You could put a toothpick under the rubber band that's around the wheel before you go to launch it and put the toothpick pressed up against one of the slots you cut and when read to let it go pull the toothpick out.

Fun build, did you edit out attempts at hitting the camera or was that all of them? Because i suspected that was going to be a B to accomplish lol. Looked like you really figured that thing out though, at moments it looked like it had a mind of it's own

That was almost all the attempts, just a couple that went straight off camera were edited out. Winding it up took a fair bit of time as it was a bit awkward. A bigger cup would have been easier.
