Rotisserie Chiggen of course she would want to know when she made noise, otherwise she would have no knowledge of the threat that monsters could come for her.
If the aliens ears are sensitive enough to hear a noise down a basement in a forest hundreds of meters away. This would mean that any kind of earrape would blow up their ears
Exactly and humans are pretty good at exploiting sensory overload with weapons from flash bangs, smoke bombs, stink bombs, chalk board scratching lol, how did no one figure out how to overload the one sense that the creatures seem to use?. They don’t smell, they don’t see, all they do is hear and touch, since their skin is tough then all you have to focus on is their hearing so how the hell did humans get fucked over lol.
@@tonypeppermint5329 more likely the exact frequency they were having feedback at. Which is why it also worked when broadcasted. So you could just blast that frequency over all radio and tv stations. Problem solved.
He has the shotgun under the blanket because he was loading it. Loading a shotgun makes a fair bit of noise. I'm not certain why it wasn't loaded in the first place though. Doesn't seem like the kind of the world where having any gun unloaded at any time would be preferable.
Dr. Froggle probably wasnt loaded so the kids didnt use it n get hurt maybe? Like i get in a world like that they should be ready but some kids just aint that strong minded to use it instead of getting scared
Also, barefoot? Does it really stay that warm where the farm is that they can always move around barefoot? It looks like a place where it would be colder during the winter months.
@@pohjanakka4992 Human bodies can adapt to harsh environment within reasonable parameters. Being barefooted in that place would not be that problematic, they are not in a snowy place where temperatures go below 0.
Thats what my first thought was at the end. Like they never came across a dog trainer whose dog wandered so they blew it "silently" to protect the dog and see alien retreat.
This is a great one, but I disagree about her hearing aid. I most certainly would want to hear in a world where it's supposed to be quiet. It's would be extremely vital to your survival to keep an ear out for any sound at all.
My question is will they aliens be able to hear the hearing aid? Its like the equivalent of putting on headphones to listen to music and just assuming they wont hear it. Am I missing something?
Actually the aliens in this movie are so hopeless it is comedic. They have tough exoskeletons that are able to deflect small caliber fire, sure. But apart from that they: A) Are confirmed to be carbon-based organisms, since they consume and metabolize earth animals. Therefore they can be killed by ANYTHING above basic handguns/shotguns/light assault rifles. They can be killed by large caliber weapons, napalm/phosphorus, c4, artillery, acid, missiles etc, etc... B) They possess absolutely no form of technology or any kind of natural ranged weaponry apart from melee ranged natural attacks, making it impossible for them to actually breach any fortified position or fight against air and heavy armored vehicle units. C) They seem to possess only animal-level intellect since their only strategy is to troll around and mindlessly charge any source of sound; a trait that makes it almost completely effortless for humans to lure them into traps. The way these aliens were imagined makes them completely incapable of actually taking over earth. They would be a pain to exterminate completely, but they could only hope to become a pest at best. They actually managed to make them even worse than the aliens from "signs"... All the above painfully obvious points make the story so completely stupid and implausible, that it never manages to immerse the viewer or to be taken seriously. PS: How DID they arrive on earth again? Quite a feat for a species that has no vision and specializes in keen hearing to navigate space.. you know, where sound does not really exist and all... PS2: Before anyone rushes to counter my points: What the filmmakers had in their tiny little minds is irrelevant. What is shown in the movie is the only facts. And in the movie they can die (pretty easily to boot). If the filmmakers wanted to make a movie about indestructible aliens that can survive nuclear bombs then they should have made another movie...
Clearly hollywood don't know my people. You give us county boys an animal that's that easy to bait, somebody's gonna have to put bag limits on em or we'll DEFINITELY hunt these things to extinction.
Don't know if this was the director or writer's justification, but apparently the creatures came to Earth because their planet exploded. In a literal fashion, the detonation sends the creatures halfway across the galaxy and happen to crash into Earth. This is apparently "Making the monster realistic." I fucking hate Hollywood writers so much.
@@dannylamb456 Well in that case it is even more stupid. They actually mean to tell us that this species evolved with the capability to survive in no atmosphere and some form of hibernation (because I'm guessing those planet pieces did not have private ecosystems) BEFORE their planet exploded. Damn, is this pre-emptive evolution or what.. :P
@@fanispatitsas2192 Indeed. I'm just unreasonably angry when thinking about this film. If this sort of utter shit worldbuilding and writing is what gets you not only a movie deal but a sequel, then I'm probably overqualified for Hollywood.
@@LightAndDarkMdness02 Better question: How did they survive their home planet exploding and launching them through the vacuum of space, halfway across a galaxy to reach Earth, and then the impact after entering the atmosphere... and then dying to a fucking shotgun?
Maybe she wants to hear in case she makes a noise and knows to get out of Dodge bc if she can't hear, what if something makes a noise and zones in on her, she'd never know
santi 15 im pretty sure she wanted to hear because her brother died and she felt like she was at fault because she couldn't get the toy away from him and she doesn't want something like that to happen again.
@@jborrego2406 her child brain didn't think her brother would grab the batteries and put them in the toy after their father put them on the counter. Every kid does stupid shit growing up.
Don’t forget the fireworks. The fireworks mid-movie, were louder than the gunshot during the end scene. I’m sure that all the aliens in the area would be attracted to the direction of the fireworks. Which would be more of a problem to deal with. Also why wouldn’t they set up the fireworks at a marked location in the nearby forest. It would get the aliens away from the farm, and give them all time to go into hiding.. or get away.
Elijah Turner they can’t run away because they don’t know if crazy people like the old man are out there or not and they don’t know where survivors are. They are isolated remember and even if they have a small town near by, they don’t know if there are more monsters there or near the farm. There are a total of 6 monsters shown and since this is a global invasion there will be much more
I don't think the old man was crazy. I think he was with the dead woman and he finally reached the end of the rope for himself. He couldn't take it anymore.
@@HullsColby - Unlike sand, which could conceivably just be laid down once, corn powder would have to be regularly replaced, as it rotted, blew away, was eaten by insects, etc -- so we're talking a whole lot of corn powder here...just sayin'...
One of my all time favorite things is pointing out inconsistencies and stupid decisions in movies and you nailed it in this one. Sometimes movie goers forget the amount of time, money, and people it takes to make a movie and to have movies surround stupid people government and military is an insane amount of laziness.
