@@sparklybelly I would also like to see you do a DIY Belly dance costume with genie girl pants, a sparkling bra top, gold handcuffs, veils, and a coin belt with jingling coins!
I watched this first just as a quick run through and got intimidated, i decided to tackle the pattern making, cause no time like the present, and it was crazy easy. I just get scared of numbers. Honestly use the calculator. I tried it 1st with out and i was completely off. Yes. I am that bad at math... THANK YOU FOR THE CALCULATOR
I made it! So fun. This is the first item of clothing I have sewn! I borrowed my roomates sewing machine for it. Just FYI you will need to add fabric if you are any size larger than SparklyBelly/small, as I just barely had enough and I am I more on the medium size!
I want to make this for a Halloween costume, but I do not like exposing my stomach. Instead of doing the belt line, can I measure from my waist to my hip line and then hip line to knees, etc? Also, can this be sewn with a sewing machine?
About 2 yards 😃 You can find the details of the materials here: www.sparklybelly.com/diy-fishtail-mermaid-skirt-with-train-for-belly-dance,-halloween-&-festivals/

@Jade Phillips Once I had the fabric it took about 3-4 hours for me. Although most of that time was figuring out how to work the sewing machine LOL!

Yes and yes! To make sure the fit, I recommend you test your pattern with some scrap fabric first 🙂
Amazing!! 😍How many yards of cloth did you use for the skirt?
