Anyone recognize the artist? Reminds me of Claude Lorrain, but I'm pretty sure it's not one of his.

Thanks very much, Muzikay. I'm a fan of pastoral landscape (everyone from Claude Lorrain to Thomas Cole), and Jacob More is a brand new discovery for me.
In fact, my favourite painting is Lorrain's The Embarkation of Carlo and Ubaldo, though as you might expect the reproduction doesn't do it justice. Almost invisible in the reproduction is a distant headland that is perfectly visible in the painting itself, and which serves to draw the viewer's eye far out to sea.

The coda melody is keenly related to the introduction theme of movement 1. He is a genius.