I think the whole world wasn't entirely whipped out and there is still a good chunk of humanity out there, but imagine trying to form a community with strangers around these things. Forming relationships, befriending others, settling rules and communicating guidelines. Nothing could be done about any of that in an easy and even tempered enough manner to form bigger groups for long. Not to mention one person makes a sound the entire group dies.
Not necessarily. If someone makes a sound , it kills thems , but only puts the other people in danger if they react to it. More minds has huge advantages. Not to mention man power. Although theres always gonna be stupid people out there.
Sam Reckoning well, if you wanna get that gnats ass about it, no one would survive. Fortunately, it’s just a movie. And never did they mention that they can hear your heartbeat..
A B Music n More erasing the heartbeat thing. No matter how used to it you get, someone getting fucked right in front of your face, will have you react. If only for defense in case you're next. You expect to be standing or traveling next to a person, they fuck up, the alien launches on them, and DOESN'T knock you down in the process..creating your thud AND your gasp for breath after the hit? Or they don't knock you down, but just bump into you with force...or knock something else over that hits you. Or the blood and bones of the victim flying off hitting you in the eyes or other places....or just that you d idnt even know they were that close and it all happens quickly and loudly making you startled.... Big groups are a bad idea in THIS situation....UNLESS you're by other noise making areas like rivers and such
Thank you! I thought I was going crazy watching these crazy stoopid people! Love the effort you put it your videos. Hope to see more from you, because that is my biggest complaint about movies, idiots doing moronic things. You put words to what I was thinking and that's cool.
1. Socks don't muffle all sound. Try it out. Step in twigs. He used the sand to not only muffle sound but also as a way to make sure there is nothing to make noise. 2. Imagine being deaf and not be able to hear if one of those monsters was around you or if your family was in trouble.... Town probably had more survivors at the begging. It would be better to be isolated. .... it's all about perspective. And a script that could make sense and fit with the tone and time allowed by the studio.
13:14 A movie about a dedicated driver warning everyone with advice/documentation on how to survive during a deadly apocalypse in progress would be one helluva good idea! The Paperboy: Death Run 2023
10:51 I'm sorry but if you may not noticed when the woman shot the alien, it's armour was spread out on its head showing off the weak spot which is it's inner flesh??, as it obviously kills it. (sorry, just correcting you)
Also for the end part (For the lights) They didn't know that high sounds during the time could hurt them until the daughter found out about it and used her hearing aid on the speakers to harm the creature.
That's the kind of bullshit that AL is driving at. During the entire time Earth was being overrun by the aliens we're expected to believe that a couple of bumpkins figured out what none of the greatest scientific and military minds on Earth could?
+Rashkiekah Love Toshinori yagi But it's not even about hurting the creature with loud sounds. In the movie, they already established that rivers and falls act as safe zones because they can't distinguish the sounds. So why not a loud blaring alarm that masks all the sounds that could happen in the area? Though, any sound should be able to hurt them if it's loud enough.. humans have poor hearing compared to other creatures.. but if a sound is loud enough, it starts to hurt. The same should be with the creatures, especially since they have sensitive hearing.
+Ken Harris I know, right? If there's one thing that mankind has excelled in through the ages, it's been making things dead; especially when we've been backed into a corner.
I'm an audiologist and hearing aid specialist. That scene with the hearing aid is beyond stupid. Hearing aids are not rocket science. What you hear in the movie, the "special weakness", is just a regular, acoustic feedback. You'll get the exact same thing if you take a microphone and walk too close to a speaker. It's just a feedback loop and actually a mix of frequencies. Even worse, hearing aids have systems build in place to actively avoid that, because it's obvious a pain for the user: phase modulation, phase reversal, frequency shift. Obviously people would have figured out, that an acoustic feedback hurts the aliens. A creature being super sensitive to sound probably doesn't like it way too loud. Also hearing organs are very sensitive to shock ... like explosions for example. Which is why explosions are literally defining and often cause permanent damage to ears. Also the hearing organ is connected to the balance organ. Probably the same thing with the aliens, cause they're visibly disoriented by the feedback. So ... the "logical" conclusion is that the military didn't bomb the aliens? Yeah ... right. Also a space faring race that's blind and can only hear? In space no one can hear you scream (pun intended). How are you supposed to navigate the absolute silence, that is space, if you're blind? SO FUCKING STUPID!
@6:15 I agree with everything....except for this part. I live in farm country. My house is essentially surrounded by fields. However, we also have a few sand pits pretty close by. Not sure how _common_ that is in other areas, but, at the very least, both farmland and plenty of sand are readily available here. .....Even then, it would be a tedious, time consuming and a horribly inefficient idea to muffle sound. Especially when, in this situation, your time would be better spent preparing for the inevitable disaster of having a baby.
The issue i have with the "earth is wiped out" stories is that it's just not plausible. Movie makers always seem to forget just how destructive humans can and will be if they're pushed up against the wall, and sure there'd be some losses at the start but then people would organize and start using their sound sensitivity against them and resort to more powerful armaments to ensure a kill.
Acid Chaos The Creeper What if’s are horrible stories if you throw all logic, reason out the window and aren’t able to explain their what if’s; along with everyone in the world requiring to be afflicted with the stupid bat treatment
Acid Chaos The Creeper Exactly. To play devil's advocate, I could see this story working where life on earth is on the backfoot if the things were stealth killers or had a way of propagation where we couldn't stop it. This one though, it's just... bad.
You know how these things got to Earth? Their fucking homeworld blew up and they flew through the void of space presumably over the course of thousands, if not millions of years, only to crash land on Earth. Apparently they also tried nuking the things on a few occasions, but with no results. Seriously, look it up. It's ridiculous.
+Brutalyte616 And that makes them entirely untenable as an organism. Regardless of how hard the outer shell of the creature was, the forces and impacts on that level would destroy the creature's insides; but assuming that is the reality of the creature, a shotgun wouldn't kill the creatures, armoured carapace or no. These creatures (and this movie) is stupid from start to finish.
frostmagemarii I'm of the mind that they're some kind of bio-engineered superweapon, probably intended to slowly wipe out a planet's major lifeforms. Then again, all of the information that serves as the basis for this theory comes from outside the movie itself; they could just as easily be some kind of unnatural multi-dimensional creature that somehow got trapped on Earth, which would explain how a relatively small number of organisms like this could menace an entire planet. After all, common sense kind of flies out the window when you start talking about 4th-dimensional entities from a 3rd-dimensional perspective, even in regards to the laws of physics.
