As an English viewer I always thought of magnus as fluent in English, but watching how eloquent he is in in his native tongue makes me realise he actually has put some serious work into communicating in his videos. He seemed so much more confident and was able to explain himself better. Very cool.
I think some effort also goes into not speaking english the way he'd speak norwegian.. You sort of have to position your tongue differently and generally be aware of not following your tongues natural muscle memory. You can definately tell when a non-native english speaker makes an effort to counter their natural accent :)
There is a thing you do when you're fluent in another language. You switch your brain to that language. Everything. It's down to changing the language you think in to that language. Makes it much easier to use it. That's how I've experienced it anyway. So when I wanna speak my mother-tongue, I simply think and speak Swedish. Then when I need to I switch everything to English.
So nice to hear you guys talk Norwegian ;) and simultaneously thanks for the subtitles :) Enjoyed watching the challenges and big thumbs up for the editing! Yay for more to come!
I never thought I’d be watching a Norwegian gymnast’s channel, but here I am! And it was awesome! Thanks Odin for the video and for making the subtitles. P.S. Here from the Mesternes Mester’s channel
Cool to hear Magnus speaking Norwegian for more than a few seconds at a time. His english is so good you forget it's not his native language sometimes.
@@Mike-oz4cv Unlike Germany, Russia or France we don't have the luxury of being big enough for most things to be localised to our languages :) So any scandinavian kid wanting to use the internet has to pick up english... Really it's a blessing in disguise.
It was really cool to see Magnus chilling and talking in everyone in Norwegian, I definitely wouldn't mind seeing that on his videos. The vid was great, enjoyed the cuts to scenes in the climbing gym mixed in with the gym for gymnastics. Keep up the great work!
Here from Magnus’s channel, you guys are so so cool doing all the moves I barely dream about lol! English is my second language, and (sadly) I know zero about Norwegian, so I pretty much all count on your excellent subtitle, please keep adding these. PS. Norwegian language sounds really elegant to me!
The subtitles are awesome! Thank you. One small critique. Instead of cutting the climbing in gymnastic together I think it'd be better to have those as different videos or at least different sections. I found myself skipping the climbing parts because you left the gymnastics sections on cliff hangers. Great video though. I really liked it :)
First of all, thanks for the subs. I have a few tips for your future videos. The video editing, music, and camera work are great imo. But what's relatively bad is the audio. There's a constant high-pitched squeaky noise and some white noise too. The channels are also unbalanced so the volume is higher on the left than the right it seems. For all of these issues, you don't need to invest in a better mic right away. For the high-pitched noise, you can just EQ it away. For the channel imbalance, you can mono the audio or change the volume of the affected channel. And then you could also make use of some more EQing + Compression for a generally more pleasant and high-quality sound. For the white noise, if you wanna go really fancy, there are some advanced and expensive plugins/VSTs for that too. However, that's not a big problem in my opinion. These simple steps would already help a ton I think.
Bro!! This is the kind of feed back I need!! 😅 Thank you so much! We’ve had some problems with the mic at first, but we thought we figured it out… we’ll work on it. Thanks again!
Thanks for the subtitles! Came from Magnus's channel, cool channel vibe here. Glad to see you actually started the session from 4s and didn't jump straight to 6Bs hahaha.
Well done english subtitles! Made it very easy and fun to watch as someone who doesn't speak Norwegian. One thing I really think would be a good idea in the future is splitting videos like this into more than one video (One for the gymnastics, and one for the climbing). Double the content and I'm sure watch time would improve as well :D Good edits and satisfying format. Keep it up!
I've only heard Magnus speak in Norwegian in one video, so I'm used to him speaking in English. But I really enjoyed hearing him speak in his native tongue!
After watching the English video from Magnus, I notice communication is easier when you get to speak Norwegian. :P And I still understand it as a Swede so no problem there.

Great video! Get your first 100 videos up as fast as you can and then you will grow spectacularly. A few things that could maybe help: -English titles -Proofreading your subtitles / giving them to a native speaker because there were minor mistakes that disrupt the flow, -Starting the video telling us what this video is about -Doing less context switching (for example between the gyms)
