    Na he hasn’t fallen. The fact he’s protecting those natives kinda kills the theory. As far as to why Sabine found em so soon, I blame the fact Dave only had 8 episodes to work with….there are going to be inherent pacing issues with so few episodes.

    • @straighttalkwithkyle7947
      @straighttalkwithkyle7947 ปีที่แล้ว +39

      Yeah, if anybody has a dark secret to hide, it's Sabine. She's the one who made the choice to put their galaxy in danger just to get to him. A choice he wouldn't have made for himself. There's a reason why she didn't just tell the truth right away when asked. As far as she knows right now, they are stranded with no way back and Thrawn will be returning to the main galaxy.

    How Sabine found Ezra, was the most archetypal "trust in the force" version of coincidences stumbling together. Raider ambush, sensor destroyed, wolf horse finds local sentients, local sentients are part of the rebellion, leads her to Ezra in a location they wouldn't be in tomorrow. No one but a Jedi would have found him so fast and in this way.

  • @ameleiizane
    @ameleiizane ปีที่แล้ว +20

    It seems too good to be true but I think it’s him. I think he did kill a lot of Thrawn’s soldiers but, he’s not the big bad Baylon is sensing. Especially seeing him with those cute little ugly rock snail creatures. I think people really need to get over dark vs light in these situations. He is a survivor and he can no longer live the rules the Jedi order enforced. I think whatever is calling Baylon, is protecting Ezra and that’s what Thrawn is afraid of. When Ashoka arrives the shizz is gonna hit the fan.

  • @OldHenryLee
    @OldHenryLee ปีที่แล้ว +12

    I'm one of the posters that question Ezra. ... From my view it has a lot to do with Baylan's description of the planet itself. ... It's not that I believe he's turned to the dark side. It's that I don't believe it was him. ... He wasn't concerned enough about how Sabine got there & where others were. ... I mean, he must have seen Thrawns ship arrive to the Night Sister's fortress & know that they know Sabine is there. ... He was just too relaxed about it all, IMO.
    As said in this video, I also believe the odds are low it's anything but Ezra & simply not enough time in the episode/series to develop things with it all.
    Hey, shall see & know soon enough 🎉

    It would be interesting if it was abeloth controlling Ezra. You mentioned that he could be a bit mad. Who is an ancient demon that is known for causing madness? Abeloth. Instead of baylen being attracted to abeloth, Abeloth could be using Ezra as a conduit of some sort. She has had thousands of years to plot her return. She may be using it as a trap to kill all who can sense her power. In other words, she may be using Ezra to kill baylen to keep her presence unknown until the time is right.

      Fun fact, and something I didn’t think about/notice till just now. The fight between Shin and Sabine in the first episode of Ahsoka was the first live action lightsaber fight between 2 women. Also, I never felt there was anything romantically going on between Ezra and Sabine, besides Ezra flirting with her when he first met her. That’s why I’m in the Sabine and Shin shipping camp, which would also be the first gay/lesbian couple on screen in star wars, and makes sense for those 2 characters, cause they’re both not very “girly”, and if Thrawn ends up killing Baylan for actually not killing Ahsoka off, Shin could very likely join Sabine and Ezra to get revenge on Thrawn, and/or continue Baylan’s cause in some way, depending on what that ends up being. And Sabine and Shin both have that rebelish, stubborn, and dark tendency nature, the latter Shin more than Sabine of course, so I think they could compliment each other well, learning a lot together and from each other. I don’t know if Dave would go there, but I’d love to see it, not for the sake of representation at all, which I don’t care about, but because it could actually make sense for the characters and the story.

    If we compare what Ezra was wearing before and after, his clothes seem to be in taters, and he could be wearing the tags as a form of armor in this unknown/uncharted galaxy to protect himself since resources could be scarce. The same could be said with Thrawn, due to resources being scarce he wants to focus on not losing as much as possible and stays away from Ezra bc that could cause further problems for him.
    In legends (not sure about cannon), there were sith who only existed without being bloodthirsty, or Ezra has become a Grey Jedi or even surviving by only acting in defense of himself like a Jedi.

