Cap, for the last question, you needed to use bodmas. Multiplication comes before addition, the order if bodmas is brackets, order, division, multiplication, addition and subtraction (in that order). And yes, I know I'm late.

E: Exponents (Then, we would do any exponents in the equation. We have none here, but just imagine it.)
M: Multiplication (Now we multiply. "3x5 = 15", giving us 6 - 15
D: Division (Some say you have to multiply before you divide, but I feel like it goes hand in hand. If we had division in this problem, I'd do it left-to-right (meaning whichever comes first) with the multiplication instead of multiplying.
A: Addition ( Finally, we add and subtract. Same as the Multiply / Divide, I put these on the same layer.)
S: Subtraction (Subtraction, which will be the end to our problem, gives us -9.)
So, we do what's in parentheses first, then do the exponents, then any multiplication or division, then we add or subtract.
If we just did this problem left to right, it would end up as "6-3 = 3. 10/2=5. 5x3=15."
TLDR: its just another stupid math rule telling you how / what to do with the magical numbers we made up

But it wasn’t. In order of operations you do multiplication before addition. 1 * 9 = 9. 5 + 9 = 14.
