I grew up very poor, at least in the early years due to our situation. Every Friday for supper, my brother & I ate the last of our stale bread with slightly sour smelling milk over it. This was our supper. After my dad left the 4 of us (me, my brother, mom, & elderly grandmother), taking what little money we had, we were forced to begin living out of my grandmother’s car - parked at a gas station that allowed us to use their bathroom. During this time (about 4-5 months) my mother worked a full time job & took as much overtime as she was given. Fortunately, we lived in a warm climate, but it was most difficult for my mother having to sleep in a car & go to work everyday at an office job. This was around 1957, & although there was help available back then, my mom was a proud woman & didn’t want welfare or food stamps. But my brother & I never went hungry, & my mom & my grandmother didn’t eat meals with my brother & me. Later on, I learned from a distant relative why they did this. They WAITED to make sure my bother & me had had enough to eat, then ate what was left. The story would be tragic if the adults caring for us had given up… & fortunately they didn’t. Mom saved a portion of her earning until we were able to rent a place. After a few more years, my mom was able to buy a small house for us.

I find sometimes teachers can be harsh at times I never found that myself, but I am guessing it does happen to some people Like if people normally pass on a test when they get even the a instead of an A+ that can make them feel like they’re not doing enough, even though they tried very hard
but I find that poverty does have challenges And it leaves teenagers with this burden of like you know just a little bit of a failure on their test. It means that they aren’t doing well. You know and when you live in poverty, you’re trying to do everything in your power so that one day you can get a good job go to college you can Be in a business you own your own business and then you have the money to support yourself and your family you know In her situation, I can see it in my mind. I can imagine why that would be frustrating and discouraging you know.
Teeth are not considered health care in the UK. Only if they become infected, then they pull them. The UK is the last country concerned with a model smile.
@@BJM217 Exactly. Teeth and care should be provided by the Government. They didn't help me. l am an adult in my country too and we had to pay a fortune and that was in the year 2000. By a miracle we got a small inheritance. I know about being frozen too. Poor kids it's not fair.
Seems like she need some financial advice on how to manage her money. She has decent things. What about selling the big freezer to fill the little freezer and refrigerator with food🙆. Idk , poverty is a mindset. She gonna always live like that if thats how she thinks
I think all teenagers feel like that you know even the ones that do have money and they’re rich ones. You know the teenagers that are one day gonna grow up with Kelly Clarkson as their mom you know. Kelly Clarkson Also has children and they’re very very very young right now, but they are gonna be teenagers at one point in their life and they will experience that in their life They are normally very, very, very good at getting marks and then all of a sudden they just drop they don’t do as well Doesn’t mean that happens to only people in poverty it happens to people over the place and it is disappointing I can feel and I can imagine it It must be very, very, very discouraging for that person
In England it sounds like it’s completely different because it sounds like people that make more than minimum wage there Are doing OK they don’t have Worry about not having to pay for things in England, and some countries are like that sometimes the Minimum wage people and The people that make More than minimum wage Or able to provide food with her able to give their children the life of luxury you know they’re able to give their children the best life they’re able to hire the best teachers in their school to teach their kids You know they can if their kids need help with something they can hire a person to help their kids with their schoolwork you know
maybe if you don’t go through it yourself you know and you’re not exactly poor, but you’re not rich either Like my family isn’t rich, but they’re not poor either we still can afford food, but we still have to watch our money. We still have to look for the things on sale. And even the people that More than minimum wage in Ontario Canada, the cost of food and everything even the rich people are often left with not much money After they pay their bills and they pay for their gas, they are not Left With in their bank account, you know so yeah
and I’m not saying that you know it sees peoples fault for doing that and I’m not blaming these parents for not working you know I’m not blaming their situation. I’m just saying like it makes sense. If you don’t have the money then you can’t expect people to be able to afford clothing and food. You can’t walk into a restaurant to get a meal for free you know I mean, majority of restaurant won’t allow you to do that
If you will listen, the very first story said they fell on hard times because of an incident not under their control! Why did I have to go on disability? An infection that almost killed me and subsequent surgeries. My husband's spine is almost gone and he has severe neuropathy.