  • @ytafan4068
    @ytafan4068 ปีที่แล้ว

    Let's talk about Abeloth first. I don't know about Abeloth being a factor because we haven't seen any obvious signs pointing to her. The "power" Baylin has been talking about might be the natural presence in the Force that the planet possesses. Kinda like how Dathomir has one.
    Turning to the dark side? I don't know. I'm going to draw on the second Rambo movie and the Traitor novel here. After Rambo escaped from the prison camp, his main focus was surviving long enough to complete his mission and getting back to base. He did whatever he needed to do to accomplish that. Used whatever was available. Used any means necessary. Jacen Solo did the same thing during his captivity with the Yuuzhan Vongs. He did what he needed to do to survive and later to escape. Used whatever resources were available. Used any means necessary. Both followed the belief: The ends justify the means.
    Ezra might have done the same thing - doing what he needed to do to survive. He probably escape the Chimaera after arriving at Peridia, then spent the past decade taking out any squads of stormtroopers sent to eliminate him. The main difference Ezra had from Rambo and Jacen was his empathy. He probably found the Noti, befriended them, and started to shift his focus towards protecting the Noti as well. He'll probably need some psych therapy after returning to the galaxy. Just like Rambo needed and got. Just like Jacen needed, yet didn't really get.
    That's assuming he survives. I originally thought that the Ghost crew would find a clue to Ezra's whereabouts and learn about Thrawn's as well. They head to the Unknown Regions, find them, and stop Thrawn once and for all. But in the process, they learn about rumors about Exegol and Palpatine's survival. They go to investigate, but are captured and later killed. Now I'm thinking that Ahsoka and company are about to learn a terrible secret about Peridia. I saw some preview clips on TH-cam for Episodes 6 and 7. I'm wondering if they're fake now, but I thought I saw a figure that I didn't recognize. It led me to believe that maybe Thrawn encountered a race that would be a substitute for the Yuuzhan Vongs. Formed an alliance and intended to bring them back to the galaxy. The Yuuzhan Vongs appearing? No. Now I'm wondering if it has to do with those stormtroopers he has. No self-respecting Imperial commander would allow his troopers to wear armor in such disrepair. Anyways, back to the main point. Whatever it is they learn, they realize they can't let Thrawn bring it back. So they wait until the Chimaera links up with the Eye of Sion, and destroy both ships. Sacrificing themselves to eliminate Thrawn, the Nightsisters, the dark Jedi, and the new threat. but they do it before entering hyperspace. Last thing the galaxy needs is another Great Disaster.

    Thrawns comment seems to be something that is more to get information out of Sabine with her reaction...after all, him seeing the situation as her viewing him as a threat to the galaxy there and she's letting him come back because she wanted to find Ezra.
    One thing that could be interesting is if several of the Imperials, essentially, defected at some point in the past...
    You have the ones that are seemingly in a Thrawn cult, and probably several that were getting worried about the fanaticism of others for the "alien" while also several, potentially, blaming Thrawn for stranding them there. Even conscripts now with no way home and in another galaxy when they may not have even wanted to be in the military in the first place. Having a pile of them turning against Thrawns forces could have happened and been a very interesting twist.
    Another thing might be that Ezra, potentially, just blames himself for stranding everyone so far away from home, taking the dog tags of the dead in order to at least let their families know what happened to them in the end does also seem like something that Ezra might do

    One theory I wanted to put out there is the idea that we have a huge, world-ending battle coming. The reason I say this is because of Baylan and Shin's last names. Baylan "Skoll" and Shin "Hati" is suspicious as someone who understands Norse myths. In Norse mythology, Skoll and Hati are the giant wolves that chase the sun and the moon and are considered as one of the precursors to Ragnarok. Once they eat the sun and moon then Ragnarok begins. I don't know what Baylan and Shin would "eat" in order to begin this battle, but I feel like their names are significant.

