I love the move at 10:43 from the bridge pickup to the neck pickup, during the bend whilst the note is sustaining the switch from bridge to neck with no change in volume, and the skills to pull off that move so quickly.
By the way, thanks to Peter for the demo of this gear. It has answered my questions about this Line 6 system audio quality. It sounds great, I have less hesitation in upgrading my older POD Live system to this HD500. Oh, good playing too, man. Many thanks!
I agree--Peter has the riff correct with the picking "Thunderstruck"-- all you have do is listen to hear the brightness of Angus' pick attack on the strings-- it is very clear on the original recording. That sound can't be mistaken as hammer and pull offs
I have an hd400 but hopefully will be upgrading to hd500 soon, they sound even more impressive through tube amps ! I use a hss fender strat btw and I find that enough man
great demo man, sounds great. i'm thinking about buying pod, but i was worried it would sound too "plastic" or something compared to a tube amp and a couple of stomp-boxes. but the quality ad all the stuff this thing can offer for 500 bucks is very interesting
@Usercool . That's a 2009 LS85F....currently its called the LS98F...same guitar. Be sitting when you open the case of your LS150, it will blow your mind. :)
Hmm I didnt know that, never really paid attention to him live. I always thought it was hammers & pulls. That's how I learned it. But now that you mention it, it does have that "picked" attack sound like here.
saw an uinterview with Angus several years ago.. he does Pick every note.. when they went into the studio to record hos other brother George suggested he tape down the strings so he didn't have to worry about muting them... in fact the riff from thunderstruck can about because he used it as a warm up practice.. unless you pickt he notes it just doesn't sound right.. it's made for pickin!!
I'm sorry but I don't have the patches. I only had the unit for a day in the studio so didn't save any patches. I created the patches on the fly just to give an idea as to what the Pod sounds like.
Thanks, just ordered one myself, looking forward to it now! Also can you connect it to monitors or does it need an amp, if it's not plugged into a computer?
Eugene Maher I would recommend you plugging it into a mixing desk which should then be connected to your powered monitors. Hope you enjoy your POD. Cheers.
i have my fingers sit in the e string an my thumb on the g string which also mutes the others then i just use one of my fingers to pluck the b then my left hand does the rest but thats just how i do it i was just trying to be helpful
What year is that LS98 from? I'm anxiously waiting for my LS150 to arrive. That HD500 sounds great and versatile (more than my POD X3) but they're really pricey compared to 'normal' Line 6 standards.
My Fender MIM strat through my HR Deluxe sounds much better doing Green River than that overpriced FX box does. For that matter, my HR Deluxe sounded better doing EVERYTHING on there without any FX boxes. No need for me to spend a lot of money on that unit.

I really like the treadplate tone at the end where you jam to the backing track.Creamy yet with a nice hi fi bite.
Excellent...the 'Empty Rooms' solo was exceptional guitar playing, love the vibrato. A very sweet solo tone as well.
Oh, man. That second Route 66 was one of the sweetest tones I've ever heard.
Great demo that makes me re think the way I use my HD500...thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the comment. Glad to hear that it's helped you.
Great demo dude, I shared it with over 600 friends.
I dig your Angus tone and this vid, Thunderstruck was awesome! keep up the good work! great guitar playing Brotha!
Great demo ... changing my mind back towards these after this cool demo ... thanks!
Awesome!!! You did great on the solo... RIP Gary Moore
nice stuff. Thanks. Shows off what the 500 can do.
I just bought one today. I look forward to tinkering with it. 👍 excellent video. Great playing.
Cheers,
Thanks for the comments. Much appreciated.

GREAT DEMO, KILLER PLAYING DUDE!
best demo of the hd500 yet
Nice. Good tones.
very impressed deffo getting one now
If you plugged this into a cabinet via a power amp, would one amp model come through the left speaker and the other through the right?
Thanks, man. I appreciate it.
Hmm I didnt know that, never really paid attention to him live. I always thought it was hammers & pulls. That's how I learned it. But now that you mention it, it does have that "picked" attack sound like here.
thank you very much my friend!! :D
You're welcome, Javier.
nice stuff.... where can I find patches or are these standard?
Yeah, you're definitely right ;)
I think I'll have to get me one of these. Whats the recommended connections, can I plug it into my Dr Z amp effects loop?
Thanks, Shayne

I am looking for effects, would this be good for my carvin v3 amp? with 2x12 celestion vintage 30's?
Thanks. Nice work!!!! What song are you playing from 10:07 to 11:17? What's the name of melody ? Thank you very much!

how did you get the sound at 0:56 ? i also have a pod hd 500 but i cant get that sound
with thunderstruck you use legato and mute other strings with your right hand
Line or amp?
ive tried to get the sound for where you played thunderstruck but i cant! what did you do?
I'm sorry but I don't have the patches. I only had the unit for a day in the studio so didn't save any patches.
I created the patches on the fly just to give an idea as to what the Pod sounds like.
at 10:10..is that a stock preset on the HD500 ? or is it a custom sound you created ?
James, if I can recall, that was a patch in the unit when I got it to try out. I think that I did add some delay though.
@CrazyDiamond1968 Ok, I'll try to refrain from leaning over the guitar package when I open it in case my face melts. :-)
Good for you.
this, the digitech rp1000 or the boss gt100???
please help!!!
Good unit but it will be a few years before any multy effect boards sound like a real valve amp
It's a Tokai Loverock. Thanks
poxa tinha uma boss e vendi agora tenho toda certesa a pode quebra tudoooooo a melhor
Great demo and playing, dude! One question: are you playing this through an amp/monitor or are you plugged straight into a computer?
Thanks for the comments. This was played direct. No amps.
Thanks, just ordered one myself, looking forward to it now! Also can you connect it to monitors or does it need an amp, if it's not plugged into a computer?

Hey, nice work dude ! What are you playing at 03:41 ? Sounds really good !
Yeh! Patches, please!:)
nice demo, curious with the track from 0:41-1:25 what song is it ?
+KBcool Thanks. It's not any particular track. Just me messing around.
What song are you playing from 1:40 to 2:26? Great video, I think I might get myself a HD500X
Hi Concerned, it's a few AC/DC tracks, starting with Highway to Hell, Shook Me All Night Long, Back in Black>
Hi brother can you make these preset for us?❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏
Yes.
are these factory presets? Whereas the list?
Everything was lined into the mixing desk. No amps.
Is that an epiphone les paul?
Hello all these effects are already or create your facts?
Yeah Ok I'll go on a date with you. Where do you live?
C'mon everybody! Please check Angus young live, you'll se that he always picks the notes in thunderstruck!!!
i have my fingers sit in the e string an my thumb on the g string which also mutes the others then i just use one of my fingers to pluck the b then my left hand does the rest but thats just how i do it i was just trying to be helpful
Really, not big deal for the price !
What year is that LS98 from?

CHECK AT 11:20
agreed
The patches are here..............customtone/profile/Lance/
Is that a Tokai Les Paul you're playing in this demo ?
Oh really????
is the zoom g5 better
Dude, you really shouldn't pick thunderstruck, thats way too weird.
Nice vid though
is that a les paul isn't?nice playing btw..,
Does It have a looper?
What Delay timings does it have?
Can you play with multiple Effects at the same time?
Does he? that's weird, never tought he would do it that way. Still thinks i sound better without picking anyway.. ;p
No