Acorns and dandelions? Really? Do you not know most people live in towns amd cities and nowhere near countryside? And the acorn trees died out decades ago due to blight? Even so, you're believing that 4 million people in a tiny island country are going to be sustained by wild food when there are practically no forests left and certainly no way for even a few people to travel there?
not like people that are making minimum wage and making more than minimum wage, you know those people You know we’re often doing good and then they get one or two marks wrong and then it’s like I don’t really give a shit I’m still better than other people in my class Not as good as you did before is still better than what other people got in the class It means nothing to them because they don’t have to worry about struggling with money. They don’t have to worry about working harder to provide for themselves and For their family They don’t have to worry about the stigma and the fact that you know it’s hard to make friends. They don’t have to worry about being judged and being ignored or bullied by other people you know just because they don’t have any money. They don’t have to worry about that. Why would they worry about a Low mark on one test?
I'm sorry but killing yourself or inflicting self harm is a yellow belly way of checking out. Being poor like this would suck .. but you have to be strong. Jesus loves you. If you serve him and live for him.... you'll not kill yourself. That's a sure ticket for hell. Prayer changes things. Living for God changes lives. He made you and sent Jesus to die for you! Don't give up. Have a heart to heart talk with Jesus. Have family prayers. Cry out to God with all your heart, be sincere. He will hear you and help you!!!! 🙏
What I wonder is why these women don't work during school hours. My country don't have a generous welfare system so the hustle is always on. We buy our own houses. Goverment has houses they build but you pay a mortage. I don't know anyone who don't work. We are all a two income households. Don't understand this.
so yeah, in Canada, it’s like everybody is struggling with money. Everybody is having a hard time buying food and you know being able to afford the things like clothing and things they want to do. In England, the people that do make good paycheques are really, really really good for themselves and while the people that live in poverty are the ones that are struggling That is the wsy it should be you know People that don’t work and don’t get much money should be going to the food bank to get their food It just makes no sense that a person who makes slower than minimum wage should be able to just walk into a store, a grocery store and have money to pay for a whole bunch of food And meanwhile, all the people that make wonderful paychecks, can’t even afford vegetables and
but That is the way it should be. Nobody should be making a great paycheque and still be struggling. That doesn’t make any sense to me. But in Canada and the United States it’s like that just doesn’t make any sense you know but that’s the way Canada is and that’s the way he United States is England Children growing up in poverty or blaming the government for not you know giving the money or as much money as they should be getting a month but yet here the people that do Make very very good pay like 20 or $30 an hour can’t afford food because our Prime Minister just Trudeau is raising taxes on some of the food Like the meat and different things so let’s say something is like five dollars or $5.97 You’re probably paying like $6.30 you know for that item and that say if a pound of ground beef for a pound of chicken thighs are six dollars for like two or three pounds Of beef or chicken That would be like $14 a pound like I don’t understand how even the people that make 20 or $30 an hour will be able to pay for that you know it’s ridiculous Happens to people who own the companies as well. They put the prices up and Justin Trudeau just keeps adding onto it like it’s crazy.
The pressure on these poor children just breaks my heart.... It's so unfair that children have to worry about having food😢.
Het zijn de ouders geen geld dan ook geen kinderen krijgen.

An English boy living in upper Assam /After 5 years he understand Assames language /Assam I n India /Assam famous for tea gardens and wild animals / and one horn Rhinos
Im poor, and i work 7 days a week. And if they want to take every dime of my taxes to feed hungry children then absoutely do it! Oh how i wish i had the ability to feed every hungry child i cross paths with.
my friends own aldi markets. this is good.
but here in Ontario Canada, people that do make 20 or $30 an Our lot of them people can’t even afford to buy food for their children, even though they make great money
And I think it’s happening in the states so yeah, even the people that make really really really good paycheques are still struggling with being able to afford food and being able to
Get their children into things they want to get them into like if their children want to play a sport or something that cost money Canada, and then the United States that make really really really good paycheques can’t afford to even send their children to camp sometimes
Or they can’t afford to pay for a uniform for their daughter or son to be able to play hockey or soccer or you know
How they get internet
The parents probably dislike the idea of working.
Mental health crisis, parents smoking cigarettes, no food. Yikes those poor kids. Parents seem very self focused in these videos. Kids have to come first.
