Brand new to the dj thang. I’m a radio guy but being asked to do shows. So I had to grab something to test and learn on. Looked to see if there was any videos exactly like this and yours popped up first. Appreciate this here.
Great video man, appreciate it! I got the REV1 as my backup controller a few weeks ago. Bought it as an Amazon warehouse deal and it was described as "used", but to my surprise, it came with the original seal still intact and everything was brand new. Guess I was just lucky then! 😅 Great little controller, I even revived my DI box just to use it even at bigger events, that's how fun it is to play around with! 👍
For the price that rev 1 is incredible I was using the OG ddj RB and that thing is beat over years of use I just pulled the trigger and got the rev 1…features functionality and price made this purchase a no brainer 🔥🤙🏾
Great review and performance. I currently use this controller for small parties and as long as you can beat match quickly and scratch this piece of kit provides quality output which you just demonstrated. I don’t understand how this is an entry level piece of gear? This works extremely well running out of an external mixer going to QSC 8 tops and 12 subs.
@@djhov9318 Yes sir! You’re spot on. I was just talking about all the other people reviewing this product that say that it’s an entry level controller. You’re the only reviewer that demonstrates the what a highly skilled DJ can do with this piece of kit. Keep doing what you do DJ! ❤️
@@djhov9318I'm a dj from the 80s that started on turntables and I still know how to scratch and mix and im thinking about getting back into djing small gigs but now I'm just having a hard time deciding on a controller 🤔 even though the platters move on the Hercules impulse t7 would you go with the ddj rev 1 slightly over the Hercules? I probably can afford the ddj rev 5 but part of me wants to get familiar with the ease and functionality of the rev 1, and on the other hand or go ahead and choose something for the long haul 👍🏽 🤔 help me out with deciding 😀
i been looking for this for weeks now. i didn't think I could use the irig with my Rev1. Thank you for this video. My only question is where is the sound coming from, the phone, monitor speakers or the phone?
thank you for this!! I'm having issues getting sound when i connect it, could you kindly share you macbook sound settings - appreciate ya man and subscribing!
Hey, this is an awesome video! I just had a quick question. Once I plug in the rev1 to my computer, will the sound just be played through the speakers that are connected to my computer, or do i have to connect the speakers to the controller itself? And also, where can I plug in headphones if I want to listen to a channel without it playing through the speakers? Thanks!
Hey Thanks for watching. To answer your question Yes once you plug rev1 to computer you would have to connect speaker to controller itself in order to hear sound. If you want to listen to channel without it playing though speakers then just disconnect the speakers. It’s plug and play so technically you do not need speakers if you just want to use headphones
Say my brother i use to be one of the best DJs from where im from and a friend of mine convinced me to get back in the game and im going with the ddj rev 1,so not spending too much money what else do I need as far as a laptop and my music? What kind of software for the music? Thank you very much
Am thinking of buying this. If i plug controller to my computer via USB and my computer has speakers, do I need to plug RCA cables to hear the music out or the music will play through speakers of my computer?
@@cheesegrillz if you plug controller to computer you will not hear it thru the computer speakers you will need to buy speakers & use rca cables…or if u do not have speakers u can use the headphones to plug into controller
@@djhov9318 so how can I record the audio of my mix without having a microphone pointing at rca speakers plugged to controller? am very new but want to start scratching

Hi, I am having an issue with the sound. My Mac shows DDJ-Rev1 in out for sound, but I do not have any sound coming out since doing the iOS update.. Is it something in the settings?
Needed this. Answers all my questions.

True that, I was really referring to price point wise if people didn’t want to spend thousands for a more complex controller with more options.

The irig2 link doesn’t show the adapter
Thank this helps. I bought mine and it didn’t come with the cable 😢
You the best man
hi, where do you get the trax you prefer from - instrumentals, scratch tools etc? Are they accessible through serato?

What does the i rig2 do
What software you use to stream??
OBS studio
@djhov9318 do you use Serato Pro to record or do you use mixing software and use OBS to stream or record? Sorry am new to DJing and streaming 😅
