Just finished watching it. Met expectations as the scariest film of the year. A detailed, character-based study of (folk) spirituality/faith/mysticism and karma challenged by diabolical evil, the film shares the inescapable, escalating dread and familial annihilation of "Hereditary." It's a slow but steadily escalating build to a climactic "Exorcist" meets "Noroi/REC" confrontation that is as hellish, gory, and unsparingly chaotic as I've seen in any horror film. Definitely a must-watch this Halloween season.

Just watched it, scored 9.5/10. Really hell damn scary, initially i thought is a documentary, everything was so real until i go search for thr cast of the movie to realised it is faked..thats how realistic this movie is made. Truly a masterpiece.

@@follc1991 its BETTER than the Wailing, hands down. It's like the Wailing but didn't hold back in gore and certain aspects, where I felt the Wailing was lacking. Better character developement too

I was really creeped out by the first half of the film. I liked the slow approach it took, the feeling of dread it instill as it gradually led us to the climax. Though the ending was a little too cliche for my taste, it was still a great film. A fantastic collaboration.
I’m half Thai/Laos myself. I do believe in ghosts/spirits/evil possessions. Mink was one crazy person! 👀This movie was pretty good. Asian horror movies are more scarier/“realistic,”, compared to most American scary movies. I want more of this.. 👍

This movie is the co-operation between Korean producer " Na hong Jin" and Thai director "Banjong" to work with Thai & Korean screen writer team. Rang-Song in Thai = the Medium. Banjong Pisantanakun is the director of " Shutter" movie from GDH.
This movie works on many different levels. One of the best Horror movie I have ever watched. It's an imperfect perfection. 👍💯

This is the most unscary scary movie i've ever watched, don't get me wrong, this is a solid 9/10, up there with many great film, the characters are well played, the narrative is really relatable (maybe bc i'm an eastern asian myself) every single thing is this movie is believable, at the end i was so invested i nearly forgot i'm watching a movie, and EVERY SINGLE ACTOR/RESSES ARE AMAZING, definitely rewatching it in the future, it's a movie about character not a ghost, reminded me a lot of the shining, it's not a horror, it's psychological thriller and man it's really moving at some point

Finished few hours ago, in the beginning I had my doubts but this movie delivered horror on a different level, do watch this movie it's far more scaring than the trailer, trailer is just the tip of the ice berg, best horror movie since hereditary and wailing.

For anyone looking for a typical hollywood style action scary movie with lots of jump scare, this isn't it. This is a lot closer to hereditary than say, the conjuring. I would place most mainstream hollywood "horror" movies as scary movie and something like this and like the hereditary as proper horror movies. This is one of those where you need to pay attention to the details and it'll probably leave you terrified. Very eerie film.

Very well done. Definitely a good horror movie. Judging by the comments in this thread I expected something more original. Generally it sticks with the same tropes from every exorcism film, but within the context of Thai spirituality. I do appreciate the ending taking a different route than every other cliche movie in this genre.

Just watched this. This was really good and disturbing. I was on the edge of my seat most of the film
i just finished and i have to say.... holy shit. i've seen so many horror movies but the only ones that have truly terrified me are ju on, the conjuring, annabelle creation, and now this.
the fact that it's a documentary-type film makes watching even more scary because it feels like we the audience are the cameramen.
the beginning (first 10mins or so) was super boring but after the blind lady passed away, things got very intense and kept me on the edge of my seat.
[SPOILERS BELOW]
i wish we found out why mink acted so child like. that plus all the bleeding made me think she was possessed by some child who got raped/pregnant then murdered. but apparently not.
in that case, who was the "main" demon who possessed mink? i remember she described a dream where a man cut the head off of someone (later implied to be ban yan). who was that man?
the story also mentioned mac a few times. i thought his backstory would be related to mink's posession but they stopped mentioning him in the rest of the movie so...
there's a lot of questions i have but most horror movies never explain these anyway.
i give "the medium" a 9/10. wonderful acting to all the cast but especially the one who played mink.
perhaps i shouldn't have watched this at night. i'll have a hard time sleeping...
edit: OH YEAHHH. fuck pang. she killed everyone. and the cameramen could've helped prevent things but nahh they just stood there and filmed like real npcs. 🧍♂️
i know i complained a lot but i still love the movie overall! i think it's my favorite horror film.
About the man who cut the head off of someone is indicating that it is related of her father's ancestry's misdeeds and it past through generations of their clan and at last mink is the one who payed that casualties of their actions! And i think if nim didn't die or doubt bayan truly possessing her she could've saved her niece and help Shanti to stop this curse that's consuming them one by one
This movie is something... Only thing that I'm bummed about is this not being in theatres. But it's a good one

Scariest horror movie i watched yet and horror doesn’t make me feel anything like 99% of the time, i watch horror movies at night with earphones in and while stoned just to feel something and this one sure made me feel some, hard reccomend to anyone who wants to experience horror like they used too, solid 9,8/10

This movie was amazing, until the ending. The acting was phenomenal, the storyline original and solid. The ending to me really let it down, it just became like all typical hollywood horror movie endings. Still highly recommend it though!

Thai people are superstitious. If your favorite color for a car was white and you decided to buy a white one, but then realized that white isn’t your lucky color (shaman fortune teller or monk can tel or you just know it), you can print a sticker saying 'this car is red' or any other color that matches your luck. This could imply that it doesn’t matter as long as you believe in something or it depends on how you like to interpret.
