One great idea was to use drawers out of older sets of dressers, desks etc. They can easily have wheels put on them to store things under bed for more space as buying them isn't cheap.
Also I liked idea of using large drawers from unused/old furniture to make a coffee table etc. The drawers are most time consuming etc part of a build.

No they don't, there are certain places they will tear apart if its a common hiding place like the master bedroom closet. Thieves typically try to quickly get in and out limiting the chance someone will come home and catch them. Its also incase a neighbor sees them break in and call the cops, they want to be out before the police get there.

I agree that you shouldn’t put the bulk of your money or valuables behind things with a handle, knob, or pull. For things you really can’t afford to lose to theft, fire, or flood, that also must be stored at your house, a fireproof, locked safe is the only way to go. But there are plenty of things that would be very inconvenient and/or unfortunate to lose, but not devastatingly so, that might be appropriate to hide using some of these ideas, particularly if it’s a matter of just getting them out of sight and out of the places people usually store them.
The scenarios you’re trying to prevent with these ideas are 1) a burglar that is looking to get in and out quickly and without detection, and 2) preventing someone that has permission to be in the house, say a repair tech or a party guest, from quickly finding and pocketing things like cash and jewelry. They don’t have time to look in every drawer or cabinet, let alone find which wall plate is a faux electric outlet. Even if they do chance upon finding one stash, if you’ve avoided putting more than you can afford to lose in any one place, they wouldn’t find them all.
I think that’s key in deciding how to protect money and valuables-by first asking ourselves how much we can afford to lose, and taking appropriate precautions from there.
Also, there are plenty of ways to hide the fact that something opens and how, no knob or pull necessary 😉🤓

We didn't always have rollers or not enough rollers, they were expensive and terrible to sleep on when I was growing up! Bobbi pins were SO much easier to work with unless you had long hair then you just used them to hold the empty juice cans in place that were used because regular rollers were too small, lol. Back in the "way back" time about 60 or so years ago.

Storing things under your refrigerator is NOT a good idea, unless you want your fridge to overheat. Those coils under there need air space!

These are great ideas but not for my house. My house is really a one bedroom apartment.

10:04 #35 can be a good place however you'd have to airtight seal almost anything you put in their to keep out humidity and dust. After just a month, a wad of cash sure would be humid in many climates.

A good thing to use is a food saver. Seals your money, etc. in a small airtight waterproof bag.

The title is about decluttering your home. Yet the thumbnail shows how to hide your money. Maybe you have so much money that its cluttering up your home.... Not mine.

Make a hole in dry wall. Remove fibreglass. Fill with things you don't use.
Put TV on top. Now it's hidden.

Gee. I have an idea.... how about just removing all this clutter nonsense from your life. Removing clutter doesn't mean shifting it from one place to another. This video was really comical.

I laughed when they straight up showed a gun being stored. LOL I mean, I know people have guns, but that felt a little hard-core for a friendly little DIY post. Like, hey, you can put your bobby pins and extra pillows here, and here's where you can hide the gat!

    • @Nzzertral

While I agree, some degree of organization can free up a lot of room. Having it sit all over vs having a spot for it to be put up makes a huge difference and if I can do it while also making the storage hidden that's a cherry ontop

I know, it is as if homes builders didn't think to add hidden blocks in the bathtub wall. also, some of these are not "easy" do it yourself projects if you cant just pull out a saw, and "wood you already have around the house" to make shelves, etc.
