The part where you kept bonking your head at the top of the world boarder is actually the boss arena
Interesting! Good to know it actually is accessible afterall. A tad disappointing but also exciting
Being able to look down at the center was absolutely amazing on Ase I wonder how it is in ascended.(the center was one of my favorites)
My issues with the new Center:
- Caves are smaller and some spaces have been removed, such as the interior of skull island; now it´s just a random rock.
- Atmosphere and ambience are gone, the distinct weathers and illumination the center used to have aren´t here anymore, it lacks soul.
- The vibrant color palette from the hills and the floating island has been replaced with plain white, resulting in everything looking samey.
- Lava island has been torn apart, other than the occasional lava pool it no longer looks as imposing as it used to (seriously why would we have entire jungles next to rivers of molten lava?)
- Redwoods are now filled with sand for some reason.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! Especially the south actually, I did notice that things overall felt quite silent but I chalked that up to cheat-flight shenanigans. And a sandy redwoods is... odd lol

Agree with colors and ambience being gone. It's what made the Center what it was.
Personally I really liked the center. Theres alot of different biomes, the air bubbles under the water that allow you to build under water, the underground lake and the ice castle at the norther part of the map. I also would do this with fliers, as the floating island can only be reached with fliers. One map I'm really looking forward to is Ragnarock. That area with the gorilla statues beyond the border is the boss arena BTW.
Ahh yes I am SO excited for Ragnarok, that's been an irreplaceable one for me (I guess my equivalent of how people view The Center?)
I'm genuinely really excited to experience the Center up close and personal, especially as there's so much I've definitely missed
Honestly, that glitched throbbing lighting in the abyssal area made it creepier for me
It made it feel wrong and unnatural in a way that didn't break immersion. It felt like you weren't supposed to be there in a good way
no idea how it would play but goddamn all the caves and crevices and shafts and stuff are just so bloody gorgeous with the vegetation, terrain depth and crisp lighting
I remember when the center first came out gigas was spawning everywhere!! even on the small islands 🤣🤣🤣 the whole server was dialing 911 😭😭😭 man those were the times
I know it's not super popular but I honestly really dig the new lava biome. The lushness gives a nice contrast instead of just obsidian and basalt everywhere.
Also, something I noticed in my own flying around is that there is a TON of metal under water. I'm talking nearly Aberration Blue Zones level of metal. The Dunkle is going to have a field day on this map.
I never really liked the magma area in ASE Center, but man they gave it some love in the makeover it looks gorgeous and feels more lively with the jungle and glowing plants mixed with the ambience of the lava around you, they did a great job on this map return, hopefully they release Ragnarok before Abberation, was my all time favorite and spent a majority of my play on that map, there was just so much to explore due to the unique size it had over all the other maps at the time, can't wait to see what's next all that's left is the bug fixes but no game is perfect in that regard in my opinion I can wait for the patches when they can get to it
Never saw a comment on it but I was glossing over so sorry if someone did but they actually did completely ruin the boss arena now it’s a huge stone circle with water but before it was a huge Japanese looking village you could run around full of Sakura trees and everything
There were tons of cheese spots sadly so that’s probably why they removed it but it doesn’t mean I like it because the other one was so cool
I don’t remember the old arena well tho because I didn’t play the center tooo much so this is from memory on the time I did a run of the center like in 2020 so if I got something wrong like how it looked sorry
The cave you explored on Lava Island was a part of ASE as well. It just didn’t have water or foliage of any kind in it. They killed my favorite part of the map.
I only played the map briefly in ASE because on console it looked really horrendous. The design is interesting as a variation of the Island, however I think it has too much verticality between all the hidden caves , steep cliffs and very deep waters... which would be fine if exploration in Ark was rewarding (PvE). In fact, I was always a bit surprised that nobody ever modded the missing PvE elements with events, mini boss. Encounters and loot linked to focal point areas of maps for exploration. I'm hoping Primal plus might get to scratch that itch from what I glimpsed in their trailer.
More than half of my ark playtime was on the center (when it didn't even have the redwood biome) so I already really liked the map in ASE. But I also played on servers without flyers and with (casual) PvP so maybe thats why I liked the map so much
I've come around a few bugs like water shader not working in certain bodies of water, unable to place structures down in locations, dinosaurs falling through mesh when entering cave and leaving them unattended for a moment, and trees that don't cut down just past right through.
I also feel like the map is too big for a single player like me. It seems like it was designed for multiple players.

