The Liverpool Overhead Railway is remembered by the whole city with fondness and regret that it isn't still here.
You can pick up the first of a special four-part series in today's Echo on the 'dockers' umbrella', which stretched from Seaforth and Litherland through to Dingle.
The views from the train carriages were truly breathtaking across the River Mersey with its packed docks, or the city itself.
