GIANT £500,000 EXCAVATOR swallowed by the ocean

- This £500,000 excavator has been consumed by the ocean, I am guessing it had a mechanical failure and they couldn't save it in time.

I have found out that a rouge wave splashed up in to the electrics causing a failure

High tide was about 4.6m that day. Not the highest we get. It gives an idea of how deep the water will be when fishing off the new breakwater when it's completed. You can see at 0:45 that it's situated roughly at the front edge of where the breakwater will be.
@@findelbaines it will be deeper where your casting by quite a bit. This excavator is sat on top of the stones.
Hopefully it will be a nice fishing spot just hope we don't get loads of idiots leaving rubbish and mess behind.
Well if they even let us fish from it, problem is that side is a pain in the arse for parking, costs a lot too. I always fished the South beach and rocks further along, hopefully will still be able to fish there and they will not kill it off.
Fishing has been fine so far still. Getting the bass and bream etc
They did the same down in mumbles .that one was left out a few times and the tide came in around it .

I dont know all the ins and outs but the workers are trying there best. If things are wrong it's put of there hands to the powers above

@@C3BFA The tide does not get anywhere that far out even on a big spring, may have slipped off the barge in the rough stuff in last few days?.
Anybody with common sense or an ounce of intelligence would build up that new pier base by moving out gradually, building up the base as you go, not going too far out with edges before filling in that is just stupid.
Went fishing at Tanybwlch Beach (beach south of Stone Jetty Aberystwyth) on the 4th to find a yacht up on the beach towards the south end, lost its mooring in the previous nights high.
The morning tide was not high enough, waves just moved it slightly, they were hoping to be off that night.
Went fishing again on morning of 6th, it was still there and a second yacht had joined it closer towards the Stone Jetty, another 50 yards or so and it would have been smashed against the big girders or the Concrete it self. Sure both of them moored and went ashore to the pub etc, if they had been onboard they would have not gone aground. May still be there as not been since due to high winds.

It does del dread. He was perched on top of the new sea defence working and a rouge wave soaked the electrics ans killed the machine
@@nygelb4333 Fished there a lot and never seen it that far out, well up until they fenced the whole area off even the bits they are not touching.
