Funny enough, they HAD a model for Neyo/Neyo troopers with both a Cody-style visor and a Bly-style Macrobinoculars, one of which is for sure in the Order 66 scene. But they opted to just not use it for some reason....very odd.
On Appo being left handed, he's actually not just left handed but he's ambidextrous. In fact, ALL clones are ambidextrous as it was a trait that passed down from Jango Fett. This information is most prominently mentioned in the Republic Commando novels.
it's possible they gave him a proper head instead of a glued on helmet, due to him being shown in one scene of TCW without his helmet on, which Wookipedia uses as the main image of him, so the designers likely saw that when researching him, and included that in the figure.
2:05 the clone commander from the 13th legion in the game jedi fallen order also got this. Probably the last time we'll see them do that ever. Always kinda liked that, the commanders being the same as the troops. Made more tactical sense too
Great review, pretty cool figure that I was super surprised to actually find and acquire. Just wish he wasn't exclusive, if he was mainline I may have bought at least 2 but at the exclusive price point I just can't justify it.
Personally, I would have given him a darker blue like what he and the other 501st clones had in Revenge of the Sith, but that’s just me. I know that this lighter blue is more screen-accurate to how the clones looked in Kenobi so it makes sense.
I think a large part of going back to plastic could have been theft. My local Walmart, almost an entire shipment of windowless Star Wars Black Series were stolen. The thief opened the boxes, replaced the figs with GI Joe, Wakanda and other figures, then the boxes were put back on the shelf. My daughter thought we scored a Fives, only to take it home, open it and find storm shadow instead. I hate thieves…
I was lucky enough to find both this guy and the regular phase 2 clone in stores. One thing I found super weird is that the left hands on both, despite both having trigger fingers, are still different. The regular has an inward hinge like the old mold and Appo has an up and down
it's during Mygeeto right before Ki-Adi Mundi's death, it's easy to miss and isn't on screen for very long, but like 3 or so copies of Bacara's design are seen near the back around the UT-ATs.
Am I the only one who thinks that Hasbro should stop making very single Trooper have a removable helmet? As I think if budget was freed up from not doing that, helmets would look a lot better.
I've always assumed that Appo (in-Canon, anyway) was promoted to essentially take Rex's place after he was assigned to Ahsoka and the 332nd and sent to Mandalore, with Appo taking command of the rest of the 501st that were still with Anakin up to Order 66 (though Wookieepedia makes it sound like he was promoted before that, so *shrug* I don't know)

I always loved how the BARC Speeder 2 pack had one with the binocs, I always loved that mold. A shame they never used it again for anything.

The armor wasn't dark in Rots, the movie model is actually pretty light
The 501st in ROTS also had a similar medium blue color, they just appeared darker because of the lighting.

Clones should have always had duel trigger hands especially commander with 2 pistols those hands need to stay.