Get a cheaper phone lady and make her work she is shameful
This happens all over the world.
If you dont have money dont have kids! Education!
Or not married
If you cant feed your kids how are you feeding your dog. Its probally starving to death.
In my country it's not even allowed to refuse people with dogs to rent a home because it's important for some people’s mental health.
Courtney’s mom has expensive iPhone
Well lady u keep asking more than 3 times don’t keep asking that lady is not smart and lazy those poor kids
Could she go to a food bank vs taking out a loan for food?
She still has to pay rent and so on
I find sometimes teachers can be harsh at times I never found that myself, but I am guessing it does happen to some people
Like if people normally pass on a test when they get even the a instead of an A+ that can make them feel like they’re not doing enough, even though they tried very hard
Amen !!!
in that debt,no house or money what a shit way to raise a child UK government you should be ashamed of yourself
Maybe the parents could work ?? Just a thought, from someone who worked 60 hours a week to keep my family fed, warm and clothed
Same in Germany ,what is going on in Europe? I know it,but its forbidden to say it ,LG to all brits From Germany
but I find that poverty does have challenges And it leaves teenagers with this burden of like you know just a little bit of a failure on their test. It means that they aren’t doing well.
You know and when you live in poverty, you’re trying to do everything in your power so that one day you can get a good job go to college you can
Be in a business you own your own business and then you have the money to support yourself and your family you know
In her situation, I can see it in my mind. I can imagine why that would be frustrating and discouraging you know.
well you guys should see how is living in poverty in south america...
My god, National Health isn’t working that poor young girls teeth.
Teeth are not considered health care in the UK. Only if they become infected, then they pull them.
The UK is the last country concerned with a model smile.
@@theirmom4723 teeth health is critical for total health. Causes severe health issues.
@@BJM217
Exactly. Teeth and care should be provided by the Government. They didn't help me. l am an adult in my country too and we had to pay a fortune and that was in the year 2000.
By a miracle we got a small inheritance. I know about being frozen too. Poor kids it's not fair.
Why are all these documentaries more than 10 years old
Seems like she need some financial advice on how to manage her money. She has decent things. What about selling the big freezer to fill the little freezer and refrigerator with food🙆. Idk , poverty is a mindset. She gonna always live like that if thats how she thinks
It might not be hers to sell (government housing).
This little girl is in transition between a girl and a mature woman
I think all teenagers feel like that you know even the ones that do have money and they’re rich ones. You know the teenagers that are one day gonna grow up with Kelly Clarkson as their mom you know.
Kelly Clarkson Also has children and they’re very very very young right now, but they are gonna be teenagers at one point in their life and they will experience that in their life
They are normally very, very, very good at getting marks and then all of a sudden they just drop they don’t do as well
Doesn’t mean that happens to only people in poverty it happens to people over the place and it is disappointing I can feel and I can imagine it
It must be very, very, very discouraging for that person
This is old..all these kids are all grown up
What's a fortnite ? Every month in nc usa . I don't need to pay on time . I get a couple weeks .

Poor kids, seems to be part off British culture. Still the same class structure as 100 years ago.
How can this possibly be ok…it’s not!
Why didn't anyone doing the documentary give the mother a little money so they could have some heat?
That boy needs to sell his gaming system headphones and no cells
In England it sounds like it’s completely different because it sounds like people that make more than minimum wage there
Are doing OK they don’t have Worry about not having to pay for things in England, and some countries are like that sometimes the Minimum wage people and The people that make More than minimum wage
Or able to provide food with her able to give their children the life of luxury you know they’re able to give their children the best life they’re able to hire the best teachers in their school to teach their kids
You know they can if their kids need help with something they can hire a person to help their kids with their schoolwork you know
I'm quite intrigue on how can they keep their dog with them
It is the policies of the British and that has done this and the United States government is doing the same.
maybe if you don’t go through it yourself you know and you’re not exactly poor, but you’re not rich either
Like my family isn’t rich, but they’re not poor either we still can afford food, but we still have to watch our money. We still have to look for the things on sale.
