I really benefit being (a lot) “Vintage Ignorant.” It really allows me to enjoy what I enjoy now, instead of allowing any comparison to steal my joy. Pour Monsieur is wonderful, and the soft projection is great when wearing it in a place like Japan. 😃
1955 Pour Monsieur to 2024 Allure Homme Sport Superleggera to have less than 16 quality men's fragrances in 69 years, shows why Chanel is up there in the top designer mens brands, rarely discounted. I have all the mainline fragrances and Jacques Polge in house since 1978 produced the best right up to bleu de Chanel until his son made the Parfum (which is great)
Excellent review Pep. I was partial to the edp for a long time, but eventually came around to the edt. The former very much a smooth and balmy soap in the drydown with little resemblance to the citrusy opening. Very similar in vibe and style to Boucheron's Pour Homme, which could easily be a distant cousin. The edt a great choice for spring.🍃
I've been heavily into chanel lately. As of now I only own platinum egoiste, which was an instant love for me. This and chanel no 19 have really captured my interest but now I'm stuck deciding which to get first. On another note, I agree that not all perfumes need the "beastly" performance . Sure it's nice to have when you want people to notice you, but for someone lowkey like me I appreciate just smelling the perfume on me during the day.
Sometimes the best things cannot/should not last - lest we are left not longing... and this is a great example. Pour Monsieur is what I remember my childhood smelling like when Spring was giving way to Summer.
I liked your review and about performance, Pour Monsieur has the "day after" super power, the remnants of the perfume on a shirt or a scarf are totally noticeable several days later and are of course exquisite. The other one you forget you're wearing but is present clear as a day on clothes is Eau Sauvage.
Thank you for this one! I love Pour Monsieur even being MadameI have been using PM deodorant stick for more than 4 years and love its scent. I tested EDP a few times, but it didn't do the trick, there is something in the base which ruins the whole effect. EDT is something I prefer a lot more at least in the opening, the problem however is that when I test PM in store, the testers are old and do not perform well at all, I am struggling to smell the base. I guess it's bcs it's not a popular scent, they don't replace them regularly. But thanks to your review, I know that it's just the older testers. I think I am going to treat myself
This was one of my first fragrance buys in 1980, Brut 33 preceeded as a Christmas gift. CPH has always maintained a presence ever since. It was joined by Eau Sauvage, Pierre Cardin PH, Drakkkar , and Cacherel's PH . And then I discovered Guerlain and on and on it went.
Same Here. I bought mine 3 or 4 years ago and haven't worn it often because it feels like it's only 20min there, without any sillage. But the scentprofile is a legend.

“Vintage ignorant” is perfect.
Great review and I enjoyed it and I'm going to try it and have a blessed day

@reeethydroo I got Pour Monsieur and then I got No 19😁
Great review Pep. I’ve almost finished my bottle. Wore it a lot over the last couple of years.

I have the edt concentree. The sandalwood dry down is so smooth and elegant. Take care, pep. Great review

Ah, my spring signature
Timeless masterpiece, ETHEREAL! Do you find the smell similar to Lancome Sagamore?
@InterceptorOfDoom unfortunately I haven't smelled the Lancome
@@TheScentinel I highly recommend it.
How far do perfumes(made) go back? That would be interesting to know.
@@marsellem6175 I am sure it wouldn't be difficult to find out

Edp is very different, more in vein of nicolai new york intense
No way
@@arcabuz drydown of NYT is mostly oakmoss vanilla, but you're right, I just spritzed Chanel few hours ago it's much more fougere than nicolai
I would choose now a New York Intense over Chanel Pour Monsieur
