Every time I watch one of your vlogs, I want to pack up here in Palm Beach county and move over there! So many nice trails. I will be over there in March, doing the Clean Air Ride on the Withlacoochee Rail Trail.
The Florida Cross Barge Canal has intrigued me since I read about it in the 80s. Now with Google Earth/Maps it is so easy to locate and follow. From what I remember it was president Nixion that stop the building of it. The state was still paying for maintenance on it till 1992. I have heard stories about the concrete locks that were built in the wooded areas east of Ocala. Never got a chance to find out if it was true or not.
There is an abandoned lock and dam in Eureka. I got some footage of it on my ride with my friend Wayne when we rode from Ocala to the beach. You can see some shots of it from that video.
So much fun! That sunset was amazing!
That’s the perfect sunset ride . Next time we will park at the ranger station lot

Yea, my wife is never surprised when I end up with these problems. I am always doing something to keep her on her toes.
