    Every decent person knows that bullying is wrong but imagine a world in which an idiot class demands everyone should be anti-bullying to the extent that anyone who refuses to actively shout that bullying is wrong should be bullied until they do. You don't have to imagine that world because it's being created around us.

      The term religious need to be defined cause that word mean different things for different people. I believe in God and I do believe the Jesus story teaches an Amazing story that reconciles Justice and Grace, but if someone asks me whether Jesus is a real person and resurrected and will come back and judge and rule....I say I don't know. I believe the person depicted in the written word is the ultimate example of good and perfection...a direct mirror of God as Flesh...i just don't think believing in the superstition aspect is what tranforms people. And I have seem people transformed by the Amazing Grace message...not from sinner to saint, but from burdened and caged to being set free.

    The "new" woke ideologies came about under the broader resurrection of the pagan religion of the past. The decline of the Christian culture, gave rise to this resurrection of the thousand years old pagan religion of old, however, in new packages. The decline in moral standards, the lost of respect for human lives, especially young and old, the worship of the earth and pantheism, the rise of violence, etc. All these marked the return of the West to its pre-Christian pagan world.
    Teaching the children something that is truth while sheltering them from falsehood is good. The problem is that Christianity is true, while woke paganism is not.

    Where I'm from, you could tell the creepy churches because they never held any kind of community events.
    There were no pancake suppers being held there the first Wednesday of every month. There were no rummage sales. You didn't go to potlucks there with your grandparents. They didn't host a carnival game at town festivals. They didn't give out candy on Halloween or hold Christmas events.
    None of the kids at your school attended church at these places. Or they were the kids whose parents didn't let him watch TV or some crazy shit.
    You could tell the indoctrination centers from what were more social than religious. You had your Sunday services, but you had social events the rest of the day and throughout the week. It's called a "congregation" because it's where you went to CONGREGATE.
    It just gives you a certain intuition and what red flags to look for. Maybe this why it hasn't yet hit the Midwest as badly as the coasts.

    I think having left a cult gives me a very different perspective on the Woke than the average person. I see a lot of Christians who don't like the Woke and I'm always surprised by their lack of self awareness that at one time they were the Woke. They have just been around longer.
    I can see myself in most these Woke people because I joined a cult wanting to save the world. I was young and idealistic. Easily manipulated and loved the feeling of being a part of something noble. I loved that feeling of being apart of some higher level knowledge about the true nature of reality. I was special. Everyone else just needed the courage like I had to do the right thing.

    Murray is wrong on one count: every marginalized group in the U.S. has improved its standing except children. Child abuse may or may not be less common today than 50 years ago (if we decided to study it we could find out), but even if it is, taking every speck of freedom away from children and severely restricting their play time has been catastrophic for them. While they’ve been going backwards, adults of every possible description have gained in self-determination, but because children are so invisible to adults, even someone as adept at unpacking social issues as Murray is able to believe ALL humans have improved their lot. Children’s lives are the only absurdity folks like Murray are unwilling to unpack.

    - good point to acknowledge that the general motives are well intended
    - it's a bit misleading to equate the trend of trying to erase/rewrite history with the philosophical concept of nihilism. I think that concept doesn't have anything to do with the kind of historical revisionism propagated by SJWs
    - th-cam.com/video/wChCmiyl8r8/w-d-xo.html -- yes the numbers improve massiveliy over the last century -- but they are still pretty horrible. Would like to see comparisons to Europe
    All in all a very balanced and rational criticism which does not neglect the humanity of the opponent
    especially since Mr Murray has the tendency to pontificate a lot which imho is very often contraproductive.

    Good video, but I don't understand why you moved away from Christianity. It is the fastest growing faith worldwide - even today - and it gives shape and meaning to everyone's life, even transforming it.
    Perhaps the Bible wasn't taught to you in a good way or maybe some elements of it were downplayed and it seemed hypocritical. Christianity is not a religion (not true Christianity - as opposed to the Anglican / Protestant church) it is about following Jesus, making a declaration that you will give your life to the Lord and to allow the Holy Spirit to come into your life to lead, guide and encourage you to become more like him.

    This video loses me when it starts off wrongly defining intersectionality. It doesn’t mean that the “most oppressed” has the most “access to truth.” It says that society has different ideas about different groups. Ie Society has different stereotypes about black women than black men, and different stereotypes for black women than for white women. Therefore, a white woman speaking on behalf of feminism should understand that patriarchy is experienced differently by transwomen and women of color than by themselves. It’s not saying one has more truth, it’s saying that the truth is their experiences are different. To my mind that is self-evidently true. There are things to criticize about the conclusions activists jump to from that starting point, but you can’t just make up an idea, ascribe it to someone else, and then use it to discredit them.
    It’s also pretty disingenuous to pretend that woke folks are nihilists. Many of them are part of explicitly religious movements. Even for people who are non-religious it is explicitly a moral movement. The main problem with it is not nihilism, it’s that they don’t view human society with enough relativism.

