We drove from mid Arizona for the race. We parked in lot L. Walked a ridiculously long way to the gates. We arrived early and it was not hot yet but as the day progressed it became unbearable due to the fact that there are no pavilions or places to hang out and get a break from the heat. Free water was warm. We paid for ours…$6.50 for a partially cold water. NO DECENT BATHROOM FACILITIES unless you spend a fortune. You get porta johns with camping sinks that you pump the water with your foot. Primitive. It would be nice if you rich jerks could spring for some decent bathrooms around the track where the cheap seats are. A sea of Porta johns…big plastic ovens to bake in while you…try to forget the human excrement you just saw. How is this ok with the health department? Born and raised in Florida, 48 years, moved to Az and have been here for 12 years. Heat has been my life. Cheap and po dunk. Texas…I thought you’d be better than this.
And just so you know, everyone around us was complaining. With what we will save by staying home, we can air condition the garage and afford to run the air conditioner the entire summer. Thanks COTA!
Just so everyone is aware, we were in the cheap section where a seat in a bleacher was $600. For each of us. With that you get a sea of Porta johns. Nasty excrement ridden Porta johns. I guess there isn’t enough oil in Texas to sell for adequate restroom facilities. So nasty.
I speak for a lot of people that I talked to and I looks like a lot of people will be doing the same thing we will be doing. Watching from home. F1 at this track is horrible unless you pay for the $2,000 tickets. You have to have REALLY deep pockets to get a decent place to go to the bathroom and wash your hands.
Next year we will save the $ and view the race from our comfy garage in Arizona. Cold beer, soda and water AND a decent bathroom. The trip wasn’t worth it.