I agree with everything expect the girl wanting to hear. When sound is dangerous and you're deaf, you can't monitor your own sound levels if you can't hear them, can't tell if you're near sound/someone else is making noise and can't hear danger.
The reason they made the sand trail is because they lived in a farm. Surrounded by forest. With leaves on the ground. Leaves won’t just stop making sound if you put on socks. Your foot stops making sound when you put on socks because your sweaty foot doesn’t stick to the tile/wood/whatever or slap on it when you’re running, but because it’s leaves and not tile/wood/whatever, it doesn’t work like that. Leaves will always crunch no matter what is stepping/pressing/whatever on them.
She wants the hearing aid because she wants to go on foraging trips with her dad. But he doesn’t trust her to go because she can’t hear how much noise she makes
It did, that is why the armor opens up, to protect the soft insides, this applies to anything living with a hard exterior, to protect what is inside as it is soft unlike the outside,
It's Ya Boi Daniel Actually... not really. All it would need is the ability to hibernate in a near death state, and withstand intense cold and heat for space travel and atmospheric reentry, respectively. We actually have an example of an animal that can do exactly that: the Water Bear, which is soft and squishy. Even if they did need armour to protect them from the fall, that wouldn't necessarily make them bulletproof. See, different attacks require different defenses: kevlar is bulletproof, but knives cut right through it; steel isn't good at stopping bullets, but knives are all but useless; crematic plates can stop bullets and knives, but a full suit would be too heavy to stand, much less fight, wearing. And none of the 3 materials I just mentioned will protect you from anti-tank weapons, unless their thickness is measured in inches, which these creatres' clearly is not.
+GlassGolem well the creature is an alien, and thus from an alien planet, and who knows what kinds of undiscovered atoms and compounds exist on it that could allow the creature to be highly resistant to our weapons, that might seem like a cheap excuse to some people but is it really that wrong? Alien creature, Alien planet, Alien compounds and materials and other stuff,
Enjoyed the "logic" of your video. I agree with most scenarios, especially the one about wearing socks! However, I don't know if I agree with you about the daughter's hearing aid. Although she was deaf or had a severe hearing impediment, I think the rationale behind her hearing aid being so important to work, was not only for the alien's demise, as the movie cleverly depicts, but wouldn't you want to hear when danger approaches? The aliens do make noises when they are near which is a helpful benefit to the family. They can hear the impending danger and have the ability to do something about it, hide or fight or run. I think in terms of a deaf person standing /walking down the street and a runaway bus is headed right behind them....horn honking maybe breaks screeching... unless someone alerts them about the oncoming threat, they would be wiped out by the runaway bus. There is a movie called "HUSH" about a deaf girl living alone in the woods, secluded, and an intruder breaks in and torments her, trying to kill her. If you haven't already seen it, you should check it out. I bring this to your attention only because the premise is the same, however it shows how your other senses are honed in on in the scope of survival. Thanks again!
1. Considering on the silo scene you can see other lights, there are other people. The old man and his wife another example of other survivors. 2. They were still operating a farm, they were probably providing food for those in the area. 3. Heading in a no noise world is actually crucial to her being aware of the sound she’s making herself while also having situational awareness. 4. The pregnancy was supposedly accidental, brought on by grief stricken sex. they are trying to prepare the house because it’s either that or killing the baby inside her. Risky and painful. 5. It is far more stupid to test the sound proof room instead of do everything you can and take all precautions first. Test sound room and it fails, dead. 6. It would be ridiculous to try to move materials to build near the water fall. Imagine carrying wood through the woods, good luck. 6. They don’t need to and no good would come from calling for help, no one at the earlier points of the movie know how to kill the creatures, and they’re living just fine as is. 7. It would be even more ridiculous to set up a bunch of super loud speakers, they can find and destroy them, which they would. The reason they avoid the waterfall is because it’s noise they can’t do anything about. 8. He’s loading the shotgun under the covers to muffle sound. 9. The aliens can’t see, this why they never see the lights.... and again it would take them seconds to destroy a stereo. 10. The nail is flat head up not point up, meaning it’s in correctly but is not driven into the wood meaning it could have been there before and instead of trying to pull it out or HAMMER it in they decided to leave it alone. 11. How is watching the family do everyday things that we do day to day except with the added stress of making a noise and being torn apart. How is that not tense? 12. They don’t need to hide cuz the aliens are blind. 13. They don’t live in the town cuz again they have and are clearly maintaining a FARM!!! 14. Clearly they’ve been going into town for supplies maybe he picked up bags of sand so the kids had a trail to follow too instead of being kids and not avoiding noisy twigs and such? 15. The whole design of the aliens is they have an impenetrable outer skin, yet are sensitive in their giant ear mouths that they don’t exactly leave hanging open. 16. The reason that no one used sound against the fucking sound sensitive aliens is because they were attracted to sound! No scientist was going “hey they kill us if they hear us so much as fart let’s start studying how to beat them with sound” No completely illogical, the sensitivity was discovered because he was trying to make a hearing aid for her but he failed, and it makes this high pitch screech, a complete accident, but the high pitch screech momentarily stuns them. The only good critique you made is the navy and where they got all the different newspapers and why. You’re reaching so far.
Except clearly they would experiment with sound if they knew that it was effectively bait for the aliens. Really the idea that no one figured out how to stop them until this movie is hard to believe.
