I’m so happy that JB managed to find his groove as he went through the competition. He was one of the celebs that showed some early promise but it wasn’t quite there yet but boy did he get there in the end. I wish everyone could win, such a strong final, but thank you for entertaining us. It’s been a joy to watch.
Wonderful routine. In any other year JB would have won Strictly. I do hope Lauren gets a partner from the start. She is obviously a wonderful teacher as well as a nice person. Well done JB.
Great dance, every week you improved and you and Lauren looked like two professionals dancing together. This dance style suited you and makes a great show dance!! Congratulations it was a great watching you dance. So relaxed and full of joy!!
From across the pond all I got to say is that Lauren has been my favorite pro since she was on last year and even though she didn’t win, I’m so glad that she made it to her first finale even though she was brought in last minute! Forever proud of her!
Score - *10* This is everything JB is about, the groove and swag was as good as he's been all the way through. I loved the blend of all the styles and songs it worked so so well, also the tempo changes were so cool and fresh, which is why it looked so clean. I loved the performance and the vibes they brought and it was just a celebration of how far they've come and how well he coped with the partner swap, another worthy winner for sure 👏🏻
JB was my pick for the win from the off. Sadly it wasn't to be. He's such a lovely genuine guy. Hope SCD will do his career a lot of good. Well done JB. Oh, and MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎅
Wow! I'm watching this video by video as I don;t have a tv but need my Strictly fix. I know who won and everything but I'm still over-excited to watch them all and what a blast to start with! JB hasn't been a favourite as such but I've loved some of his dancing and felt he was under-rated at times. He showed them! I said about Layton and Nikita's showdance last year that I would watch a whole show based around it. Same here,
JB is our samba king 👑 YES SIR, THAT’S OUR JB! Like Danny Mac a very good runner up who likely would’ve won on a different year 👏🏼 well done JB 🎉 you were fabulous
Doesn't look like the other dances are getting uploaded but I'd have scored JB 10 for both his other dances, he did so well having his partner swap and he really did go on a journey, his Samba and Viennese so worth a 40, they can be so proud of what they've done 🤩🤩
First up is JB Gill and Lauren Oakley dancing their Showdance. This was very JB's style hip hop with smooth relaxed attitude in there, I thought that even tho this dance wasn't my thing I know a lot of people including the pair must have loved it, Well Done to JB Gill and Lauren Oakley for being amazing in the show an with there dancing.
There isn't an obvious place to post my comments, so I'm going to post them as one under each of the couple's Showdances. It seems there are no videos of the Judges' Choice or Couple's Choice dances from the final, only from the weeks they were originally danced. That seems a bit lazy/lame to me, but maybe it's a victim of the spending cuts the BBC are perpetually having to make. Fab-u-LOUS final! Lots of poignant and fun little moments alongside the dancing, such as; the judges coaching the finalists, particularly Craig coaching Chris and Dianne; the VTT where Chris and Dianne each explain what the other has meant to them (we were in tears); Craig's poem to Chris; Nessa!!!; and Tasha's brother turning up from Australia. I was surprised that two of the Couple's Choice routines were chosen in the Judges' Choice category, given that there are no rules in these dances, and they usually garner higher scores than the set Ballroom/Latin/Speciality dances. I think it would be fairer and more competitive for the judges to pick from among the set dances. Anyway, neither of Tasha's or Chris's CCs scored higher than JB's VW or Sarah's AS on Saturday night. I also thought it was odd that two of the dances chosen in the Judges' Choice category had initially garnered a score of 9101010 39 (JB's VW and Tasha's CC), where hardly any improvement was required, and that of these, JB's dance was from Week 11, Musicals Week, the Quarter Final - only two weeks ago. The dances chosen for Chris and Sarah in this category made much more sense as they had both garnered 33 points on their first outing, and both were from Week 8. At least Tasha's CC was from week 7. I know they are always tinkering with the format to 'keep it interesting and relevant', but I prefer how the Judges' Choice was managed in the past. The judges would pick dances from earlier in the season, dances which didn't necessarily score that highly, and where the scope for improvement in both routine difficulty and dance ability was great given how far the couple had since come. Then, the