The One in Toronto has just applied for a height extension from 82 to 94 floors. Which recently got approved. Also, there's 2 more supertalls in the same area (one is in construction as i type this) at the bottom of Yonge street that will alter the skyline forever. They too have applied for height extensions going from the previous 90 floors to a new record breaking height of 104. Making the one under construction the first 100 storie building in Canada. The second one will go from 80 to 94 floors. There's also a lot of supertalls that have been approved but havent started construction yet. I would love to see a video made on these projects!
Toronto has so many projects proposed, approved and under construction I gave up trying to figure them all out. Now I just enjoy the ride of Supertall towers going up there... The One is still my favorite though and I do hope Apple reconsiders and signs onto their custom-designed space in the lobby...
I've been visiting Toronto regularly since the mid 1980's. The city has changed SO much, as has the traffic. Back then there were dozens of lanes that were virtually empty most of the time. Today traffic is between slow and awful much of the time and there simply is not way to build more roads. Thankfully public transport has been undergoing major expansions as well. If you are heading into town from the West, the most logical thing is to leave your car in Burlington an take the Go Train. Maybe we'll actually have a link to Buffalo at some point in the future so we don't have to drive half way there. The downtown sky line has been absolutely transformed. Back in the early 80's, the CN towner appeared to be in the middle of nowhere. It was hard to get to on-foot. Now the city has absolutely exploded in growth around that area and it's now surrounded by dozens and dozens of tall residential towers. I still love visiting. I'll be keeping an eye on the sky for the new Super-Tall buildings being built.
Can you do a video on Towarowa 22 in Warsaw its a complete new area with 3 new skyscrapers , smaller developments , a new street , a new walking street , revamping an old factory and many new green areas
How can you not feature Nigeria's new presidential palace? It's 6 floors above Lagos and features up to 15 guest bathrooms along with a 6 car garage, one for each of honorable Tinubu's children. How you go exclude the giant of Africa but include France 6 times??
I see it quite daily in my commutes to Paris … the spire is now visible and only lower section where later the apostles in a ceremony would be added, is covered in a scaffolding that has the looks of it printed on it making it look a bit bold but once they take those away, you’ll see the whole beautiful exact replica of the spire and roof.. it’s coming beautifully
Actuallt started studying civil engineering with specifically a BIM alignmet at bachelors. It’s because people like you at B1M that inspired me. I’m due to graduation in the summer this year 🙂 I actually ended up being so good at BIM they assigned me to teach AutoCAD and Revit for a class.
Please do a full video on Sydney Metro… 3 lines under construction including a connection to a second international airport (due to open 2026). Not to mention Sydney has just opened the second longest road tunnel in the world with the world’s biggest underground interchange.
I hope the Olympics go better than that farcical 2022 Champions League final in Paris. The contrast between that and the World Cup a year later was like night and day!
Yeah it won't be conplete in 2024 but this year marks the kick-start of the massive acceleration of Paris "transit-a-palooza" madness. This last decade, or decade and a half, saw mostly tramway expansions with a dozen new tram lines (the 2 last ones opened last summer and less than a month ago) and a few metro extensions (on M4, M12, M14). In 2024 that's 30 kilometers of new underground extensions, plus a few on the surface, on 4 different lines : M11's Eastern extension towards the current RER E and future M15 Rosny Bois Perrier interchange. M14's short Northern and large Southern extensions respectively to Saint-Denis Pleyel (GPE's main and North hub station) and to Orly airport. Both are important parts of the Grand Paris Express and the very first sections to open, which is a huge event. There's also the first phase of RER E's Western extension, with a 8km long tunnel under hyperdense central Paris and La Défense business district, 3 new big interchange stations, 2 of them being underground architectural marvels carrying on Paris RER tradition and love affair with huge cavernous underground cathedrals. And finally, circular tram line T3b being extended again to further advance the still incomplete tramway loop around the edge of Paris core. It will also serve one of the new RER E stations. All this is set to open in spring 2024, parts of it (22 or 23 out of the 30+ kilometers of new underground infrastructure) are the very first bits of the Grand Paris Express and altogether these various extended parts represent a capacity increase of at least 1+ million riders a day. Plus, they are true construction engineering and infrastructure developments, more than the river opening ceremony anyway. The Western extension of RER E isn't even part of GPE but is a major event : it is the first real significant RER extension in a quarter of a century. Stuffing the entire GPE in one video would be difficult anyway, given the size and scope of the project, the number of lines, stations and different designs, it would be far too much to fit in one video, or even in one video per line. It would however be easier to fit in videos for each stage opening : 14 new stations (6 on M11, 8 on M14) as part of GPE in 2024. 16 new stations in 2025 on M15 South... Given the video shows the major infrastructure events of 2024, this huge multi opening surely misses from the list.