    I actually have another theory, while the idea of Ezra being manipulated is an interesting concept what if this isn't Abeloth herself. She's incredibly powerful, a literal force of nature that is embodiment of chaos. While that may seem evil to there is something to consider, the powers of which she can tap into. She could in theory take the form of Ezra and basically use him like a skin suit to escape back to the Star Wars galaxy and bring wrath and ruin on everyone who sent her to the hellish exile. Her taking his form and protecting those beings are part of a plan to gain support in getting her back. Plus, this would also explain the night sisters knowledge and belief system of the daughter and the son and their forms. She could have taught them about her family and overtime the Night sisters came to understand just how deranged and dangerous Abeloth really was and why they are so insistent to getting as far away as possible. Her presence could also be affecting the planet in a way that is made it to what it is now.

    I know I’m late to comment, but i read somewhere that it cant end well for most of the good guys in these shows because then they would be in the sequel trilogy. So maybe he turned to the dark side and the destroy each other in the end, giving rise to the first order. Shifting the whole mandoverse from the good guys winning battles to the bad guys winning more and it ends with someone like Ezra helping the emperor return and in the process they all kill/destoy each other.

    I'm not really sure if stormtroopers even have dog tags. If that's what Ezra's undershirt is actually made of, it still wouldn't really be weird for him. He always used to collect their helmets before, so collecting stuff from stormtroopers fits what he already used to do.

    I think they are using part of the unused Rebels Season 5 script. It was stated in that that in the other galaxy Ezra learned unbelievably powerful dark side force powers from an ancient Rakatan Darkside force user. It would explain the need to name drop that specific race in Andor. So the interaction between them feeling like it lacked emotion is because they are both hiding something with Ezra hiding the former and Sabine hiding the fact that she has to help Thrawn.

    Let's look at the fundamental philosophy of Grandmaster Yoda before jumping to these conclusions..."too quick you are to find truth without knowledge". Now let's look at how easily Luke found Yoda when he crash landed on Degobah. Its hasty to draw conclusions without the bigger picture. The Ashoka series has a budget, and it could also be that certain events are forced before they can be properly fleshed out due to that budget. How does one know for certain that Ezra hasn't been fighting for the light and is growing tired of the violence...much like Ashoka herself did. I feel it's way too hasty to draw the conclusion of Ezra's "fall" just as many assumed falsely about Luke's turn to the dark side in his attempt to defeat Vader, which he ultimately rejected. Its all speculation, and as Obi-wan would likely phrase it, 'your suspicion (based out of fear) clouds your judgement in the force'. Assuming isn't the Jedi way, but that of a sith acolyte...

    Every week youtubers theorise the heck out of each episode, and it always turns out to be wrong: Fake Anakin, Yuzong Vong, Starkiller Marrik, and now Dark side Ezra, along with Abaloth.
    Even though Filoni seems to be bringing in the overall Heir to the Empire plot into the canon with this series, so far it seems to me like he's been going at it in a pretty safe manner.
    When the knowledge of the new galaxy dropped, the whole fandom became excited due to the limitless prospects this could entail.
    But with what I've seen, I reckon the production leadership might have been too afraid to take such a massive risk, fearing it would be perceived as "not Star Wars enough" by the fandom. So they allowed the new galaxy plot point to exist, but refrained from doing anything too outlandish until they had tested the waters with this season.
    Heed my words:
    This Ahsoka season will most likely end up being pretty mild. I wouldn't expect any big reveals, such as Abaloth, on this season. If they do have it mind, they'll merely tease it at most, in order to test reception without actually committing.
    Anything of substance will likely happen next season, once they've gotten a good read on the audience.
    I expect that Anakin will be the biggest fan-service we'll get this time around.