And even the people that More than minimum wage in Ontario Canada, the cost of food and everything even the rich people are often left with not much money
After they pay their bills and they pay for their gas, they are not Left With in their bank account, you know so yeah
and I’m not saying that you know it sees peoples fault for doing that and I’m not blaming these parents for not working you know
I’m not blaming their situation. I’m just saying like it makes sense. If you don’t have the money then you can’t expect people to be able to afford clothing and food. You can’t walk into a restaurant to get a meal for free you know
I mean, majority of restaurant won’t allow you to do that
Poverty. Brand new song about this. Come and listen to our message 😢
Shouldnt bring kids into the world unless u csn support them. Poverty has negative effects on them
If you will listen, the very first story said they fell on hard times because of an incident not under their control! Why did I have to go on disability? An infection that almost killed me and subsequent surgeries. My husband's spine is almost gone and he has severe neuropathy.
@@mlkirkl09i know many people are very not sensitive
Or married
Make flour from acorns and greens from dandelions and eat cattails. These 3 u can live healthy forever.
IT'S 2024!!! . NOBODY SHOULD HAVE TO BARELY SURVIVE, IN THE WAY YOU SUGGEST
@jacqueline8559 well, for manu years people have geown food in the garden. Like my grandparents and parents. Supermarkets are not the ONLY way
Don't bring children to this life
Havingbkids dont makeblife better , why not look and see .
Shame on the ones that have kids not married and rely on benefits and lazy and should work
Is there anything i can do for you before your surgery? Clean the house for you?
not like people that are making minimum wage and making more than minimum wage, you know those people
You know we’re often doing good and then they get one or two marks wrong and then it’s like I don’t really give a shit
I’m still better than other people in my class Not as good as you did before is still better than what other people got in the class
It means nothing to them because they don’t have to worry about struggling with money. They don’t have to worry about working harder to provide for themselves and For their family
They don’t have to worry about the stigma and the fact that you know it’s hard to make friends. They don’t have to worry about being judged and being ignored or bullied by other people you know just because they don’t have any money.
They don’t have to worry about that. Why would they worry about a Low mark on one test?
This was done eons ago.

Why have a dog u cant afford 😡 money for dog food huh
Mom needs to step up and get a job or jobs she decided to have the kids she cant keep them in proverty like that.
What I wonder is why these women don't work during school hours. My country don't have a generous welfare system so the hustle is always on. We buy our own houses. Goverment has houses they build but you pay a mortage. I don't know anyone who don't work. We are all a two income households. Don't understand this.
By buying less stuff? 📦
It’s not that simple.
@@teresahiggs4896 I think rich folks have so much crap they don't even need. Does not bring happiness either. 👎

The filmer should be doing more to not just shed light help these families esp with kids involved
so yeah, in Canada, it’s like everybody is struggling with money. Everybody is having a hard time buying food and you know being able to afford the things like clothing and things they want to do.
In England, the people that do make good paycheques are really, really really good for themselves and while the people that live in poverty are the ones that are struggling
That is the wsy it should be you know People that don’t work and don’t get much money should be going to the food bank to get their food
It just makes no sense that a person who makes slower than minimum wage should be able to just walk into a store, a grocery store and have money to pay for a whole bunch of food
And meanwhile, all the people that make wonderful paychecks, can’t even afford vegetables and
it’s very important not to have children
For you
but That is the way it should be. Nobody should be making a great paycheque and still be struggling. That doesn’t make any sense to me.
But in Canada and the United States it’s like that just doesn’t make any sense you know but that’s the way Canada is and that’s the way he United States is
England Children growing up in poverty or blaming the government for not you know giving the money or as much money as they should be getting a month
but yet here the people that do Make very very good pay like 20 or $30 an hour can’t afford food because our Prime Minister just Trudeau is raising taxes on some of the food
Like the meat and different things so let’s say something is like five dollars or $5.97
You’re probably paying like $6.30 you know for that item and that say if a pound of ground beef for a pound of chicken thighs are six dollars for like two or three pounds Of beef or chicken
That would be like $14 a pound like I don’t understand how even the people that make 20 or $30 an hour will be able to pay for that you know it’s ridiculous
Happens to people who own the companies as well. They put the prices up and Justin Trudeau just keeps adding onto it like it’s crazy.
Japan took the money