Well it was all much a lot of marketing than reality. I am here and they have left all the constructions to be an eye sore, traffic sore and much else… France and French politicians are famous for getting big money delivering half promises… take it all with a grain of salt and also the opening freak ceremony and much else didn’t impress either
There's one major point about Paris that was left out : Transit ! In 2024, there are 4 important public transportation expansions set to open : The very first sections of the Grand Paris Express project, a humongous metro expansion. The 6 km Eastern extension of M11 towards Rosny Bois Perrier interchange station connecting with RER E and future M15 circular metro line (South section of M15 set to open in 2025). The short Northern (2.3km) and large Southern (14+ km) extensions of M14, the core backbone line of the GPE, up to the GPE's main hub station in the North, which is Saint-Denis Pleyel, and to Orly airport (Paris second one) in the South. Plus the first phase of the very large Western extension of RER E with 3 new major interchange stations along a new 8km long deep tunnel under the hyperdense core of Paris and La Défense business district: Porte Maillot / Neuilly station, a huge trapezoidal underground light-well under a skylight ground-roof and lined by rows of caged escalators. La Défense CNIT station, a giant cavernous underground cathedral that was built "like a mole" under the still functioning CNIT expo center by extending its foundations and creating a huge cavern underneath. During construction it looked a bit like Tokyo's flood reservoirs with its giant pillars. Nanterre la Folie station, a large, mostly open-air station built in a trench and partially covered by buildings. It will act as a partial terminus for some trains and thus has 6 or 7 tracks if I recall correctly. The new underground stations are gorgeous and continue on the "giant cavernous underground cathedral" legacy of Paris RER stations. The rest of the Western extension towards the far flung suburbs of the West will open later. And finally, the circular tramway line T3b's extension from Porte d'Asnières to Porte Dauphine, further advancing the still incomplete loop. It will serve Porte Maillot / Neuilly interchange and connect there with M1 and RER C & E. All opening in spring 2024, that's about 30 kilometers of new underground extensions plus a few others on the surface that are expected to increase capacity by at least 1+ million riders per day. Strange to not mention these as they truly are major construction engineering / infrastructure developments. They represent the first milestone and kick-start the massive acceleration of the Paris "transit-a-palooza" madness. (After a decade of mostly tramway lines, a dozen of them opening left and right, plus a few metro extensions, now comes the big and heavy stuff). Very interesting video as always, and happy new year Fred!

Probably because this video is just a collection of videos released 2023 and they just happen to not talk about this the whole past year. But cool that you mention this! Maybe they will make a video about this at some point :D
@@floschy_1 I'm going to lobby the GPE authorities for them to contact and invite Fred to do a thorough tour (or multiple tours) of the current and future developments. There are building sites by the hundreds and some are quite something to see. So that he can have plenty of footage and lots to talk about. Plus there are some interesting techniques, like ground hard freezing for unstable watery soil, already used more than a century ago for M4 with a lot more rudimentary equipment. The next major building / digging phase will start mid 2024 / mid 2025, with 2 dozen TBM's going back underground to dig the 80 something kilometers left of tunnels to be built. This project is like Crossrail power 10 with so much to see and talk about. Sadly, with much less media coverage. I'm dying for a GPE counterpart to BBC's "The fifteen billion pound railway", but nothing in sight yet... RER E's Western extension, although not part of GPE, would have been very interesting too, especially La Défense CNIT station, with its specific "mole" techniques through an underground car park due to the site lacking vertical access, the CNIT's foundations' extension, the huge cavern digging, etc. Same for the tunnel's access near Haussmann Saint-Lazare station, they had to reach the site laterally from a hole dug several streets away. And very few, very limited coverage of this, except the few videos from the building team which gave pretty generic and overly simplified info. These projects need Fred / The B1M quality videos!
