Hi! Thx for your comment 👍 As i've mentionned in the description and in some comments, it was my old Audi A4 Quattro with the 3.0L V6 Naturally aspirated engine (220hp) and the 5 speed TipTronnic gearbox. Very comfortable and pleasant to drive but not made for this type of roads... Now i have an RS5 with a 4.2 V8, 450hp, dual-clutch gearbox and a 10 times better châssis. And i plan to re-start shooting and uploading vids propably this fall when i'll have more free time 😉

@Zumb Amu @Carlo Soldev Borj Maybe if you had scrolled a bit more through comments you'd had found my multiples answers under the ton of comments like yours... It's ultra-wide FOV, above 160°, it means that the objects you see far left and far right of the screen are literally at the same height as the car. It's wider than what we are used to see in videos. Just take 10 seconds to cover the far left 15% and far right 15% of your screen (with paper sheets on desktop or with your thumbs on mobile) while playing the video, and you'll immediatly see what i want to say. Or if you're too lazy to do it just calculate the average speed, there's a 26.0Km road, covered in 23 minutes. Speed limit on this road is 80km/h. I was never above 90km/h during this ride, inside the village i was not even 1km/h above limit. I'm a train driver, i need my driving licence, i don't think it would be a good idea to post a video of me speeding on TH-cam, you don't think ? Btw thx for your comments!
@@SkieurValaisan Its alright I was just sensationalizing my comment!...there was nothing wrong w/ the driving.....10% past the limit is allowed by law anyway.....the reason that police car you passed by at your right side in the middle of the video didtn bother chasing you!.....I was just saying if you go below the limit you would have earned more "watch hours" from TH-cam, you know what I mean. Thats why other videos like this drive so slow, which I find boring. If I would make videos like this, Id do how youve done it.
Super. Merci viou mou. Bi jetzt seit 3 Jahr z'rück in Holland, und vermisse d'Bärgä und es ummefahre so wie du es machs. (Glücklich fährst niit wie es Opi)
Awesome video! I'm going on a road trip this year and want to film the passes with my Hero4-Black in 4K-Superview, so thanks to this video now I know what I can really expect from it!! (the Grimselpass will also be on my route) Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic video! Went to Wengen a couple of summers ago and it was amazing! Such a beautiful country with stunning landscapes. Sadly, we don’t really have any mountainous regions out in Wisconsin
We do. Jamaica has some incredible twisting roads that start beneath the mountains and go around them. They're nice. You just have to know where to look for them.
Hi! It's the same here, 80km/h is the max limit on non-highway roads like this... I've already told that this is the ultra-wide angle who gives that impression of speed... But for the 12yo internet-detectives who still fight with me on this point, i've a very simple answer... There's a link in description with the exact route i've used, it's26 km long, and i've covered it in 24 minutes, so, an average speed of 65 Km/h !! (Cuz there's villages limited at 50 and other portions of the roads limited at 60) My max speed, when i overtake the little car near the end, was not greater than 90km/h, but as i've said, that's the ultra-wide angle who makes everything looks like i'm driving 140km/h lol, cover the 1/8th left and right sides of your screen with paper, the impression of speed is gone... Thx for your comment and have a nice day!
Hi! Thank you and happy new year! The car is an Audi A4 Sedan from 2002 (B6), Quattro, with a 220hp V6 N/A engine and Tiptronic gearbox. I still drive it today, as my secondary/winter car (i have an RS5 too since 2018 as daily). The A4 has 201'000km now and still run like a charm!
I have been watching this video for years in hope that i could make the same trip. I finally made it and it exceed every expectation. I made my own driving video, which i uploaded on my account.
Hi! It's impossible to say, because it depends entirely on what you plan to do, what class of hotel you want, from what country you fly, how you are moving inside the country, how do you eat, etc... For a mid class hodel room with breakfast it's minimum 100$ equivalent per night. For a simple dinner at a restaurant it's between 25 and 50 $ equivalent per person. For a train ticket for a 100km (1h) trip inside the country it's between 30 and 40 $ equivalent. Ill guess, if we don't take the flight in account, you'll need AT LEAST 2'000 USD equivelent for a 10 days trip if you wana do something...
Hi! Thx a lot for your comment! Strictly officially, it's like everywhere, complicated. But in practice, there's absolutly no problem with filming from a car, especially in mountain roads. I suggest to place the cam inside to better balance wind noise / engine sound. If placed outside, wind noise at higher speeds tends to saturate the mic.