The movie revolves around a family, the bonds that keep them together and help them survive an extinction scenario, and the pain and suffering they have experienced and how they cope with it as a unit. The absence of the other people or the military or even the government is just a backdrop, not to be mulled over when you are watching the movie. These little pockets of information left about throughout the movie simply sets the stage for our main characters. This movie tells a story about a family struggling to survive in a world where they are exposed to a world infested with creatures higher on the food chain than humans(or rather the dominance heirarchy), how they manage to simply stay sane and love each other by effectively communicating via sign language and how in the end they overcome the attack because of the fact that they shared an unspoken understanding. I think it is quite clever of the creators to show how a family, or for that matter, any collective group should work smoothly as long as their is an unrestrained flow communication, both verbal and physical, something that is lacking in today's world, what with everyone spending most of their time on their phones and laptops. I'll be the first to admit being guilty of that. The movie is more than just the logic behind the creatures and their method of hunting, or the logistics of being able to make a path of white sand, or even the argument of whether one should bear a child or not during such circumstances, which may not make sense in that world, but the whole point of it all is to show that they have not given up hope and they are prepared to keep living - because, honestly, deciding to raise a child in this current world of ours, with all its dangers and flaws, is just as mad as theirs. If you watched the movie and missed the story that it tells, then maybe you didn't get it or maybe you didnt like the story, which is fine actually. To each their own. But if you watch the movie, understand the story about this family, their struggle and their losses, and their undying conviction to stay together and survive in the face of extinction, all the while each of them overcoming their own shortcomings and even managing to find a sense of closure in the end, and then you go on and still make videos and write blogs and comments nitpicking at the logical flaws of the movie, then there is something wrong with you. Not just this video, anyone making a video or writing a blog out there dedicated to simply nitpick at the flaws of any piece of art, just for the heck of it, is quite frankly a disease, or at least a pathogen of this social media disease. Maybe call up your parents after watching the movie and talk to them about that thing you wanted to talk about but never did. Or put down the phone and speak to your partner or friend sitting next to you. If you really want to pick at these flaws, do so with your close ones, see what they have to say in response(it will be more honest and definitely not as bitter as most of the comments on youtube or facebook). Don't make a video with a title that claims to deconstruct and, to an extant, defame a well made movie while failing to supply good arguments. It is a waste of time for you, and more so for those of us who make the mistake of clicking on it. TH-cam is oversaturated with countless videos as it is.
1. When you present the END OF HUMAN CIVILIZATION it’s no longer the story of a family’s bonding through adversity and hardship. It becomes a story of the last or some of the last vestiges of human life the former apex creature of the planet being reduced to an insignificant speck. If this simply took place in the middle of bum fuck nowhere America mid crisis then it’d be a hell of a lot closer to what you were describing. 2. Raising a child in this day and age is no where near as bad as doing it when a nigh unkillable monster is in the woods jacking off to how hard it can kill you when it finds you after making a noise that the plot demands it hear. It’s not like squirting our a kid in Saudi Arabia during the next drone strike, or plowing when the titanic is sinking. 3. When a movie with this many inconsistencies and flaws gets as much praise as it did for telling a mediocre story of survival from the most poorly explained aliens ever put to film next those pots and pans ghettobots from Battlefield LA it should be critiqued. Because it shows how little we think of what we consume and whatever is new and weird and has enough money stuffed into it to get a few decent actors and some C+ cgi we’ll stroke the creator’s ego and give the producers a hard on and they’ll create more dog shit like this. This isn’t clever it’s inconsistent at best and condescending and boring at worst. It’s almost as bad as Bird Box and their stupid Cthulhu angel demon alien shits. Anyway good day my rant is over.
If you're going to involve the whole world in your story at some point. You better have rock solid plots, twists, and backstory. Film wouldve been better as some sort of demon summoned up to punish the mother or the father, leaving them surrounded by monsters in the woods who hunt by sound as their punishment. I honestly have to suspend my disbelief too much to even enjoy this. Like aliens from another world who survived their world being destroyed. Floated through space for thousands if not millions of years only to land on earth. Where our atmosphere basically disintegrates any organic lifeform upon reentry? But one of the aliens dies to shotgun blast to the face? Meh. If it was just about the family and the monsters itll be alright. But it's not. And how did the militaries of the world not adapt and react to this threat? Honestly it doesnt make much sense. Especially when the aliens are susceptible to sound frequencies not heard by human. You're telling me no top scientists or militaries of the world figured this out before the little girl with a hearing aid did? The premise is laughable. The movie itself may be good but that premise is god awful.
This guys logic is "I don't understand, I would have just got into a closet and stayed silent until I die of old age" I enjoyed the movie. It was very refreshing and well done
And btw the story makes about as much sense as The Walking Dead. And plenty of people overlook things in the walking dead like the fact that there is no possible way a body can take so much damage and still function. There are zombies with all of their organs falling out and you cant operate the brain if there is no lungs to provide oxygen. But its still a good concept and fun to watch. Even if you are picking at all the details. Same with A Quiet Place. Its still entertaining to see people not be able to make sound or they die.
I literally sat there during this movie going: Speakers, Missiles, New York Traffic, Niagara Falls, Marching Bands, Tanks, The T-Rex noise from Jurassic Park, New Years Eve Crowds, High Schools during lunch break, Choirs. And the No.1 thing: *DUBSTEP*
"It doesn't make sense for the girl with the hearing aid to want to hear" Yes it does, because she doesn't know how loud SHE'S being and her deafness would make her LESS sensitive, not MORE. Seriously, spend any amount of time around a deaf person. They don't know when they're shouting, or stomping, or when they've knocked something over. That's dangerous. It's as dangerous as someone with an insensitivity to pain (this is real for some). Pain protects us from serious injury. What if you didn't know when you sliced your foot open or your appendix burst but you didn't feel it?
saxaphone traps to murder the aliens through the power of reefer powered jazz, pitfalls around a "tower" in the middle with the person on a rope, to be pulled up to safety and tell the guys to start the fire with kerosene in the ditch
Every night fires are lit atop other silos. Other people are alive. But socializing is not high on the list. People are trying to survive. They know the neighbors are out there and for now, that's enough. Unless there's extreme emergency, there's no visiting. The family's life is devastated by the loss of the child. It's not a logical decision, to have an infant, but a human one. They worked out the logistics of the padded room, which, of course, couldn't be tested. They set up the soundproof cradle. The old man and his wife WERE coming to the farm, but the woman had an accident and was slain. The man despaired and opted out. IT's about staying human in face of inhuman forces and not just surviving, but living. There were losses and sacrifices so as many people as possible would survive. I'm not sure the father had to die. But could he have survived with that wound? There's no indication either of them were doctors. So he saved his children. as he'd promised his wife. It's a post apocalyptic world. Bad things happen. I think the film did a bangup job. There's always risk, benefit.and it's never black and white.
I watched A Quiet Place last night. It was good and had me stressed. Of course as I watched, I picked it apart. Why not sound proof home and maybe even live closer to the falls if possible, why hearing aid, why have a baby etc etc. Thanks for bringing up socks lol I get why barefoot but it was driving me nuts.
