    Small tip, JC: Pose minifigure’s legs. The way you have them makes it look like everyone is just standing around.

    A lego city needs life. Your video is inspirational. My favorite scene is the animals chasing the pet shop employee or caretaker..

    Really good video with some really good tips.
    My favourite scene was the woman threatening the corn man with scissors.

    JC, I've been binge-watching your videos. I just finished cleaning our LEGO room and will be in the process of putting everything back together. I'd like to make more LEGO scenes around it and am looking for inspiration. Thank you!

    You expressed alot of great advice which is something I will defiantly be taking on board. Dynamic scenes really bring a city to life as I have saw many cities that just have nothing really going on. On the other hand I have saw cities with to many far fetched dynamic scenes, because some people would think of every dynamic scene as people fighting or as a car crash but it just doesn't look realistic when there are to many of these type of scenes. When there is moderation between static, a standard dynamic scene along with a few intense dynamic scenes the city will look interesting and realistic. 😄

    I liked the one you actually removed which was the person trimming the corn guy. They all really added up though to make it quite dynamic! How about adding some buskers...people always love a little live music.

    • @SmallBrickCity
      @SmallBrickCity  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The corn guy scene is subtle :-) Yes, buskers is a great idea. To add conflict, I would have a pickpocket in the crowd :-P

    all the minifigs are standing still for more realistic scenes make them be walking or running

  • @JoellieYT
    @JoellieYT 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    These are some pretty great ideas JC! I do have a question. When I was younger I tried to fit as many dynamic scenes in as possible. Do you have any thoughts on having too many of 'em, or do you think you can't have enough?
    I think I will incorporate some more dynamic scenes ideas into my city, 'cause they're pretty great :D

    • @SmallBrickCity
      @SmallBrickCity  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Great question. I think there is almost never too much if the dynamic scene fit the context and surrounding, like a real city. I gave one technique of randomness. So, that should be used sparingly and in that case, there can be too many random scenes as too many would not he realistic.

    • @JoellieYT
      @JoellieYT 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Small Brick City Interesting thoughts. I agree. Too much randomness also gets rid of the realism (the dinosaur you talked about XD) Or 3 bank robberies at the same time. Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it :D

    I struggle on positioning, because I have two big modular, the Parisian Restaurant and the Diner, I feel that if I have them next to each other it would look weird because my smaller, 16x32 modulars will look weird with them aswell.

    • @SmallBrickCity
      @SmallBrickCity  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It could be the colour of your smaller modulars. Maybe they contrast too strongly against the two big ones. Consider the alley idea? I suggest taking cheap grey plastic files with plastic covers and cut them to a 8 x 32 size to act as an alley plate.

    I honestly have no problem with creating scenes in my Lego City I have a building on fire with firetrucks shooting water at it and there are people running and there is a traffic jam on the street(I have a big imagination)
