If you’re looking for a fast growing aquatic plant, I’d highly recommend guppy grass (najas guadalupensis). Incredibly easy to grow. Doesn’t require CO2 injection, does well in low light, and doesn’t require fertilizers. It draws its nutrients from the water column so it can be left free floating, or if you prefer you can anchor it in the substrate.
My favorite is Water Wasteria, because the aquarium will look more natural with the green color from Water Wasteria, but the others are also not bad depending on taste and can be rotated too.😅❤
Personally, I would suggest Duckweed. Duckweed is an aquarium keeper's secret weapon! It not only adds a natural, vibrant touch to the tank but also helps maintain water quality by absorbing excess nutrients and providing cover for fish and aquatic creatures. Thanks for highlighting its importance; it's a small plant that makes a big difference in creating a healthy and thriving aquatic ecosystem!
Besides being good for reducing toxins in the tank the only good thing I'd say about duckweed is that if you have goldfish they love this stuff .Rotala indica is also an easy one to grow ,I've even had it grow outdoors in my small pond during the spring and summer and it even survived a Pacific NW winter and grew back the following spring plus it looks nice emersed .
The variety of fast-growing aquarium plants featured in this video is amazing. I'm especially intrigued by the Amazon Frogbit-it adds a whole new dimension to the tank's aesthetics.
Informative and helpful! This video introduced 15 fast-growing aquarium plants, particularly those that combat algae like Duckweed. A great guide for aquarium enthusiasts seeking a lush, algae-free aquatic environment. Ready to enhance my tank
Eelgrass or what you call Valice sceneria has to be my favorite aquarium plant. It comes from springs and rivers here in Florida, but I’ve seen it grow in 12 feet of water in a lake. It doesn’t need much light and doesn’t care about the substrate.
I learned a lot from this video and I'm already excited to try some of these plants in my aquarium. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and helping the aquarium community have healthier, more beautiful aquariums!
Wow, these fast-growing aquarium plants that combat algae are a game-changer! 😍 It's amazing how they not only enhance the beauty of my tank but also keep those pesky algae at bay. 🌱💧 Thanks for sharing this informative video! Can't wait to transform my aquarium with these beauties. 🐠🌿 #AquariumPlants #AlgaeCombatants
What a wonderful content! You explained very clearly and carefully! learned a lot thanks to you. Really great video with so much information!! Thanks for the guide!!❤❤❤
These plants are looking perfect to add in our aquariums with the significant growth they have. Hornwort is a great option. Fishkeepers don't really need a strong lighting to keep them alive. The plant can also survive in any water condition, which is nice! Thank you so much for doing this video.
I've never been successful with hornwort, I've noticed that angelfish, severum and mollies have particularly affinity towards hornwort. Many people says that fishes stays away because of the rough surface of hornwort leaves but in my case this is not true, no matter what my fishes eats all the leaves within an week . I feed my fishes 3x a day , yet they eat hornwort . Although I've great success with water wisteria. My tanks are primarily wisteria tank lol . Recently I've been successful with ambulia . I've tried ambulia in the past but never been successful. Brazilian waterweed is something that only angels are interested in , they can finish the leaves within 2-3 days . So till now water wisteria is the only plant they've shown some mercy, I mean they only eat the newest budding leaves, they leave the rest of the leaves intact. And I'm willing to try out some of the plants showed here for sure . I've to try and see which plant angers don't finish off .
Hornwort requires a minimum amount of calcium carbonate in the water. I grew this species in my pond for years where it flourished to the point that I had to throw out buckets of it. On moving to Wales where the water was considerably softer, with no calcium in it, all of the hundreds of stems I took with me faded away and died. I didn't know this at the time of my move.
The elodea plant is very unique, another name is canadensis, with a slightly bright green color measuring 4 inches and fast growth and is highly recommended for aquariums.
You'll find that canadensis is just one species of Elodea, from the six in that genus. Anacharis is an old synonym and should be dropped from the aquarium literature. Elodea is not known as Brazilian waterweed, that is a different species, Egeria densa, and many experts 'in the know ' fail to see the difference, and such is the confusion that even many photographs and articles published on the Internet are erroneous. E. canadensis is an extremely invasive species in other parts of the world where it clogs waterways and smothers native species. Take care.
Pearl weed is one of the plants I have ever grown in an aquarium. I think it can be used as a carpet, besides that it is easy to care for and grows quickly. In the future I will try other plants according to your recommendations. Your presentation is extraordinary, as a fish lover this helps me know a lot about aquatic plants. Thank You.
Exciting! Combining the beauty of fast-growing aquarium plants with algae control is a game-changer for aquarium enthusiasts. Can't wait to discover these 15 plants and enhance my underwater world! 🌿🐠
I once used something called Aponogeton Ulvaceus. I forgot where this came from. What is certain is that Aponogeton Ulvaceus is very unique and also grows very quickly.
"Wow, these fast-growing aquarium plants are a game-changer for combating algae in my tank! Thanks for the great recommendations. My aquarium has never looked better, and my fish are happier too!"
We will have a separate video for red plants and many red plants aren’t considered beginner friendly. We tried to focus on easier to grow + fast growing in this video and limited to 15.
No - they have different temperature requirements. Even if you could get the goldfish accumulated to the temperature, it's likely the angelfish would bully them.
Keep away from duckweed!!! That crap gets into everything. It's considered the STD of the aquarium community in my aquarium clubs. Absolutely love guppy Grass, hornwort, vallesnaria, Monte Carlo and frog bit. Word of caution about frog bit It does not like to be wet on top of the leaves keep it away from a lot of turbulence or it will die.

It’s great as long as you can manage it 😅. I’ve been trying to see if it’s okay to harvest for humans as there are health benefits if you eat it

Hornwort is a tank lol. It’s a great starter plant

I have some val plants for a month and they haven't sent any spreaders yet?
Live plants work best at preventing algae when the aquarium is heavily planted. thank you so much for sharing this video
Of course. Thank you for watching 😊
Wonderful
the Hornwort is a good choice to combat algae, it does not need co2 and is easy to grow.
Hygrophila Corymbosa!
Like Hornwort
Giant Ambulia is perfect for me
Surprised not more red plants in this
We will have a separate video for red plants and many red plants aren’t considered beginner friendly. We tried to focus on easier to grow + fast growing in this video and limited to 15.
I's also hard to get rid of the duckweed....
Yes - it’s a blessing and a curse 😅. Some of these fast growing plants are like that though duckweed for sure is the worst
Turtle can eat all of these?
Yes they can some of the footage is sometimes to fill time as I’ve gotten them visiting pet stores over the years
Can we keep our goldfish with our angelfish
No - they have different temperature requirements. Even if you could get the goldfish accumulated to the temperature, it's likely the angelfish would bully them.

I agree duckweed is a blessing and curse 😂. It’s good for fish that like to eat it
Duckweed, the herpes of the aquarium world.
😂 ya
Since I started in aquariums, algae has been the biggest problem, it is a pest
Algae sucks - the great thing about freshwater aquariums is fast growing plants will combat them