Maria Rosa they wouldve had to make a house out there which wouldve been too much noise, personally i would want to hear just simply to hear my surrounds just incase somebody wanted to yell & for the baby maybe it was just a mistake like sounds wrong but not everybody plans to have kids every time they have sex
Sam Reckoning I stated if possible on living by water and it doesn't require building a house. And having sex means possibility, even with birth control, to have a baby. I wanna see where you're coming from but you twisted and put words in what I wrote that isnt.
Maria Rosa well i dont think youd wanna live next to water with no stable shelter lol also i mustve read it to fast or me being super tired that i didnt see the if possible but then again i just putting my input in it 😧
Turtato good i sorta thought they thought it was smart to have another bc one died 😂 but you sure like i dont remember the time jump from the begining to like after the boy died
I love the gun down scene. The movie definitely serves as form over function. I love the movies that perform both function and form. It's something not a lot of people understand, but notice when it's not done right.
I won’t be able to list all your points and contradict them, but I will contradict a few 1. The Family lives on a farm to FARM and they don’t live in the town because there are many things that can fall and make a noise, they almost made a noise at the start. 2. The Aliens are INVINCIBLE, they don’t need oxygen and they traveled to earth through meteors, so they are pretty damn strong, and the only reason why the mom killed the one in their basement was because of its head being revealed. also if they got here through meteors then they probably encountered a planet destroying phenomenon. 3. Not hearing in a world where making a sound is a serious hazard. What if you made a sound but couldn’t hear it, that’s your ass on the ground being killed by a god damn alien 4. The aliens not being able to hear far... This is science fiction and the majority of their head is their ear. 5. The Family would need to eventually go out of their safe zone and venture, they need to know how many aliens there are in the area and they need to get supplies like medical supplies .Plus, if they stayed in forever that won’t teach the kids the crucial skills for survival. The dad teaches his son all that he knows so he can protect the family in the future I only agree with a few of your points but it feels like you ignore many of the aliens core details and the movies features ,so ultimately, your vid is mostly BS. Emphasis on mostly because the newspaper point was good.
@houseofjax’s Animations No shit, dude. It's a fucking movie about aliens crashing onto Earth on Meteorites and wiping out most of the Human population with over powered armor as their skin. Btw, they can't be killed *"on the inside".* You need to check your spelling because it looks like you think they can be killed from the inside. We've already established that they can only die on the outside but only when their vulnerable skin is exposed.
Could we also talk about how the dad died for no reason? The girl literally let him die, cause at that point, she knew her hearing aid did something to the creatures
Promised Triggering Excalibait - Nice try, but that's not the scenario, friend -- the scenario is that, as it quickly becomes clear that the aliens are invulnerable to conventional weapons, the nations w/ nuclear capacity would dispatch bombers to nuke the areas where the aliens were -- killing whatever human populations that lived there, yes, but also saving the rest of the planet from the aliens -- you get it now?
Agree with everything in this video except for the part of the corn silo. That corn was in the silo before the alien invasion. Corn can last a while in the silo and we can just assume they were letting it rot because you're right that there is no way they could get the corn in the silo without making noise. The movie was straight up dumb.
The things you missed. -The Dad had been in contact with other people around the world , they were sharing information ( you can see what he learned from them on the whiteboards ) but when they stopped answering he would cross their names off a list ....he had just crossed the last one off ten minutes into the movie. -The sound proof room was still under construction, thats why it wasn't tested yet. -The plan with the baby was. 1. Use the fireworks to distract creatures when Mom goes into labor so she could be taken to the waterfall. 2. Give birth at the waterfall . 3. Move the baby to the sound proof room with the "Oxygen Crib" 4. Baby lives in the room until the baby is a toddler. But the daughter running away and the baby arriving a couple of weeks early blew that plan all to Hell. -The reason they didn't live at the waterfall was NO SHELTER, they would have died of exposure and even the river couldn't hide the sound of making a shelter. -The reason they didn't live in town was the their food supply was at the farm. -The aliens had a short range sonar , if they were withing 20 feet they could use it to detect movement...so you had to remain perfectly still if they were using it BUT they had trouble hearing noise when they used it . So you could gently breath when they used active sonar , but had to remain still. -Their armor was so impervious and physical strength was so great that they survived riding a meteor to Earth's surface. It would be like trying to kill Superman. -The girl NEEDED to hear because she needed to know if she was making noise or near a source of noise. Being near a chirping frog or kocking an object off a ledge could get her killed if she was unaware of it. -The aliens didn't need to breath , they could literally run along the ocean floor using their sonar to navigate, and would have been attracted to the industrial sounds of power plants and ports. -The aliens would just destroy any "speaker noise system" you made to confuse them. -Their only vulnerability was an area the size of a baseball that was hidden behind movable armor plates and they could always angle and overlap the plates so that there was no "line of sight" to the outside world, so the only way to kill them was to incapacitate them by jamming their sonar and hit that soft spot when it was exposed. -The hearing aid was actually a cochlear implant and it was broken , her father kept trying to fix it , but it was beyond his technical expertise , his last attempt at fixing it turned it into something that resonated with the aliens sonar in a way that would temporarily stun them, when she realized what was happening she used her dads radio speakers to pump up the volume and knock it out before it could run away. -When the Mom saw something "Soft and Fleshy" instead of just impervious armor , she pumped a deer slug into it
Biggest plot hole of all: how do these things navigate? How are they not bumping into walls if they're blind? And no, it can't be echo-location, since you're effectively invisible to them if you're quiet. It it was, they'd still see you.
Ultimately, this movie is terrible because the scenario it tries to present us with just isn't believable - how these mysterious things that hunt entirely through sound without any weapons were not shot to pieces within 30 minutes of their presence being revealed just isn't plausible. The aliens from films like "Independence Day" can boast superior tech and firepower, the hunters of the "Predator" films boast unmatched stealth and creative weapons that emphasize their physical combat skills, the xenomorphs of the "Alien" films have a hardened carapace that's resistant to most human weaponry and acid blood that can eat through even the most potent of defensive barriers while these "A Quiet Place" creatures have... Well... Nothing that humans can't easily match with a pump-action 12-gauge...
They were established on the farm before it happen. To move and build and establish a home somewhere new takes way more work then what they already have
The reason to hear in a silent world is that the world is filled with objects that can make noises. Since a deaf person cant hear noises, they cant hear when they make noise.
