We spent 4 glorious days there when we went to Europe. First Prague for 8 days, then Hallstatt then Zermatt then Zurich Switzerland for total of 4 days. Prague is one of our favourite cities, but Hallstatt is a close second. I’d stay there again for a longer stay if it was possible. Even the one day when it was cloudy with fog, it was magical. Visit this place, you will not regret. We stayed at one of the hotels on the water, Heritage Hotel Restaurant and Cafe.
I have been there with the wife a few years ago in winter. It’s the most tranquil place on earth. We also liked the boat from the train station to Hallstatt.

This is the BEST video I have seen of Hallstatt. It shows the village in its entirety with its mountains and the lake at a slow speed so that we can absorb the magical beauty of this place.