judges would debate their choices with one another, giving clear criteria for improvement to the couples. It wasn't then a given that the couple would get 3 or 4 10s, they would get a score representing their improvement. The only problem was that sometimes the earlier dances the judges picked required a greater change in choreography to reflect the contestant's improvement, than the later dances they had picked for the other contestants. They could get round any vast discrepancies by either picking dances from roughly the same weeks or with roughly the same scores. I would definitely keep the individual judges training the couple for the judges' choice, though, as this was a meaningful addition and it made good viewing. Maybe it has been decided that the couples don't have time and energy to devote too much to the judges' choice at this final stage in the competition, and maybe the emphasis is now on the Showdance, with the rest being a celebration of how far they have each come, but I feel the creeping tendency/pressure in recent years to award all 10s in the final is at the expense of a real sense of competition, which was present in the past. Anyhow, all this aside, it was a great final, one of the best, and my fave dances were as follows: Judges' choice: 1. Sarah and Vito. 2. Chris and Dianne Showdance: 1. Tasha and Aljaž - routine, outfits, stage design, music 👌 I think this is possibly THE best dance I've seen on SCD. 2. JB and Lauren - simply great! I loved the pure fun nature of Chris and Dianne's Showdance. Couple's choice: 1. Sarah and Vito and Tasha and Aljaz tied. I have really opened my eyes to Tasha's star quality the past two or three episodes, and she really shone on Saturday night. For me, she is the best and most natural dancer of the four finalists, and I don't really care whether she has had dance experience or not, I am just thankful that I got to see her dance. I was a little disappointed by Sarah and Vito's Showdance. They were my favourite couple for some weeks going into the final, and I was really looking forward to this routine as I love the film Cabaret. So, I was expecting something more obviously inspired by the 1972 musical film - a routine involving Berlin/Weimar Republic era cabaret motifs, as well as Bob Fosse signature styles such as finger-snapping, bowler hats, gloves, fishnets, canes, chairs, turned-in knees and jazz hands. I know this style has been done before on Strictly, but I'm not familiar with Joe Stilgoe and Metropole Orkest's version of Cabaret that they danced to and I've researched it online but I'm not getting any clear references so I'd be interested to know what Vito took for inspiration for this routine. I thought the lifts were amazing but I found Sarah a little stiff and unstable at times compared to her other dances and I didn't think their outfits gelled. I shall watch the routine a few more times and see if my opinion changes. Chris and Dianne were more than worthy winners - absolutely the right result. What these two have achieved is nothing short of amazing. I think Chris far exceeded most people's expectations and he truly 'opened our eyes' to what people with disabilities can achieve. Let's hope it's a game-changer and alters people's often casual or prejudiced perceptions.
Loved this routine!!! I wish their showdance had more wow moments to add more excitement to the routine, but the choreography and overall feel of the routine was great!!
Our scores: Me: 10 Diya: 10 Kelsey: 10 Owen: 10 40/40 Nobody has body rhythm quite like JB, and he’s got effortless groove and style. I loved the dance, not much else to say about it. Since they only posted the Showdance videos, I’ll briefly comment on the judge’s choice and favourite dances. Both JB’s Viennese waltz and samba got a 40 from us. Viennese waltz- JB and Lauren recaptured the magic of the original performance, this is my favourite dance of his because everything looked so easy. And he kept his thumb down! Truly the best male Viennese waltz in Strictly history. Samba- JB has proven his versatility, from J-Ballroom to samba king, he can do anything. His body pulsated, his musicality was flawless, I enjoyed it just as much as the first one, and I’m glad he picked it as his favourite dance. JB has had the biggest rollercoaster of a journey out of them all. He’s the only contestant to permanently switch partners during a series, and the change from Amy to Lauren was seamless. He danced that first dance with Lauren like they had been partners for years. I loved his journey because he started off quite a technical dancer with Amy, and she layered in the fundamentals with footwork especially. And then Lauren took those fundamentals and added in performance, so JB looked more relaxed and comfortable so he could perform each number. I’ve loved watching him grow a love of dance, I hope he brings some new moves to the JLS tours, he’s a star.