Dude your not breaking down what is wrong or bad about this movie, your just simply saying what you think they should have done instead and changing the story
That was a sharp sound, if I’m downstairs in my basement, with headphones on listening to music and someone throws a baseball through a window on the second floor I’m still going to be able to hear it. A baby crying while loud isn’t nearly as loud or sharp as glass shattering, it only feels that way because the baby cries longer. Also they did use noise as a distraction to distract the monsters, remember the fireworks, you said they didn’t. Also that room was soundproofed, unlike the basement which you pointed out earlier
The writer gave backstory as to how the aliens got to the planet and why their armor is practically impenetrable. Their original planet has no light, that’s why their blind, they evolved to use sounds to see like bats. Their amor is this way because their planet has much worse things on it so they evolved to have thicker armor. Tank rounds can’t even penetrate armor and with hundreds landing on earth at a time there would be too many for even a military to do anything about. Also when they are around electronics they also produce a small emp radius unknowingly which can affect anything that’s electronic in the area. Their race are like fleas that don’t need oxygen, they piggyback on asteroids then crash land onto other planets to reproduce. That’s how they got to their “original” planet because their actual planet of origin was destroyed and in the after math they clung to asteroids and landed on the planet with no light. That’s where they evolved even further to what we see on the movie screen.
John Rambo they went too far with the toughness of these monsters. Hardened carapace I can buy but able to survive traveling through space for what could be ages. They don't need to breath or eat apparently. These things must be mutant Kryptonians.
+John Rambo "Tank rounds can’t even penetrate armor and with hundreds landing on earth at a time there would be too many for even a military to do anything about." Here's the problem with that. Tank rounds, along with an amazing amount of our destructive armaments deal damage via concussive force. Even assuming the creature's carapace could weather the force of the tank round, that does not mean the force of the round would nullify on the impact with the carapace; in fact, this means that the force of the impact would travel through the creature's body and essentially turn it's insides to pulp. This weakness is further compounded when it's shown that the carapace is not one solid piece but has sections that separate.. the vibrations from a high impact weapons would rip that kind of plating apart since it's held onto the creature by vulnerable muscle tissue (as shown by the fact that as soon as it's plating separated, it was able to be killed). As for travelling through space, this is also an issue for the life form. A creature needs sustenance to survive.. a creature like that would need to feed often; and even if they were to put themselves into hibernation, this does not mean suspended animation. Even a very generous hibernation cycle would have the creature's reserves run dry after what could easily be several thousand years. Now, assuming that they COULD hibernate for the amount of time it would take to get here, this means that the creatures have means to feed off their own stores of energy for an extended amount of time and would then be one of the least predatory creatures that we could encounter. There are virtually no creatures that would kill as these creatures do if they did not need to feed regularly; and if they need to feed regularly, this makes the idea of them surviving the time through space as impossible. The creatures are not well thought out . This movie was not well though out.
frostmagemarii I liked everything except ASSUMING they wouldn't kill. Now,.,if for some reason they are like..,I forget the spelling..,but tardigras...ill look it up later. It's a bug or something that CAN exist for a very long time without food or water. It goes into a kind of weird petrified state or something. With their size.,,maybe when they do it..,it's even a longer state than the Tardiwhatever can do it. And just because OUR earth d ont carry many animals that a predatory based on their food habits..,we're talking aliens from another planet. There could be a level of intelligence that just wasn't observed..,while they were fucking people up. And that level told them to get rid of us. Maybe we resemble something on their planet that is a threat and they adapted to fight first. Maybe something in our atmosphere makes them more agitated and a LOT of seemingly harmless things on our planet CAN become dangerous if provoked. Or if they perceive threat. I mean..if their planet is dark...they can't see...fine, but they can feel something...like warmth of the sun. And to them...the sun is fucking hot...and if you've ever been hot for a long time, you know how agitated you can become. There are many reasons to why they would attack that doesn't rely on food sources. Hell...to them..we could just be playthings....just very VERY fragile playthings. I can KINDA see how they survive tanks and other things. While it's a comcussive type of damage...it still must hit. And if you've seen tanks in real life...imagine their aiming speed vs an aliens running speed. Sure, may have gotten a lot, but after a few shots and other aliens running in droves towards it to attack...its ripping through the soldiers and landing all around the tanks. Either ripping it open or waiting them out.
Agon Leed I never said the creatures wouldn’t kill. What I said is that they wouldn’t be so aggressively predatory. The less a creature actually needs to feed, the less it will go hunting; and a higher intelligence is never explored, infact, it’s shown that the creatures are little more than beasts. As for the sun affecting them, it wouldn’t. If their carapace stops the heat from re-entry or the heat caused by impact roast their insides.. the ambient heat of the sun wouldn’t register with them. These aliens are poorly conceived.
The movie also forgot that the US Military and police forces have Sonic Weapons the use sound mostly as a deterrent in riots to disperse crowds but they don't do much good as people hear on different frequencies but if the aliens hear on the same frequency as the movie implies then those weapons would more than likely be deadly to them. Also the movie forgot about the all of the military Spec-Ops teams around the most notably the US Navy Seals, Canada's JTF-2, and the UK's SAS which carry out operations quietly.
LGBTQ Conservative okay but when faced with monsters that can fucking slice through silo bins with ease, so you think they’re gonna try and use sonic weapons? No because it took awhile to figure out they hunt by sound
it would still be recorded and given to what ever was left of the world's military forces which it would then be used as a guerrilla warfare tactic. Also the writers made it so the world's military forces were really underpowered and as stated in the video if news papers were printing that the monster hunt by sound then that means the world's military forces already knew about it
LGBTQ Conservative or maybe the news papers reported this AFTER the military was defeated. Maybe modern civilians COULD of broken into those military bases and got the sonic bombs, but at that rate everyone was trying to survive, and no one actually knew that they could be hurt by sound, they only knew that was how they hunted. So no one was going to be making noise unless they wanted to die
What I'm confused about is that they said that the alien's exterior is like armor but the military still couldn't kill them knowing most armed forces have anti tank ammunition and other armor piercing rounds.
you need to learn how to criticize movies before you can put out whole videos on youtube. Not even about the quiet place, but your arguments fall flat because you don't really fully explain what you mean and why. You just ask a question "why dont they do this..." and then say "they're stupid!" over and over again. That's not really how a movie critic should work. You also didn't state any examples in the beginning, you just assumed everyone knew what you were talking about. You need to talk more visually!! Its not really an examination of characters in a quiet place, because you don't really go into the depth of the characters at all. Everyone is trying to be a movie critic nowadays, but you need to actually know a bit about moviemaking before you can do so...