It got a mention in the Sydney Metro section. But any top 10 will miss important projects. I'm guessing the list was a mix of 'what video do we already have', and mix of locations (Paris, Sydney, Taiwan, Toronto ..) and type (Metro, Sport stadia, skyscrapers ..). There were already two Paris projects and two other Metro Projects. Though I guess a mention in the general Paris section along with the water treatment facility and Notre Dame would have worked nicely.
Thanks for a really interesting video Fred . Fun fact about the Eiffel Tower - which featured in the background as you were talking about the temporary structures the French are constructing for the Olympics later this year - it was also meant to be temporary when it was initially constructed... Anyway, some cool projects arriving this year. Have a great 2024!
The infra upgrade projects in Mumbai definitely deserve a mention. A new airport, a 21km sealink that connects to that, the Coastal Road that redefines Mumbai's west coast, and the 14 metro lines at various stages of development, all deserve mention.
They kind of are in terms of a private company. Brightline is the only private company doing something about the highspeed rail for some parts of America.
The US just approved billions of dollars of funding for massive rail projects. Look up Amtraks Connect US plan. They plan on building out the network and adding like 60 plus new cities to the system by 2035

What about one on Elizabeth Quay in Perth , Western Australia. There’s a few tall buildings going up there and the area is done nicely. But I think the height restrictions have stopped the buildings being able to be built taller.
You missed Toronto's highest tower yet that is already under construction Pinnacle One Yonge at a height of 344.9m and 105 stories making Canada's new highest! Toronto is now seeing a race to the top!
The International Land Sea Center in Chongqing is in one of the many business districts, but isn't anywhere near where most people consider downtown. (Chongqing is truly massive.) Also it's on the Jialing river not the Yangtze.
This is one of my most watched channels! It would have been nice to see an update for some projects. For example, the recent work on the spire on Notre Dame.
Just thinking about the sheer scale of these projects, and the effect they'll have on countless human lives for decades to come, give me such humility. It helps me balance out my own demons. Thanks for everyone responsible for these projects.
Toronto currently has 3 supertall towers under construction at the moment along Yonge Street. 1 Bloor W is the first to complete, now scheduled to be completed in 2025.
So happy to see Kaohsiung on this list 😀 the city has been finishing up so many long term projects in the last few years. It’s becoming a much more modern and livable city.
true, i’m taiwanese and i can confirm Kaohsiung those years is really trying hard to renovate itself and get rid of the dirty industrial stereotype it once had.

I like the approach the french are taking with the Olympics using classic Locations like the Eiffel Tower with temporary arenas is genius and will probably be quiet iconic.

Just thinking about the sheer scale of these projects, and the effect they'll have on countless human lives for decades to come, give me such humility. It helps me balance out my own demons. Thanks for everyone responsible for these projects.
Love these videos!
Love being a part of the new sydney harbour tunnel works, did the geotech drilling
Absolutely amazing, only one North American project and it is in Canada. It's like the US isn't even trying anymore.
I swear all Sydney cares about is metro tho. They should do more for the normal rail as well
Such an interesting video! Cheers!
Happy New year 2024 Bro
Excited for the Olympics in Paris, and that stadium in Spain is beautiful.
2024 looks mighty impressive!🎇🥂🎇
Supertalls ok I am adding that to my vocabulary.
Beautiful as always
Toronto currently has 3 supertall towers under construction at the moment along Yonge Street. 1 Bloor W is the first to complete, now scheduled to be completed in 2025.
So happy to see Kaohsiung on this list 😀 the city has been finishing up so many long term projects in the last few years. It’s becoming a much more modern and livable city.
true, i’m taiwanese and i can confirm Kaohsiung those years is really trying hard to renovate itself and get rid of the dirty industrial stereotype it once had.
Noted this, thank you.
Happy New year to the B1M team and their viewers :D
Great vid as always! Would love to see a review of the 2023 version of this video and see how those projects got on 👍
Damn! I love The B1M! 😅
The narrator does a great job . He has the perfect smooth tenor … thx.
I ain't even an engineer or a builder, carpenter etc. ....but I reckon this channel is absolutely awesome.... cheers Fred & team 🤟✨

For info, several hundreds km of combines new metro lines and several high speed lines will open in China this year!
Love this channel, comment for algorithm
I love this guys voice !! I know it - yet I don’t !!! He could talk about anything and I’d listen!!!
happy new year 2024
*your video is very good*
Now this is pure magical content
As for any new year projects (I have some on my own, lot smaller than those in the video), now... let´s get to execute and deliver!
