STUFFED PASTA SHELLS INGREDIENTS:
►20 jumbo pasta shells, cooked to package instructions
►1/2 medium onion, chopped
►3 garlic cloves, minced
►1 tsp salt, divided
►1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper, divided
►1/4 tsp dried oregano
►3 cups marinara sauce
►15 oz ricotta cheese
►1 large egg
►1/3 cup parmesan cheese
►3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided (8 oz by weight)

@@daniellegrandpa Hi Danielle! Did you make sure all the excess water was out of each pasta shell; it is supposed to be a little juicy. What I did was uncover the dish towards the end and you can broil under the broiler for a couple of minutes to a golden brown. That will help take any extra liquid out, but not dry it out. Hope this helps.

I'm a grown man and watching your son's delight with your cooking reminds me of me with my late mother who passed away 12 weeks ago. I always started to salivate the moment she said what she was going to cook. I could never eat just one portion of her cooking, always seconds at least! I would happily cook for her and she always complemented me, saying she taught me well but I always found that my cooking was lacking something even though she denied it.

I practiced it again another time, and again for family
I do this with each of the dishes I remember from childhood

Sounds wonderful I would also add mushrooms and some Italian sausage and fennel seed to the sauce. I saw a hack to cook the shells add hot water to shells and let sit for half an hour to get perfect al dente.

I made stuffed shells a couple of times and I would normally pour the marinara sauce on top and then top it with cheese and put it in the oven, but today I followed this recipe and this is waaaaaay better, I could actually enjoy the taste of the different cheeses and my daughter loved it .So I will continue to make it this way. Ive been making baked stuffed shells for 100 yrs, :) the first time without smothering it in tomato sauce.. what a great twist and a big hit.. the cheesy shells really came thru and I served my homemade sauce on the side. Thx!

Wow - there is a reason there is not ONE dislike. This recipe has a great technique and I am going to make it tomorrow. Will add a cup of diced, cooked butternut squash and sautéed zucchini just to add more colour and nutrients. For my neighbours family that just had a baby!

Hi Natasha, thank you for the recipe and video. Our family love this creamy pasta. We couldn’t find jumbo shell pasta here so I replace it with penne which is equally as lovely. I didn’t get to stuff the cheeses filling. I instead mixed penne pasta with the cheese filling then place them on top of the tomato base. I enjoy all your videos. They’re easy to follow and delicious.