    I don't think Ezra has turned to the dark side. He's grown so much and sacrifice so much to turn back. However, while I don't think he has gone crazy, I do believe that like Sabine, being isolated had given Ezra some PTSD.
    We need to remember that Ezra was orphaned at the age of 7, lived 7 more years on the streets, became basically a child soldier at 14 years old, found out his parents died about a year later, gave in to the Dark Side not too long after that, lost his master about 2 years later, rejected Palpatine's second chance to bring back his parents, and resolved himself to bring Thrawn's fleet to the Unknown Regions while leaving his second family behind. Now add 10 years of being alone with no one who he can really confide him, being hunted by Thrawn's troops and perhaps other forces, fending off the power of the dark side on that planet, and protecting a nomadic people that do not seem to be able to defend themselves.
    Ezra is going to be different. Whatever shred of innocence he had during Rebels is going to be gone by now. All these events are going to leave mental scars and wounds on him that he doesn't have the time to heal.
    We've seen a broken Sabine that has yet to heal her PTSD and Ahsoka who is only starting to mend hers. Those 2 had people and droids that have tried to help them. Ezra didn't have anyone. While I'm sure that he cares for the nomads, I highly doubt that he has opened up to them much. They probably haven't helped him deal with his mental trauma. Ezra here is probably darker than how we remembered in Rebels, but then again so is everyone else.
    As for the dog tags thing, I don't think he's flaunting them. Rather, there isn't much to come by on Peridea. He has to make the most of what he can get and maybe that's why Thrawn doesn't pursue him. Any Stormtrooper doesn't stand a chance against Ezra and once they're taken down, Ezra can just loot them for supplies. It would take a lot of troops to successfully bring down Ezra, more than Thrawn can afford to spare, and given that no one can reinforce them, every little bit of manpower is precious.

    I’ve always wondered why Ezra was in that stormtrooper suit in TWBWs, maybe that’s how Thrawns troops were thinner. Ezra threw on some armor and went agent 47 on em, and when they finally figured it out, he somehow escaped to there. He was much younger then in the episode, so it would have happened in his past at this point

    Because of Ezra's affinity and training in the Dark Side it is natural to look at him giving himself over to the Dark Side. It's actually possible for a time he was moving towards this direction, as Thrawn undoubtably pursued him once they arrived on Peridia. With Thrawn's troops and marauders looking to attack him at every turn, and nobody around to guide him anymore, he likely would have drawn on training he received from the Sith holocron, Maul and Kanan to survive. Yet, as you stated, he had learn to hate the Empire, accept his parents death and remembered what they had died for. Along with Kanan's sacrifice, it is all enough I believe for Ezra to push away any permanent pull to the Dark Side. It may be why he isn't feeling the same calling Baylan is.
    Ezra also doesn't seem to be "desperate" or fearful to leave, just really wanting his life to return to something closer to what it once was.
    Finally I agree with your point about Ezra protecting the Noti species.
    Based on his life experience, what he knows best is protecting others. He's naturally drawn to it, as were his parents. I believe Ezra sees this as a life venture for him to accomplish. Always helping others in need. As long as Ezra has this job to do, the Dark Side has no chance.

    I think Thrawn has had Ezra on his radar the whole time. Basically they have kept up with Ezra's location as they move the camp. And this is why Sabine could find him pretty easily. It is not like they had to go out and gather the data on where Ezra was. It was probably on one of their scouting reports.
    Thrawn as a practical man has calculated that it is a waste of his men to go after Ezra as he ain't going anywhere and neither is he. No point in poking the bear if you have nowhere to run and this goes both ways. Thrawn could crash Ezra's party, if he messes too much with his imperial troops. Sort of a cold war setting between the two sides.
    I don't think Ezra has been corrupted... Things are probably more straight forward than we like to believe. Those raiding parties that are around points to a civilization of sorts and this is still widely unexplored here. There is life on Peridea and there is probably some form of civilization there as well. I would like to see how the natives live there... Probably not going to happen with all of one episode of the season remaining. And it will likely end up with all or most of the protagonists and antagonists ending up back in the known galaxy...

    Honestly, I think Thrawn and Ezra agreed to part ways. He isn't going to waste soldiers on a rebel with no galaxy to defend. Better each man for himself. The armies numbers could have dwindled at what looks like a harsh environment with bandits everywhere, until Thrawn eventually discovered the Nightsisters. Him having a former tie to Elsbeth, they struck a deal.