@@SkieurValaisan Thanks for your reply! Yeah, exactly - it is complicated and I wasn't sure if I could do that without getting in trouble... haha I mean there's lots of 'driving in Switzerland/Austria' videos on TH-cam and I just don't get it... But anyway, what you're saying is there's no problem with filming in Switzerland at all, am I correct? If so, then you calmed me down:) As to camera itself you're probably right but I'd like to catch as much as I can during driving so it'd be best for me to mount it outside the car. Besides I'd delete the sound from the footage anyway, but thanks for your suggestion:)
To go on such trip through Alps, from Vienna through Austria and Switzerland, to Geneva... well, sort of a dream for me. What a waste of a magnificent landscapes though, to ride there with a car. Better take good shoes, backpack and a tent and go for a walk. ;)
+Hordeman89 I don't know about you, but as happy as I am with my career, I can't afford to lose a few months walking through the Alps when I can do it faster and in a much more convenient manner in a car with a boot. You can see equal amounts of landscape in a car and will be able to go offroad if you have an SUV.

Hey man nice views...just a small question I'm vising CH this summer will the speed limits on the road you were driving on be 80?? Or I can go faster??
Hi! Thx for your comment. Yes the general speed limit on this road outside the villages is 80km/h. There's some portions at 60 and inside villages it's max. 50km/h. I strongly advice you respect these as there's a lot of mobile speed-traps on these roads in summer...
@@SkieurValaisan so basically I can go 80 when I see 50 crossed but I have to slow down when a mandate speed is mentioned.. right?(because I heard they fine you even if you are 1km/h above the limit)
Exactly! There won't always be a 50 crossed / 60 crossed. Sometimes you'll see a white cicrle with black "//" it says "return to default speed", wich is 80 outside towns / 100 on semi-highway and 120 on highway. You'll find everything you need to know about circulation rules for your roadtrip here: www.ch.ch/en/how-behave-road-traffic/
There's this PDF too, with ALL the signs and their description: www.englishforum.ch/attachments/transportation-driving/127643d1501524546-swiss-road-signs-road-signs-switzerland-wikipedia.pdf
Hi Sydney! Thx for your comments. Regarding the speed, as explained multiple times on different comments under this vid, this is an optical "illusion" of speed created by the ultra ultra wide angle used to film this. The objects you see on the far left / far right of the image are almost at the level of the car, so they are passing at very high speed on the image. I was driving at approx. 50-55mph, speed limit on these roads (except stated otherwise / in towns) is 80km/h wich is close to 50mph. One funny thing you can do is taking two sheets of paper, and masking the far left / far right 15% of the screen, and you will see the "perceived" speed is much slower than with the ultra wide vision angle 😉
What about the 10 seconds between 17:38 and 17:48 when i had full visibility on the next 600 meters ?? Do u think i want to die ?? Do u think i don't know what i'm doing ?? I had full visibility for the past 10 seconds of all the section i needed to overpass this car. I don't believe in teleportation so i had good reasons to think that 1 second later the 200 meters i needed to overpass this car where still free! Re-watch from 17:30, be a little smarter and tell me what do u think of that now pls 😉
What a fool I am. Until you pointed it out, I DID think you wanted to die. And, amazingly, I DID think you don't know what you're doing. How did you know these things - my actual THOUGHTS??!! I am so impressed! As you suggested, I WANT to be a little smarter. JUST A LITTLE! But I can't - it is not in me. You Skivvy! You are the smart one. SkieurValaisan
you were cruising at breakneck speed as you stepped heavy on the gas and the engine was roaring ,too dangerous for a young lady even if shes good at the wheels .any way, it was exciting like need for speed
Hi! Thx for asking! You can use it only with conditions: You can't monetize it / can't put ads on a vid if you use my video. You can't just repost it as it is. You need to add something, like a song, texts, etc... You NEED to credit me in the video description, with link to original vid and to my channel / Instagram. You can't use it to promote anything related to religion, politics, or any other sensible subject. Thx.
+Altiise Hi Altiise! Thx for your comment, and thx for asking before using it. If it's for a live performance and if it will not be uploaded online, i give you with pleasure the permission to use it freely. You don't even need to credit me / watermark the vid, but i would appreciate if you mention my Channel if someone ask you something about this vid. Thx for your comment and your interest! Have a nice day!
Hi! Thx for your comment! Nope it's an old Audi A4 (i've mentionned it in the description) with the 3.0L N/A V6 220hp. If you find a way to put a BMW engine and frame, on an Audi car, i'll take it. Otherwise i'll stick with Audi ;)
SkieurValaisan Shame on me: I own an Audi A4 Avant Autom. (2003) which btw still runs great with 229000km. I should have recognized the engine "music". I love driving in the Swiss mountain roads. Have a great week.
