Really enjoyed the Cole Cubelic interview. I’m not an auBarn fan, but I’ve always enjoyed Cole on ESPN. I love that he and Greg McElroy have a show together as they are two of the few ESPN employees capable of being unbiassed in their commentary. Also i have to say Josh was rocking the black shortsleeved hoodie👍🏻👍🏻. By far the best so far in the SpeakerSeries!

I agree!! There is no form of loyalty… let me rephrase, the loyalty is not as strong when you make your commitment today! Kids are thinking, I’ll get some money here and if I don’t like it, I’ll go elsewhere! Annnnd… the coaches are as much to blame! As soon as a kid is in, regardless of tampering, inducements offered or whatever, the coaches are the 1st to jump on them greedily, until the kid doesn’t want to be there!! It’s really sad that we don’t have the 4/5 year player staying because they love the game!!

Every weekday morning, on my way to work in the greater Birmingham metro area, I listen to a radio show hosted by this Cubert guy and some Bammer named McGreg. I just wish that, at some point in your interview, someone had mentioned the name of his show. It's a real shame. Guess I'll just have to continue to refer to it as "Cubert and Bammer Talk Football." War Eagle anyways.

DO not care for these entire shows devoted to another host of another show/podcast. If I want to listen to Cole Cubelic (which I don't) I would listen to his show. I'm comfortable with the Late Kick layout and content, and I hope this episode is not a precursor of things changing. Thanks Josh.

Whoever first suggested this idea as a possible show needs a huge raise. Josh rarely has someone else on in this type of format, so because he did this program with Cole, I like Josh's show even more. He kicked things around and did something unexpected that keeps Late Kick fresh. At the same time, I think Josh recognizes in Cole another voice who can add a lot of value to the commentary on the monumental changes college football is going through. The idea worked.

Those little teams don’t actually draw that much money when you take into account how much they have to pay to go to places. The further it is to travel the worse it gets. Deion did a study with Jackson State and they would lose money. Not only that get players hurt bc competition isn’t close to even.
Also I said this a bunch and the lower levels especially group of 5 teams do need to break of and maybe some others and have their own division. Have their own playoff and people would watch with more equal competition. It’ll make for better football all around for everyone and keep some lower teams around. There’s so much logic to these conversations that selfish people don’t care about. Like you guys said there’s enough to go around. It’s only crowded in the middle or lower sections as such is life. The top is clear as day and has plenty of room.

Hate it that Deion Disrespected all the men who committed to The School and when Deion showed up he told them to get lost! They have always said you commit to the school not the coach but Deion did everyone of them wrong. They did what was asked of them when they committed and Deion treated them badly.
Keep watching because the players he is paying to play there will do the same thing to him and have No Respect for the school or the fans, Why Should they ??

I love both of you guys, but the undertone of some of the "cfb supposed to be" stuff still irks me. Players gain a lot from the brand... but who was the brand of the school built on the backs of? You're saying "I miss the old days" for nostalgia, but was that nostalgia built on something that was ethically exploitative?

See this is my argument for Texas. Those who have Washington as doing good last year and this year. Top8-15 team so to speak. Then you say this or that about Texas. The same regurgitated stuff. Texas would’ve beat them without the 3 opt outs with a way younger team especially Oline but 60% in 2 deep for the whole team and starters. The Oline started 3 freshman and a sophomore. Yeah we lost this opt outs and other going into next season but we’ve replaced them with same level or better talent. While getting older and actually developing talent bc the staff has shown the ability to develop unlike the players under Herman. That’s just one argument for Texas being better then add the others like more the one WR option and the other WR who’s good going to his natural position bc we won’t be running the ball as much bc we had to last year. I could go on but with context and logic it’s easy to see. Josh you always talk about year to year is what you should evaluate so Texas getting all the same ol conversation or must do this or that is old. If sark win 9-10 games and has another 5-10 level recruiting class the we’re in a great space. Even with an older team we still have freshman that will start or get major playing time. Fans and others don’t seem to care but it’s reality the program is still growing.
