles is just build different he was running from all those spidermen like his dad was chasing him (get it because his dad is a police officer)
canon events are probably "flexible" canon for their spiders, i.e. they themselves can change it without any consequences.
The plot twist is always so awesome
the song that starts at 1:38 slaps for some reason and i cant quite put my finger on it