Hi Vicky! Thx for your comment! It has already been answered and explained below but i will rewrite that for you, that's the ultra-wide angle of the camera lenses that create this impression of "speed". Do u really think that i would have uploaded a vid of me breaking the law on a channel that anyone can link to my real name and adress with 2 clicks on google ? Do u even know what are the speed limits in Switzerland for such roads ? It's 80km/h (approx. 50mph in weired units...) and i never exceeded 90km/h... I'm a train driver, i loose my job if i loose my driving liscence... so i can assure you that i wasn't driving "way too fast". If you have, one day, the opportunity to record yourself driving around with a GoPro Hero4 in ultra-wide settings, you'll be very surprised when you will look at the footage... Btw thx for your comment and have a nice day!
Hi Mr. Internet detective! FYI the "default" speed limit on those roads here in Switzerland is 80km/h! I've already explained numerous of time that the ultra-wide mode of the GoPro makes everything looks much faster that this is in reality... Try to cover the extreme left and extreme right of your screenn, you'll see that i was driving under 90 km/h.
Hi! It's in the description, but just for you: Audi A4 Quattro Sedan B6 (2002) - With the Petrol V6 naturally aspirated engine. (220 ps) - The sound is better on this one cuz i've suppressed the two (right and left)last exhaust silencers. (The 2x catalyzers, 2x pre-catalyzer and central silencer are stock and untouched)
Hi Andrew! You are right but this was answered in the comments of another vid so that's a completly legitimate question! I use "The Frame" skeletton mount from GoPro. Fixed to the windshield with the original GoPro "3M stickers" base plate. It's fixed upside down. Here's a link to the mount on the GoPro shop: shop.gopro.com/EMEA/mounts/the-frame/ANDFR-302.html And here's two pics of this exact installation in my own car: fabienseuret.ch/youtube/SkiVal_GoPro_TheFrame_1.JPG fabienseuret.ch/youtube/SkiVal_GoPro_TheFrame_2.JPG The stability of this mount in this configuration is exceptionnal! It's incredibly stable and the big PLUS it the 2x better cooling than in the original closed case... So it don't crash in 4K SuperView after 3 minutes ;) Thx for your comment and have a nice day!
@@SkieurValaisan Very nice video and I have the same question. However, it seems that the links of two installation pics are invalid. Could you please share them again? Many thanks.
@@chihweiyu Hi! Thx for the comment and thx for your question. Sorry for the broken links, i've re-uploaded the same files to the same directory so you can now use the pictures links from my previous comment and they should work. Feel free to ask if there's still any problem or question.
@@SkieurValaisan Thank you very much for your reply and sharing. I have another question. Did you do anything else to record/edit the sound of your car? Or, you just kept silence when driving and let your GoPro record the sound directly? Many thanks.

There's this PDF too, with ALL the signs and their description: www.englishforum.ch/attachments/transportation-driving/127643d1501524546-swiss-road-signs-road-signs-switzerland-wikipedia.pdf
@@SkieurValaisan thank a lot
That's real time what's your name speedy Gonzales I enjoyed it
It appears to me at 17:49 you had limited visibility - not sufficient to safely pass another car.
Can i use this video??
Thx.
Hi! Great video :) Can I use this for a live performance?
+Altiise Hi Altiise! Thx for your comment, and thx for asking before using it. If it's for a live performance and if it will not be uploaded online, i give you with pleasure the permission to use it freely. You don't even need to credit me / watermark the vid, but i would appreciate if you mention my Channel if someone ask you something about this vid. Thx for your comment and your interest! Have a nice day!
beautiful. and absolutely! thank you!
beautifull 💕 :3
Nice mountain road, good driver.
Car: BMW?
Great Great Great!!!!!!
More please +1
Believe me it's same as north pakistan .
every scene is wallpaper
Hello 🙋
While the landscape is absolutely gorgeous he is driving way to fast!
The only signage seen here is 60 km/hr or about 40 mph and this was no 40 mph. What is up?
And the approaching traffic is tagging the center line at less than half your rate.
Default? There are 60km/hr signs on your route.
I like
Try play this at 2X speed.
cool
What is the car? Very nice sounding
SkieurValaisan Thanks great car an video keep it up

What are you using to mount your GoPro? Sorry if you've already answered this!
Hi Andrew! You are right but this was answered in the comments of another vid so that's a completly legitimate question!
I use "The Frame" skeletton mount from GoPro. Fixed to the windshield with the original GoPro "3M stickers" base plate. It's fixed upside down.
Here's a link to the mount on the GoPro shop: shop.gopro.com/EMEA/mounts/the-frame/ANDFR-302.html
And here's two pics of this exact installation in my own car:
fabienseuret.ch/youtube/SkiVal_GoPro_TheFrame_1.JPG
fabienseuret.ch/youtube/SkiVal_GoPro_TheFrame_2.JPG
The stability of this mount in this configuration is exceptionnal! It's incredibly stable and the big PLUS it the 2x better cooling than in the original closed case... So it don't crash in 4K SuperView after 3 minutes ;)
Thx for your comment and have a nice day!
