That is terrible that the toilets are not functional and just poor hygienic condition .It is a poor reflection for a otherwise scenic journey . More attention should be paid as tourist look poorly on unacceptable toilet facilities .
I completely agree with geoffreyswan7866 that it is beyond unacceptable that there are no functioning toilets on this Batticaloa line train. This is an important transportation option for people in this area and given the beautiful beaches on this line, an improved train service would attract more tourists. Ranil, Johnston and all these other tourist board idiots keep talking about attracting more tourists to Sri Lanka, but can't see that such an important train link to a beautiful part of the country is completely neglected. Also, as @pasanmalinda9166 had asked, why can't they use a powerset on this line? The S12 blue train would be perfect for this journey and help the citizens in this area immensely.

Defenetly. SLR need to upgrade there train hygienic level. Many of trains did not washed for many years after the last paint