This should be a series in your channel dude! Great format! But you chose the wrong movie to pick as your first. A quiet place is actually pretty good, and it seems like you are the stupid one by trying to rip into it. Your "plotholes" is full of holes

I recall when watching this movie in theaters that there were scenes at night where OTHER billows of smoke from fires were lit up in the far distance. So this may explain their chill attitude when scouting.
What an awesome video! I loved the content, editing, animation, the whole package. @ 13:21 The papers mention Shanghai, perhaps their part of the world was unaffected at first? The power is still on. Man, I hope your other videos are even half this good. Imma gonna do me some binge watching.

If the aliens ears are sensitive enough to hear a noise down a basement in a forest hundreds of meters away. This would mean that any kind of earrape would blow up their ears
*_Monsters inc theme plays_*
Exactly and humans are pretty good at exploiting sensory overload with weapons from flash bangs, smoke bombs, stink bombs, chalk board scratching lol, how did no one figure out how to overload the one sense that the creatures seem to use?. They don’t smell, they don’t see, all they do is hear and touch, since their skin is tough then all you have to focus on is their hearing so how the hell did humans get fucked over lol.
Nope, just the feedback from the hearing aid.

Dr. Froggle probably wasnt loaded so the kids didnt use it n get hurt maybe? Like i get in a world like that they should be ready but some kids just aint that strong minded to use it instead of getting scared

He also has a soundproof room. If you're going to do something noisy, why not do it there?
This movie is nothing but stupid plot holes.

I just assumed that particular spot was where the shotgun was hidden tbh

This bugs me to no end. Do they do this every bloody week in rainy season?
Also, barefoot? Does it really stay that warm where the farm is that they can always move around barefoot? It looks like a place where it would be colder during the winter months.
Such a dumb solution to the problem at hand. As someone else suggested: find quiet shoes, tie pillows to your feet...anything would have been easier.

Anton Deckman they make a sound high pitched to where humans cant hear it, but creatures with better hearing its very painful.
how about a gun just shoot it the sound
Kylo yelling "MORE!" through the shooting montage had me laughing hard.
This is a great one, but I disagree about her hearing aid. I most certainly would want to hear in a world where it's supposed to be quiet. It's would be extremely vital to your survival to keep an ear out for any sound at all.
Yeah you wanna know if you are making sound as well, you'd never know if the floors you walk on creak unless you can hear
Fingerlock r
Yea but why waste so much time on that the first year instead of focusing on other more important things.
My question is will they aliens be able to hear the hearing aid? Its like the equivalent of putting on headphones to listen to music and just assuming they wont hear it. Am I missing something?
you're probably the same kind of stupid person that would lose both legs in an accident and would strive to become an athlete at running.
Actually the aliens in this movie are so hopeless it is comedic. They have tough exoskeletons that are able to deflect small caliber fire, sure. But apart from that they:
A) Are confirmed to be carbon-based organisms, since they consume and metabolize earth animals.
"They actually managed to make them even worse than the aliens from "signs"..."
Oh dear Cthulhu - don't remind me about that...
@@fanispatitsas2192

They didn't know that high sounds during the time could hurt them until the daughter found out about it and used her hearing aid on the speakers to harm the creature.
That's the kind of bullshit that AL is driving at. During the entire time Earth was being overrun by the aliens we're expected to believe that a couple of bumpkins figured out what none of the greatest scientific and military minds on Earth could?
+Rashkiekah Love Toshinori yagi
But it's not even about hurting the creature with loud sounds.
+Ken Harris
I know, right? If there's one thing that mankind has excelled in through the ages, it's been making things dead; especially when we've been backed into a corner.
7.5 billion people and no one figured that out till that moment ?
TheHibbitydibbity they were pretty prepared
That “more” lmao 😂
The issue i have with the "earth is wiped out" stories is that it's just not plausible. Movie makers always seem to forget just how destructive humans can and will be if they're pushed up against the wall, and sure there'd be some losses at the start but then people would organize and start using their sound sensitivity against them and resort to more powerful armaments to ensure a kill.
Acid Chaos The Creeper
What if’s are horrible stories if you throw all logic, reason out the window and aren’t able to explain their what if’s; along with everyone in the world requiring to be afflicted with the stupid bat treatment
Acid Chaos The Creeper
Exactly.
+Brutalyte616
And that makes them entirely untenable as an organism.
They actually walk on leaves that fell on the sand. Its even in the video
She wants the hearing aid because she wants to go on foraging trips with her dad. But he doesn’t trust her to go because she can’t hear how much noise she makes
I just binged watch your whole video catalog. Great videos man keep it up can't wait for the next one!
Socks wont work in the forest and sticks and leafes
It took me two years to find this but man were your animated versions worth it! Literally laughed out loud during those. Perfect!
I love how you use Will Smith as your anger translator 😂
You're right. Who ducks without making noise and you can't keep a baby quiet. They had a sound proof room?
I think the gun killed the alien bc of the fact it opened up its face
It did, that is why the armor opens up, to protect the soft insides, this applies to anything living with a hard exterior, to protect what is inside as it is soft unlike the outside,
Well I doubt that natural armor can do much against human bullets that are designed to penetrate tanks.
+Name Name the monsters armor has survived atmospheric entry and the impact on an asteroid, I think they can withstand anti tank rounds
It's Ya Boi Daniel
Actually...
Alien creature, Alien planet, Alien compounds and materials and other stuff,
Maybe everyone thought the Aliens were a media conspiracy theory and they ignored the warnings.
Lol that sounds familiar
To lazy to read save for later
she wants her hearing aid to work so that she can sense whether she is being noisy or not.
The socks won't stop twigs cracking or leaves crunching - renewing the sand will...
Finally someone calls out the flaws and this was hilarious
No scientist was going “hey they kill us if they hear us so much as fart let’s start studying how to beat them with sound”
No completely illogical, the sensitivity was discovered because he was trying to make a hearing aid for her but he failed, and it makes this high pitch screech, a complete accident, but the high pitch screech momentarily stuns them.
