Pink Floyd's the name of the band. David gilmour's the lead guitarist lead singer. The keyboardist with the long hair is Richard wright and the drummer sitting down is Nick Mason the three original members out of four from the band. Rodger Waters the lead bass player and Lyricist left the band in 1985 because of differences. That's the reader's digest version...

Your precursor comment that you were light on expertise of music is belied by the fact that you NAILED it with your comments and clear enjoyment of the concert. Good on you. Peace, love and bellbottoms from Canada.

The red guitar played by David Gilmore is a Fender Stratocaster (an electric guitar). The Pulse 1994 concert was performed at Earls Court (London, England).
A few friends went to this concert and a few other Pink Floyd concerts over the years. Every performance at Pulse is excellent, and explore a lot of different sounds.
They never produced many singles but many albums which were best sellers. 3 of the original Pink Floyd members performed at this concert. Their music seems to touch the soul, I don't know how they did it. I believe that the entire band were exceptionally talented even to create the masterpiece in the first place. Pink Floyd always used spectacular lighting, it is hard to appreciate that this was 30 years ago. Reputedly their 3 rigs for this tour cost in the region of $100,000,000 so the audience did get value for money. One rig would be in use, while the next venue was being set up and the previous venue dismantled.

You have now been touched by Pink Floyd. They go back to the 1960s...a British band named after their 2 favorite blues artists, PINK Anderson and FLOYD Council. Pink Floyd is Goliath.. Nobody tops them at anything. NOBODY. A good example is their album DARK SIDE OF THE MOON, from over 50 years ago, which stayed at the #1 album spot, when it came out, for 40-some months in a row...just over 4 years....and has remained in the top 100 albums...permanently. WOW. ...WORLD RECORD. and that's just one of their albums. DIVE DEEP. Pink Floyd is SOUL FOOD.

Next: Same Concert: „High Hopes“! This was 1994, so it is 30 (!) years old! Can you imagine! This is how way ahead of their time they were and how good this was!

  • @TheDoctorFlay
    @TheDoctorFlay 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Their music often has a dreamlike quality.
This song is about someone depressed and under the influence of drink and drugs.
It is a duet between the internal thoughts of the man, and a doctor sent to get him on his feet for a show he is supposed to be doing.

One of the greatest ever rock guitar solos, from, IMHO, one of the best rock bands the world has ever heard and seen! As a Brit, I am proud that the UK has given the world such great music. I would recommend you react to ‘Sorrow’ from the same concert - the sounds David Gilmour produces from his guitar in that song are unbelievable. You really should listen to the whole Pulse concert - it’s absolutely phenomenal!

It´s totally easy. Pink Floyd is the best and greatest Band of all time, no other Band can compare wizh Pink Floyd and David Gilmour is the best emotional Guitarplayer in the World, He is still on Solo Carrier and Concerts. Pink Floyd have influence more other Bands than the Beatles in thete five Decades musical history.

This song was #2 of 3 encores after the concert finished. Wish You Were Here was first, Comfortably Numb next and finally an exquisite Run Like Hell. All-in-all, about 2 1/2 hours.

The song is about a real life event, from The Wall album, which is basically former bass player, Roger Waters , life story up to the time of writing the lyrics.
Roger was ill and in too much pain to perform, so a doctor gave him a pain killer and heavy duty stimulant.
The stimulent blew his mind , he didnt know what planet he was on, and also numbed his whole body, hands and fingers.......so he couldn't even feel the guitar with no way to play.
The band had to play around him as he stood on stage tripping out.....David on guitar and Richard on the keyboards had to add the bass lines for him.

Welcome to my world island girlz, this is one of the groups I have followed, so many good times and festivals it's been a good life and I wouldn't change anything from my past, I feel sorry for the younger generation who will just be hearing Rap music or some corney pop music, got to go I'm waffling. 🌹

I was at this very concert I.G. and I don't think there was a dry eye in the place.
I had tears running down my face for most of the gig.
You don't just listen to Floyd, you are immersed in Floyd.
It's so tempting to close your eyes and drift away, but trust me, you will be missing the amazing visuals.
As previously mentioned "the great gig in the sky" from the pulse concert is an absolute must.
It's not often backing vocalists get to shine, but this will make your head explode.
    Here's the link sweetheart.

You are certainly not the first, nor the last, to be dazzled by this performance.
More than 5.5 million people saw this live show in 1994, in 68 cities around the world.
Here at (Earls Court, London, England), the crowd may seem huge, but yet it was the smallest venue on this tour, with only 19,500 spectators.
The largest venue on this tour (Ohio Stadium in Columbus USA), included a crowd of 75,250 spectators.

So this is the time to set a red mark in the calendar. But please dont miss the whole Pulse Concert, there are so many other good songs to enjoy...

Probably my funeral song as I'm being lowered. You need to listen to the floyd albums 'the wall' and 'darkside of the moon', both amazing! Watch the floyd link for another iconic floyd song.
This other link is a Scottish classic, so if you want to see a crowd party then watch this and you'll love the song too.

Growing up in the UK in the 70's we had 2 bands that were like a "Yin and Yang" between them they brought balance to our little universe.
    Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin
So if you want to see the "other" band.
Led Zeppelin "Since I've Been Loving You" live at Madison Square Gardens 1973 😉
