I remember playing 4, 5, and Zero with my dad who was an Air Force pilot. We had so much fun playing together. He taught me so much about planes, and he was really impressed with some of the game's realism like how the HUD looked and a lot of the maneuvers they taught you. Plus the writing and music in these games was really well done. Memories I'll cherish forever.
This game had probably the best storyline ever. It's so in depth and really gets you attached to the game. I love this game, wish there were more games as in depth as this. I really wish other game developers would look at this game and see what a excellent storyline is.

Playing this then Zero and seeing Pixy obliterate half of Gelb squadron made me appreciate having competent teammates. Ace Combat 7 could have used some of that
@@trevelyandovah8479 I think it might have to do with the fact that Pixy was a lone wingman with you. So the devs purposely made him more OP in Zero to replace the three squad mates in Ace Combat 5.
Played this game as a child. It has had a significant impact on my life. Years later I simply look it up on the web every now and then because it makes me feel good inside.

Jack Barttlet Fifteen years ago there was a war... Also, the Halo game series has, in my opinion at least, evolved whereas the AC has slowly become less and less story (see AC6 and ACAH as reference).
I am yet to play ac6 but I've heard it wasn't as good as the ps2 ones storyline wise, dont even get me started on the shitty generic plotline of assault horizon i was able to predict the end from mission 3 . Thing is there was nothing wrong with the old ace combat formula competitve online doesnt really go with the game to be honest what made this game was the story and I'm yet to experience something that in a single game rivals that of ac5

The first Ace Combat game I ever played. Never actually had a favorite plane, except the F-15 and Su-27 classes. Both planes are true predators. The story was awesome, and the graphics superb. When I finished this, I felt empty, knowing it was over, and so I kept playing it, until my PS2 broke. Back then, games were all about fun. Now though...

This is Back when games focused on the story's way more .when I played this game for the first time I just played it to get to the different cutscenes and see how the story' went....the newer game ace combat six was only good to the new graphics. The planes and cockpit's looked a awesome and the combat was good...besides that It was still a disappointed to me..first off only 15 missions that I could beat in a day. It had 15 different aircraft....now ace combat 5 had 29 missions and like 53 aircraft...huge difference... And the story was amazing.... AC6s story was OK but...it was bad for the game.... The story because it wasn't even about the game.. It was about a mother trying to find her kid ...it was so off topic
I keep coming to this awesome game since i got my flat ps2 before 😭😭😭 this is the 1st game i played in ps2. The cinematic the plot are impressive it gives emotional and different experience as you encounter unique gimmicks of enemies like the hologram jets etc. Razgriz Squadron and Pops are 🔥🔥🔥🔥
One thing that Ace Combat does great is make the player feel awesome. That awkward moment when your squad is so epic it threatens to end a war too quickly and some Grey Dudes try to have you assassinated.
Ace Combat 5 is my favorite too, but in AC6 defence the missions were quite longer and I liked the battle system that spread across the whole map. Also I found the story cool, especially how the game keeps talking about when we'll finally reach Gracemeria, and when you finally do reach the city it's really the peak of the game. AC5 had 50+ aircrafts but lots of aircrafts were just recolorations of other aircrafts with small stat changes. And the gameplay felt far more responsive in AC6. All in all, from a 'game' point of view, AC6 is the better game. But AC5 is just so much better when it comes to story, setting and how the plot is brought about.
@@MrZozue I wouldn't call AC6's story a trainwreck, it's certainly more intimate and smaller scale than AC5 but the characters are endearing and the buildup to Gracemeria works really well. Not all story needs to be tentacular like AC5's. But Xbox exclusivity sure sucks
AC6 dealt with some incredibly ugly realities of war. War orphans, civilian displacement, survivors guilt, and wounded warriors to say a few and dealt with them in a very human way. Even the final mission had more of a somber tone, like you facilitating the death of a nation, and personal talking on the ground were well aware of their fate. Personally, I loved 6. I love 5.

Yeah. Some fans speculate that Blaze and Nagase did marry and have a kid, but we will just have to wait until AC7 to learn more about them and the Razgriz ACS.

We lost the man who voiced "Papes" a few years ago, they should of made this into an anime
