Also, I am doing a manga story about a bunch of Öx speaking friends forming a newspaper in a larger earth that started after Ragnarok.
I've come to realize this album is even more difficult to diggest than the two previous ones. I adore what this guys are doing.
There is a certain joy in understanding a complex and engaging listening experience.
Truth. I think this is straight up the most complex album I've ever heard.

@@silverspawn8017 It is tho. The music in Y is so abstract, demanding, alien, and f*cked up. That album is actually meant to be a symbolic one, like Y represents many things, like the two paths, and the tongue of a snake. They also give much more music to this one and the imagery and singing is just more Öxxö Xööx than two albums ago lol.
I really want an epic sci-fi/fantasy movie that looks like Dune with the soundtrack by Öxxö Xööx and Ricinn.

Me and a friend are making a story about a group of anthropomorphic beings in a larger earth in the Delta Quadrent. We actually are using the language as part of the story, along with another language I'm making myself. I actually want to get Öxxö Xööx to do some tracks for the story.

More seriously, after listening to the first song I can confidently say that I will not be confident in how I feel about this anytime soon. This will require a bunch of listens to get a handle on.

It's not as strong as Namidae, but it's very good. I've listened to it an absurd amount of times, especially tracks 4-7.
I think Därkäë is probably the most emotional song I've ever heard, and certainly, nothing on here comes close to that. Which isn't surprising, almost no group can deliver that amount of raw passion for more than one album. What this record has instead is even more variety. There are just so many good ideas on here. I think that's what gives it so much replayability. It being less emotional also makes it a less demanding listen.
The order is kinda unfortunate. I think the first three songs are actually the three weakest ones and oh man does 44^3 not compare well Därkäë. But everything from Kobol(D) onward is fantastic. Ns2 is my favorite. 3en and Kobol(D) are also top tier. Love the female vocals in 3en.
@@siIverspawn Därkäë is just their best piece as a whole. Like, don't get close to Därkäë. 999, Lëïth Säë, and Döld are my most favorite from this album because Döld has the most musicality with it's usage of keys that can be identified, Lëïth Säë is just what got me here, and 999 is just aggressive. I also want to talk about Dälëïth, just my absolute favorite. Därkäë is best structurally and lyrically, but I cannot get over the musicality of Dälëïth, and THAT FINALE gives me goosebumps EVERY TIME!!!!!!! It also has musical elements I love like the A mixolydian in the middle (like in the second time that one poem is said with "Ü ÄYÄ, Ü MËÄ" Like that A note on "MËÄ" just HITS hard.
One more thing about Därkäë, BEST CLIMAX EVER!!!!!! When the lead vocalist screams FREEDOM!!!!!!, it just proves how that song just, lyrically, is just the best thing ever. Emotional is definitely right too. When Laurent sings "YÜM FÜRÏ SÜTCH" meaning "Anger disposes the soul" as the music gets at it's most aggressive point after that little section after the buildup (it's so infamous for me I call it the 5 minute mark) you feel EVERYTHING tense, like you go SUPER SAIYAN on that and it makes me HAPPY!!!!! How did Därkäë become so good!?!?!?

Good album but I can't figure out why this bores me personally. Maybe it just misses the range of aggression (super slow to impossibly fast) like igorrr?
might be a bit late but yeah doom metal is very slow and to many feels drawn out its understandable
It is not just twisted and hard enough to be under the doom metal banner, pseudo-doom metal maybe, but I do like it a lot and it does have its moments.
Try listening to Ctënöphörä in it's fullest and see how bored you get! They went a LONG way from boring. Trust me, Därkäë is 11 minutes long and has the best structure and poetry out of ALL of Öxxö Xööx's songs and is just their best to me. My favorite is Dälëïth because the aggression is there. Lëïth Säë is also their most aggressive song out of all of the band's catalog so they of course are not boring.

Love this album, but doesn't ensnare me quite like Nämïdäë did it with it's heavier leans on the Gothic elements.
The amazing use of the Organ on Nämïdäë is what really reeled me in. I like what I'm hearing so far but if it stays on the whackier side I won't enjoy it in quite the same way I enjoyed Nämïdäë, which remains one of my most played albums to this day.
Nämïdäë is just amazing. But Y is their most avants garde album, and totally their most musical. I listened to songs of both albums, read lyrics and titles of them, and Y's titles are insane. Some of them are just numbers like 999 and all that. Nämïdäë is the better version of Rëvëürt if you ask me, with slow beginnings and lots of Baroque instruments pulled in. Nämïdäë is just the best orchestrated and has the best song structure, and Därkäe and Dälëïth are my absolute favorites of the entire career Laurent pulled, so I can't judge you saying Nämïdäë is better. The only way to make an album even better than the latest two were to combine both factors of musicality between avants garde and structure between poetry, now that would be the GOLDEN album. Just think about that.
