- Today I'll be checking the performance of some of the cars available to overclock after the new Asphalt 9 Legends update, since this feature has been quite controversial, overall, and I thought it would be nice to have a look at the performance gap of some of the cars affected by this new feature, which was announced in the new update patch notes as one interesting concept to keep an eye on, but... is it true? Let's find out!

I think this feature can be used correctly. I would love to see some of the OG bad handling cars like 003S, F12tdf, etc. to see how much it can be an improvement.

The problem happens when you're in a lobby of players with similar skill range. On iOS in top 500, it's quite competitive. Many times the guy below you is just a few milliseconds behind. Since the current OC-ed cars include the most spammed cars (Huracan in B, Jesko/Nevera/Chiron in S. Thank God no Vanda in A), if you're up against an OCed car, chances are you'll end up losing to it. That's what is wrong with the current OC scheme. I'd have been fine if only less frequently used cars were buffed, or some car that only beginners or low-end garages would have so that they can compete against high garage value players. But it's not the case. Of course if you are much higher skilled than the other guy, it doesn't matter if he is using OC. But once you move up, the skill gap narrows down. And you might have to do more races than before to keep moving up.
Luckily, that won't be a big issue once crossplay arrives
The overclock feature was quite something similar to what Asphalt Xtreme used to have. The overclock is still considered a new feature so perhaps in the future we might get more improvements regarding this.
It does make a big difference. You can notice it very well when you drive an Invencible. Normally the Invencible easily destroys the Huracan in the first 10 seconds, but with this OC, suddenly you can't even pass the Huracan anymore in the first 10 seconds with an Invencible.
imo the skill plays a huge role in that specific situation
Too bad, it can't be applied to some other cars. I was eager to apply it on 488 GTB...
the overclock car rotation changes
Maybe on the upcoming seasons, since the overclockable cars pool changes from time to time

Full nitro tank at the start and double nitro tank to buried the game for good

It would've been nice if the overclock feature gave a boost to those cars that are not too useful in MP e.g. The Aston Martin Vulcan or Ferrari 488 GTB . An opportunity to play with a car you like that doesn't necessarily have the best stats .

The overclock is like i expected it. But the only flaw is that u cant get chips for free that much. They should put it in MP series rewards or something.

I totally agree with what you said in this video. Overclock only provides a small boost but in the end skill matters. For example, I can beat some of the overclocked Huracans from time to time in MP using my Huracan which is not overclocked though my skills are just of average level. By the way thanks for racing some of the overclocked cars which I don't own in the game so that I could see their performance.

It’s decent. I would like to see more of this being used on the other garage level, career, and the exclusive cars that can improve some of the stats.

in ferrari gp i used overclock to check its progress in practice race but i didnt found anything special or changeable does overclock boost the stats to max or just boost stats equivalent to one or two stars

there's no overclock boost available for the Vanda during this season
About the skill thing it is kinda true but i remember beating a manual driver in the same car because they crashed

Yo bro, im curious, what are the stats of the GT3 RS after overclock, bcz i dont have it and i kinda want to know how op it is after overclock

Handling - 97.29
Nitro - 90.01
the top speed is 342.3 but everything else is right

Thankfully Overclock is not the braindead stat buff that everyone initially feared.
I prefer if it was counted per-race instead of per-time because of the limiting nature of the fuel points system.
It easily becomes a waste if I wanted to maximize their use for example with my Golden Ultima RS. I only have 3 fuel points with a 6hr refuel delay which would amount to roughly 6 to 9 races of use under ideal conditions. 🤷
Best to just save it until I have a very compelling need to use it. 💁

I think the only problem with Overclock is allowing it to be used in events like grand prix and clash. Because in these events, this small burst will make a lot of difference.

I would argue it’s more an issue for skilled players where the time margin becomes very low on tracks.
If you play pvp, u should worry. If you play pve, it's good

If the overclock exists on apollo n, it would completely destroy class B except high end cars

I mean, the normal one is the same. 80 points of nitro is really good already
I recently overclocked my D class Porsche (I forgot the name), but it was a waste bcs I have played only 2 races with it and the overclock expired after 5 hours. I didn't use it, so it's a waste. I think if gameloft make it like 2 chips for 10 minutes or something similar like the a8 boosters, then the overclock will be more useful and a lot of people will use it. And that one guy 6:28 - 6:51 😂.

I've beaten every overclocked car I came across on mp but I think it's probably useful to players with similar skills other than that it's not that much of deal

But as per my opinion, it wont be helpful, if they just boosted all cars equally, like boost the lower tier cars more, so it would make sense to buy them for players not having spammed cars .but at the end , it would profit GL , so why would they listen anyways😂
Idk why people are not talking about the Griffith being overclockable. Its top speed will be faster than most C class kings.

@@CarsOnGaming yeah that is true indeed but that car has a bad handling and nitro so it would make a slight difference to a car that is already too OP for it's class.
I hope knight makes a comparison video of jesko vs jesko oc, chiron vs chiron oc, to see how much time difference there can be.
the difference will be so small I doubt Knight will make a video about that, but we'll see

drifting radius matters more than actual handling when the car isn't in c/d/low b/a class.
also I think the amount overclock boosts the car is relative to the cars golden ts, not its overall rank (this is an overall pattern)
I know this is true because if you look at how the one77 gains rank (with a lower gold rank) vs the gt3, all 3 evo's, essenza ect.
Some cars are exempt from this and there is some variation though, like the huayra R gets buffed really hard for some reason... (they want players to use it lol)
They still ain't fixing Huayra R drifting which is funny to say at least

A PR move from the developers to popularize the game, for players it’s an empty innovation. Overclock is just some new content for the streamers who is always crying about that this game is dead, ecpecially on iOS.