Another great insight into things we 'Arts' graduates would normally never know about. Thanks for the obvious effort you've made
6:55 new Skibidi stations 😂😂😂 skibidi bop bop bop bop bop #skibiditoilet #skibidishrek
Highly recommend anyone to travel to kaohsiung. Beautiful city albeit hot!
9:25 Its not anywhere close to Chongqings downtown, its quite a bit further up river
Top notch content.
The introduction of a Bitcoin ETF marks a groundbreaking moment in the cryptocurrency world, merging digital currencies with traditional investment methods. This innovation could stabilize Bitcoin prices and broaden its appeal to a wider range of investors, potentially increasing demand and value. At the heart of this evolution is Jason graystone fx, whose deep understanding of both cryptocurrency and traditional trading has been instrumental. Jason graystone fx
WhatI appreciate about Jason graystone fx is his ability to tailor strategies to individual needs. He recognizes that each investor has unique goals and risk tolerances, and he adapts his advice accordingly
In a field as rapidly evolving as cryptocurrency, staying updated is crucial. Jason Graystone fx continual research and adaptation to the latest market changes have been instrumental in helping me make informed decisions
jason. is about limiting losses when you're wrong and maximising gains when you're right, not about being correct all of the time
One thing I know for certain is crypto is here to stay, the only thing that leaves is the people who don't manage their risk. Manage that, or the market will manage it for you. With the right strategies you will survive
Wow this video really makes me realize we really are living in the future 😅
This is a great video and I really enjoyed watching it. It would have been nice to hear about something cool going on somewhere in Africa...
Wow, just wow at the underground grass nursery. Do they play lullabies too?
Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, India's longest sea bridge (and the world's 12th longest) at 22 kilometers, is set to open this month
best and nice video
“Kuala Lumpur has a thing for sky bridges” don’t we all 😍🤤🤤
I like the approach the french are taking with the Olympics using classic Locations like the Eiffel Tower with temporary arenas is genius and will probably be quiet iconic.
hope this vieo is up as it is. Some spicy takes. but I digress and woonderfull list. Love the Prais and french section.
You should take a look at the Oakridge park development in Vancouver, scheduled to be opened in 2025. Fascinating project!
TDG FULLSUPPORT ALWAYS THE B1M FOREVER BIG FAX
I wish they'd give the height in stories as well as meters. It's much easier to envision.
France is on the stage regarding construction projects : Olympics, Grand Paris Express, ITER, Lyon-Turin high speed train tunnel, Flamanville new generation nuclear plant. The French definitely know how to build 🇫🇷
well, 3 of the top 5 biggest construction companies are French
Great video 2x👍
Always brilliant videos
Thank you so much!!
No mention of the Gordy Howe Bridge. That's pretty major!
Didn't realize Toronto was building that I live there
The One in Toronto has gone into receivership and most likely will not be completed any time soon
very nice video (like usual), but one little thing.. please tell the editor to calm down with the tilting pictures i completely got sea sick by the end of the video xD
Agreed
These videos make me want to learn architect!
You should make a video about the next super tall in America. It's located in Monterrey, Mexico
Tower Rise 🎏
France doing all this and we can't even complete HS2, shame on Britain
06:30 Not Yangtze River, it's JiaLing River, the Branch of Yangtze River.
The image distortion effects made me dizzy :(
1:30 Feedback: That weird photo panning where the bottom is coming towards you and the photo is distorted is a smidge nausea inducing. I'm good with static photos.
Can't believe you didn't mention my garage conversion 😢😂
in this year, will be completing the mohamed vi tower in morocco
Great video, any thoughts on doing one closer to home, Be interested to see what's going on in the UK.
Top 10 Constructions Projects Completing In 2024 in the UK? Got to be some surely?
I like the idea of reusing infrastructure for the Olympics, I hope they keep the skateboarding in it?
Yeah Kaohsiung! And kudos for pronouncing it correctly!
Jeez. Spain is just like America. Investing too much into sports stadiums. Not enough into public infrastructure
why would Real Madrid invest in public infrastructure?..
With all of the challenges facing humanity's survival...this is the folly we choose to invest in. When it all goes sour (already happening), we will have nobody but ourselves to blame.
