Any need to bleed the air bubbles out? I ran out of fuel, engine starts up fine now then shuts off after ~30 seconds. Starts back up fine, shuts off again after 30s…repeats 10 or so times then will run fine from there. Replaced CPS, no obvious fuel leaks or air but I’m wondering if there’s simmering keeping the fuel system primed? I can hear fuel leaking back into tank after it shuts off
I’ve got a L10 with a mechanical fuel pump. I change the filter/strainer under the cap on top that has the big flat head a lot. Put it back and the motor won’t start. I did pull the main fuel line and solenoid to get to it. I’ve made sure the fuel filter is full. It won’t start. Check at the motor and it’s barely seeping out. On top of the solenoid just seeping out. Should be shooting it pretty hard no? My 85 international doesn’t run a water separator. Did the fuel pump just defense to randomly go out? How can I prime this old mechanical system? Any help is much appreciated. At my wits end with it haha.

I know I’m late but make sure you don’t lose the spring between the cap and filter on the fuel pump

You should refit the cap while cranking. With the cap off, you are only draining the fuel filter and not drawing fuel up the hoses.
I had to fill the lines. It fills them quicker with the cap off.