nice medley of motown hits , thought they might have incorporated some northern soul into the routine & why are they dressed like 70's disco when motown was the 60's ,enjoyable to watch though
Well done JB he is good dancer I love JB and Lauren dance together I was happy to see Amy dancing again I hope she comes back next year and Giovanni should come back to I do not believe the whole Amanda and Giovanni scandal she is drama queen and just wants attention it's her fault that Giovanni left I don't feel sorry for her she should apologize to Giovanni for what she did to him and move on
TASHA AND ALJAZ ARE THE REAL WINNERS BY FAR, they should go on to do their own show. Chris will always be a talentless, cheesy, boring, unfunny, ugly comic.
JB is my winner, for his skills and his joy and the beauty they create together!!!!
Joy and energy he brings to his routines are infectious. This man's got a groove.
I love the Motown theme 🎉😁🙌💖🎶.
JB are my winners because he showed excellence in all dance styles. He did ballroom, Latin and jazz/hip hop/modern dancing. The complete package.
Well done JB! He smashed all of his dances and has come into himself right on time. He was my winner!
Best dance of the series, for me. I loved everything about it - the choreography, costumes, music. JB was my winner.
Really enjoyed this routine! JB and Lauren have come so far and thoroughly deserved to be in the final! Really proud of them both! ❤❤
Now that's what you call a showcase!!!!!! Best for a very long time. 🔥⚡🌟
Oh I loved this. The music, of course, is just the best of the best. But their dancing, the colours, the outfits, brilliant!
Great dance, every week you improved and you and Lauren looked like two professionals dancing together. This dance style suited you and makes a great show dance!! Congratulations it was a great watching you dance. So relaxed and full of joy!!
I loved this routine so much. I was super impressed by all of the showdances. What a joy this show is ❤
From across the pond all I got to say is that Lauren has been my favorite pro since she was on last year and even though she didn’t win, I’m so glad that she made it to her first finale even though she was brought in last minute! Forever proud of her!
Amazing performance ❤️❤️
ABSOLUTELY FRIKKEN BRILLIANT 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Awful woke trash
LOVE it!! That was danced with such passion, energy, love, and spirit. Soooo good! 🎉
Just fabulous, loved them together
Such good fun this dance - JB and Lauren thoroughly deserved to be in the finals 😊👍
Score - *10*

Groovy and cool!!!! 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡👏👏👏👏👏
JB was my pick for the win from the off. Sadly it wasn't to be. He's such a lovely genuine guy. Hope SCD will do his career a lot of good. Well done JB. Oh, and MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎅
I’m sure they came second, absolutely amazing partnership, not to mention Amy set the foundation! 🏆
I have watched this back at least three times already. So good! Blooming loved the outfit Jay had on as well, really 70s and cool!
Fantastic!love Motown😊

Completely agree! He would’ve won ANY other year. My winner. Hands down ❤
Very classy! Well done fabulous job!
Soooo good ❤
Lively & magnificent showdance ❤
Strictly Come Dancing is a one of a kind show. No other television show does special effects, like Strictly Come Dancing does.
Doesn't look like the other dances are getting uploaded but I'd have scored JB 10 for both his other dances, he did so well having his partner swap and he really did go on a journey, his Samba and Viennese so worth a 40, they can be so proud of what they've done 🤩🤩
Along with Tasha and Alijaz too, both were my personal winners. Voted for both equally 🎉🎉❤❤

epic dance!
Are the other dances going to be uploaded that the couples danced? The judges picks and the couple’s favourites?
Omg so fun!
Loved this routine!!! I wish their showdance had more wow moments to add more excitement to the routine, but the choreography and overall feel of the routine was great!!

Really enjoyed this! Such a fun and clean showdance! I just wish the outfits were better, they didn't do anything for the performance.
nice medley of motown hits , thought they might have incorporated some northern soul into the routine & why are they dressed like 70's disco when motown was the 60's ,enjoyable to watch though
Sorry but how did this not get a 40?