Saying it’s different to be a white trans woman than a black man, or a Latina, isn’t saying that any one has more access to truth. It’s just saying in the aggregate people are grouped and treated differently within those groups. It’s a point so self-evident and obvious that it’s embarrassing that there is a term for it. @@strangereyes9594 no, you seem to think that it’s arguing that people with more than one subgroup simply have one oppression than anyone else. That idea exists only in your head. In actuality it simply says that a black woman’s experience is different than a white woman’s or a black man. They don’t also have access to the full experience of being a white woman or a black man, or a white man for that matter. Intersectionality doesn’t say anything other than it’s different to be this than that so remember that when you decide to speak on behalf of all women or all black people or all lgbt.
      Do you also get angry that a French guy has more direct access to the truth of being a French person than you?

    • @joegibbskins
      @joegibbskins 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@strangereyes9594 the progressive stack is tangentially related to the idea of intersectionality and deals with the tendency of some groups to dominant the discussion. Ie a white woman might complain about women being treated like a child or being kept in a “glass cage” but none of that applies to black women and so when the voices of white women dominate the conversation on feminism, the voices of other women are drowned out. The progressive stack is an effort to subvert that, or rather invert it. I’m not sure how popular it actually is outside of certain corners of the internet, and it definitely has its faults, but it’s faults again have nothing to do with intersectionality and the idea that different identities intersect in ways that lead to different experiences.

    • @TagSpamCop
      @TagSpamCop 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      LOL. When unhinged lunatics insist "pAtRiArChY hUrTs MeN tOo!!" and don't realize their entire worldview is collapsed with that simple declaration, we can know they're unserious and not worth listening to. It's the same as "god is good and works in mysterious ways." Self-refuting. A simple observation around society as it is debunks this theory entirely. Where patriarchy _does_ exist is in Iran, in Saudi Arabia, in Pakistan, where women actually suffer from a lack of rights and agency, and not in the US, UK, Canada, etc, where women have the agency to make choices and exercise their equal rights (they technically have greater than equal rights, as in the US they have the right to full suffrage and citizenship by birth, _without_ signing away their bodily integrity for the draft, the right to call unwanted sex "rape", and the right to genital integrity -- men have none of these rights).
      RAINN has already said that rape culture does not exist in the west. That you fanatics keep this as an article of faith indicates how possessed and fundamentalist you are. Actually, that is incorrect. Rape culture does exist in the west - there are more men raped in the west than women. It occurs in prisons, so it's ignored and disregarded and even laughed at. That's the "normalization" of rape. On the other hand, falsely accused men can lose their livelihood, family or even their lives simply from the accusation. So, no, you don't get to pretend that "rape culture" is actually a thing, when it's not only demonstrably not, but the reverse is true, and even the merest whiff of an accusation can destroy a man's life. See also: Mattress Girl, who was found to have outright lied, and yet feminists still act like _her_ victim was the perpetrator.
      There is literally no way to determine that any of these contrived, self-refuting faith-based beliefs are false - they're simply asserted to be true based on scholarship that simply asserts it to be true, and it's turtles all the way down from there.
      The Pay Gap is a known myth.
      And "mainstream feminism" is a myth. The vast, vast majority of women do not subscribe to any form of feminism. And no, you don't get to insist that "if you believe in equality, you're a feminist" - you literally just rambled about unhinged, baseless crap like patriarchy theory and rape culture - by your own words, one has to subscribe to that mess to be a feminist. And most women do not, because they don't revel in victimhood or vague intangible, immaterial boogey monsters that are out to get them.

      I would argue it's a pretty accurate summarization by conclusion. Lazy, eh, maybe. It seems he wasn't interested in belaboring the point as it's been made in previous videos, but you can opine that it's laziness. The point remains true that the ideological perspective of intersectionality is that the closest persons to understanding "THE TRUTH" about oppression are those who face it on the highest number of variables and whether or not this is directly espoused, it is ALWAYS the practical consequence of intersectionality that the most oppressed person by this metric is given the most credibility and therefore the most sympathetic "space" for speaking about it and therefore the most clout. To pretend like intersectionality is not a hierarchy-forming principle is just being ridiculous at this point.

    • @EuropesNinja
      @EuropesNinja 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Douglemagne Nah, that's a skewed conclusion in my opinion. If you read academic and non academic intersectionalists who write about the intricacies of identity and intersectionality that it's not intrinsically an oppression olympics. While it may help to provide those who find themselves in positions of oppression are given a voice, it does not make value judgements based simply on the "number of intersections of oppression" a person experiences. Its about showing that oppression is dynamic and multifaceted by which no one human has one identity. We have multiple identities, some of which are chosen, many of which are not, and as a result someone may experience multiple types of oppression which coexist for multiple groups of people. That analysis is important as it's about power dynamics and the commonality of those doing the oppression. Many ""oppressors"", whether it bit racism, sexism, etc, also intersect based on the oppressing they engage in. Many hard racists are often sexist/homophobic, etc.
