- After breaking into Paris Fashion Week and protesting the Iditarod dogsledding race, PETA once again finds themselves in the news. I wanted to take a look at how PETA promotes themselves to everyone else, how they advertise, what they try to accomplish with their absolutely insane social media presence. But I also address what the group believes, how they were founded, and if their negative reputation is deserved or not.

What's the nature of the allegation as to WHY Peta shelters are more pro-kill than other ones? As you mentioned, their defense is that they just have more difficult animals in their shelters, and obviously people like to focus on their high kill rate as a way of mocking them for being hypocrites, but from people like the woman who testified, do they offer any specific claim as to WHY Peta would be so enthusiastic about the "need to kill"?
I think it gets down to the ideology that’s exists in the organization that a lot of the members of PETA feel that there is rampant overpopulation, and that death is preferable to the current status quo. One of the quotes I didn’t include was their founder discussing that outdoor cats are better off being euthanized, because they could die from other factors in the wild. There seemed to be a culture of making sure that everyone was on board with this perspective per their former employees, though taking into account they may have had motivations to provide that information.
@@myfriendscallmepat it’s weird because taken to its logical conclusion, that line of thinking should imply that it’s okay to eat meat because surely killing animals is preferable to them living miserable lives in a factory farm.
Yeahh I think within the group there are beliefs that aren’t entirely coherent with each other. But when you have a culture meant to prioritize one dominant train of thought, you don’t have room for those types of discussions
They only live miserable lives on factory farms because of the demand for meat.
They have attacked other shelters who kill animals because these animals aren’t adopted but shelters have limited resources...
Was super surprised when I looked at the views and saw it was only 400. Your video is great man keep up the work
Thanks boss, appreciate it! I upload 1-2 times per week, glad to have you here.
Peta also ran an ad comparing artificial insemination to r*pe. they had survivors of SA and r*pe vividly describe their assault before ending it with something like "this is how cows feel". It was a 2 minute video, the most despicable ad they've done imo
animals cannot consent, fuck PETA but forcibly impregnating an animal IS rape. SA survivors would agree, it's fucked up. using clips of SA survivors without their consent is wrong. so is forcibly impregnating cows
Are they really wrong though?
@@pivomanslovensko Yes
@pivomanslovensko objectively yes.
Realistically veganism would destroy the entire world if everyone went on a vegan only diet. With that being said, our current consumption of meat is way too much in America and there needs to be a balance of diets. Veganism is definitely a healthy diet but not for all. Likewise, there are benefits for a high protein diet but for the average person it would not be beneficial.
You probably should not trust the pets website about how much good they do. It has been found out by multiple independent sources that they overestimate their impact and do count their more controversial act like euthanizing healthy animals as animal help. Also there are multiple instances of PETA euthanizing pets at their clinics they sponsored. It is why most pet owners try to avoid them.
Why would it destroy the planet?
@@pandemicphilly60 unstable water footprint, it would lead to the over population of other species, extreme single species breeding would accelerate, etc. Like I said in my comment, veganism is a good diet but forcing everyone to consume the same diet leads to monoculture food supply that is not stable. You will have similar problems with an all meat diet too. A mix of diet promotes food diversity which decreases the chances of over production of one food source. However, I would view a dietary system for most Americans with less meat and with the meats they do it to come from a variety of sources than just cow, chicken, and pig. Basically all things need to be balanced or you can throw off mother nature's careful plan.
I'm 100% with PETA on not referring to ourselves as "owners." I'm my dog's and cats' human because you shouldn't be able to own a sentient being. That being said I wish PETA was more focused on outlawing factory farming, puppy mills, and other abusive systems.
My only experience with peta was when i was like 13, a child. And we were walking around are closest city and a group of vegan protesters, (who all happened to be wearing guy faux masks), get all up in my face asking me “do you eat meat?! Are you an animal killer?!” Remember IM 13. Of course im freaking out and my dad has to step in to stop these people from scarring me even more.
Is that a french revolutionary calender I see in the background?! 🤩 I love the names of the months in it!
Yes it is, I haven’t changed the month yet 😳 don’t judge me
I just found you and I think if you keep it up you’ll get a good following going this is great
Thanks friend :) glad to have you here. 1-2 new videos every week!
Dude these videos are awesome! You're super underrated, keep up the good work dude!!
That’s kind of you to say, thank you and will do :)
This is a great video, man! Would love to see more in this style if you’re interested in doing it!
I like mixing in more research based stuff like this in addition with pop culture/ current events and review type videos. Brings me back to 11th grade English class but in a fun way
I've never heard about MEATA and that sounds like it could be its own video. Thanks for continuing to go deeper on topics and for not going the "mm steak" route, because that has been the stock lazy response since the 90s at LEAST, and you're right, it's so smug and dickish.
I remember at one point my sister suggested the Ikidarod as an ethical alternative to the Iditarod, with the idea being you replace the dogs with toddlers. She was 12, we were kidding, and yet here we are.
I talked to one PETA member on the street and he might assume that I eat dogs...coz I'm from China 😂
Yikesss

"sometimes"
If you think PETA should do a better job protecting animals from exploitation, I recommend the documentary "Dominion," narrated by Joaquin Phoenix!
Yooooo Rochester?? WNY represent 🙌🏼
Awesome video! Love your animal companion, too lol
Vegan leather isn't even better for the environment, because most of it is mainly made of plastic and petroleum, meaning they are less durable (they tend to start "melting" within about 2 years) and they are worse for the environment because it contributes to plastic pollution. There are some other ways to make vegan leather, but those ara lot pricier than even real leather, so you won't see them for sale very often, and if the price is not absurd you can bet your a** the vegan leather you're saying is not one of the environmentally friendly ones.
The real problem with leather is, like everything else in this capitalist hell whole we live in, over consumption. Because a real leather item is made to last for over 10 years, but if you need to follow the fashion trends you are not someone to keep using the same thing for 10 years, and so you will buy another of the same leather item but in a different style, and another, and another, and another, and so it goes. But if you are someone that does use your stuff for years and years, leather is a good choice, because the amount of leather that you will use will come from the animals that are already culled to be eaten.
Yeah I think their decisions to protest fashion week was interesting for this reason. I think PETA is more concerned with stopping any forms of animal products categorically no matter what, even if as you say there are some concerns with the actual logic behind that.
New commentary channel? Yooo. Question tho are you lbgtq friendly before i sub
I am very gay, yes.
@@myfriendscallmepat lmfao based.

Yeppp tons of absolutely bonkers statements across an entire career
I est vegan as long as i can find enough variety for a good price. In my store there are pea protein burgers that are perfect and low priced. Pea protein have one off the lowest impsct on the Environment.
Could such an organization not focus on creating or supporting the making off such alternatives without the fancy vegan rip off products as low cost as the low cost meat? If you care animals there are so many other more intelligent ways to go about shit, kinda sad to see.
I wish more vegan products were low cost and didnt treat the costumer as a money machine. Equally as pets treat meat eaters as dumbfucks. Btw yeah the mest industry is fucked but conparing it to slsvery and the Holocaust is ye, why. You dont even need any comparison, just show the facts. Its just trying way too hard.
Btw i dont understand the euthanizing of animals in their shelter, what is the ideology behind that?
Grest video!
They clearly don’t actually care about animals, they just want attention and to look like heros...