The only good critique you made is the navy and where they got all the different newspapers and why.
You’re reaching so far.
Except clearly they would experiment with sound if they knew that it was effectively bait for the aliens. Really the idea that no one figured out how to stop them until this movie is hard to believe.
LOL "He just wanted his machete back" I forgot they even did a Jason in space movie.
That's the fun of movies. To think about what you could do and what they failed to do.
Oh and there trying to live as normal as possible in a world where sound = death.
Honestly one of the best movie reviews I’ve seen in a while. Good job my guy.
all they needed where usw's, a weapon that uses sounds to injure, incapacitate,or kill an opponent.
“Why not just wear socks” makes for a nice t shirt 😂
"It doesn't make sense for the girl with the hearing aid to want to hear"
Yes it does, because she doesn't know how loud SHE'S being and her deafness would make her LESS sensitive, not MORE. Seriously, spend any amount of time around a deaf person. They don't know when they're shouting, or stomping, or when they've knocked something over. That's dangerous. It's as dangerous as someone with an insensitivity to pain (this is real for some). Pain protects us from serious injury. What if you didn't know when you sliced your foot open or your appendix burst but you didn't feel it?
saxaphone traps to murder the aliens through the power of reefer powered jazz, pitfalls around a "tower" in the middle with the person on a rope, to be pulled up to safety
and tell the guys to start the fire with kerosene in the ditch
The red lights give off a buzz that slightly throws off the aliens
Maria Rosa well i dont think youd wanna live next to water with no stable shelter lol also i mustve read it to fast or me being super tired that i didnt see the if possible but then again i just putting my input in it 😧
Maria Rosa the baby was already on the way by the time the aliens came
Turtato good i sorta thought they thought it was smart to have another bc one died 😂 but you sure like i dont remember the time jump from the begining to like after the boy died
I love the gun down scene. The movie definitely serves as form over function. I love the movies that perform both function and form. It's something not a lot of people understand, but notice when it's not done right.
I won’t be able to list all your points and contradict them, but I will contradict a few
What if you made a sound but couldn’t hear it, that’s your ass on the ground being killed by a god damn alien
The dad teaches his son all that he knows so he can protect the family in the future
I only agree with a few of your points but it feels like you ignore many of the aliens core details and the movies features ,so ultimately, your vid is mostly BS. Emphasis on mostly because the newspaper point was good.
@houseofjax’s Animations
No shit, dude.
"The Aliens are INVINCIBLE"
And yet they die from a shotgun blast to the face...
The aliens attack anything that makes sounds like speakers but they can’t destroy a waterfall.
New series man? Love it
Could we also talk about how the dad died for no reason? The girl literally let him die, cause at that point, she knew her hearing aid did something to the creatures
You can't just go nuke a couple countries
that would make it even worse, the radio active gas is like poison, it spreads very fast, several states would be untouched for centuries.
I know that's why I said it
In order to save the rest of the human race? Yeah, you can...
Reuter Atwork
Good luck getting ALL the governments to agree to nuking each other/ themselves
3. Move the baby to the sound proof room with the "Oxygen Crib"
-When the Mom saw something "Soft and Fleshy" instead of just impervious armor , she pumped a deer slug into it
Great points!
Biggest plot hole of all: how do these things navigate? How are they not bumping into walls if they're blind? And no, it can't be echo-location, since you're effectively invisible to them if you're quiet. It it was, they'd still see you.
You should up load more frequently I love your Chanel
bro said “maybe nobody else tried that” 😂😂
Yo I found your channel through the jeepers creepers video, love your videos 💯
same lol
Everyone in 2019: these people are so stupid, no one in real world would act so stupid in global danger situation.
Me in april 2020: heh... ironic.
This was a good movie until a started seeing the logic behind it
And the creator is currently working on a 2nd one
Good perspective, I like this channel for stuff like this
that more scene you put together was perfect.
Ali a intro coula saved the world
Isn’t it STUPID to think that the lady could have been PREGNANT BEFORE the invasion 🤔
They were established on the farm before it happen. To move and build and establish a home somewhere new takes way more work then what they already have
You should make this a series. I love this
Alien Armor : Survive thier planet explosion and nuke
WWZ has the scene of using speakers and a football stadium to lure the infected, then they blew them up with a AGM. Love the vid.
1 like for nit pics.
The reason to hear in a silent world is that the world is filled with objects that can make noises. Since a deaf person cant hear noises, they cant hear when they make noise.
Dude your not breaking down what is wrong or bad about this movie, your just simply saying what you think they should have done instead and changing the story
luziver Edits read that again, but slower
Yeah you should read that again
my life is getting better yeah but he’s not making just little changes he’s completely changing the entire story
LOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!! You're ending is spot on.
What pissed me off was when the father shouted instead of throwing the shovel at the other metal objects
+John Rambo
"Tank rounds can’t even penetrate armor and with hundreds landing on earth at a time there would be too many for even a military to do anything about."
Here's the problem with that.
Agon Leed
I never said the creatures wouldn’t kill.
These aliens are poorly conceived.
khartog01 they could be like tardigrades? They can survive almost anything.
People do tend to panic during survivable mode.
I'm saying once they know that the monster hunt with sound then the sonic weapons would be used
LGBTQ Conservative but what if that wasn’t discovered until it was too late
it would still be recorded and given to what ever was left of the world's military forces which it would then be used as a guerrilla warfare tactic.
I love cut part with Mac shooting his MLG to a mini gun then the whole MORE part
why wouldnt anyone use acoustic blankets
Right. Make the alarm sound so even MORE of the aliens come to your home. Smart.
This should be a series in your channel dude! Great format! But you chose the wrong movie to pick as your first. A quiet place is actually pretty good, and it seems like you are the stupid one by trying to rip into it. Your "plotholes" is full of holes

DWIGHT (from The Office): "Hey, everyone! I just checked the grain silo...and it's got enough corn to last a family of 10 for 10 years!"
EMILY BLUNT: "What? WE MUST PLANT MORE CORN!!!" [SIGNING AGGRESSIVELY]
Just binged watched your videos, keep up the great work. Good stuff
This is the funniest thing I've seen in year's.. Keep up the good work!!
He was muffling loading the shotgun under those covers.
In tears!!! MORE!!! 🤣🤣😭😭
Great points. Loved your version of the Quiet Place