The ocean on The Center has always been terrifying. Especially on the far western side of the map.
i think i tamed my first giga on the center! i always liked the fireflies at night too.
I personally love the deep ocean on the east side of the map, I just wish there was actually stuff there. The only thing I see there is metal, and while I’m one of like 6 people who actually use dunkleosteus (seriously they are ridiculous for gathering, 50% weight reduction on metal, black pearls, stone, crystal and then a 75% reduction on oil and they’re tanky as hell due to natural armor or damage reduction I can’t remember) I know most people would say they’re too slow and there’s plenty of metal on land but on land is where annoying things like mircoraptors, pegos, and other players either also gathering metal or in PvP trying to murder you are. Underwater on a dunkle with some scuba and maybe a couple megs as a escort can be kinda relaxing, and you don’t really need the fishy escort unless you get jumped by like 16 megs, which is actually surprisingly plausible on Center, the dunkle is strong enough to defend itself. A dunkle actually has the same base damage as a rex which I didn’t know until recently, I just knew they hit like a truck 😅.
Damn that was quite the detour but yeah, deep ocean. A couple caves for bases or especially a couple more of those underwater air bubbles would’ve great. Some actual spawns for xiphact and tusos and jellyfish to light up the darkness would’ve been really atmospheric, one moment your friend is on the defender meg and next they’re gone in a trail of bubbles made by a very hungry tuna….. ya know, if the lightning wasn’t super bugged 🤣. Maybe it’s just me but after like 3 feet deeper from the shelf area the water effect just stops and feels like you’re swimming in air, sound effects are still there (I think, it was pretty late when I checked it out 😅) but the visual was both funny and atmosphere killing

I thought it looked amazing but the more I played the more issues I found, the greyscale waterfall that dismounts anyone near it needs to be fixed and nothing is spawning underground either.
so far the map looks amazing but looks like the map when you open it has shrunken compared to the old map maybe they plan to release more of the map? It would be weird to have nice detail land masses in the distance beyond the current world boarder.

For some reason every time i try to enter The Center it crashes,when i enter The Island and Scorched It works normally,but from the videos i saw so far The Center looks really good.

Personally, I feel the center is like an island but much bigger, I don't find new textures that make me feel amazed or that invite me to play on the map, the worst of all is that they repeat the ISLAND bosses, again the monkey and the spider, They didn't even add a unique SKIN as a reward that influences the desire to finish the map, in short I'm too lazy to start from 0 on a map that doesn't give me anything new apart from the 2 creatures. 🙁
Additionally, the Shasta mount cannot be detached and causes a lot of MESH. I would very much like them to implement a new mount without the submarine, which only allows us to mount the Shasta.
Heyy how can you report bugs with the evo rex and giga??? Cause i have tried restarting my saves and dino wiping several times and they still wont spawn naturally :/
Do you have another mod that could be blocking the spawns? I know that I can’t have the Ark Additions acro on at the same time as Paleo because for some reason the acro blocks charcha and giga spawns even tho they don’t spawn in the same regions.
Its not the spawns themselves it keeps spawing the vanilla rex no matter if i reset my saves or wipe, and it even shows the evo saddles and lets me convert the vanilla rexes but the evo's just wont spawn
@@dylanbeard7545 my best guess is another mod is overwriting the Paleo spawn coding but if you’ve whittled it down to just the Paleo mod and it still isn’t working then I have no more answers for you.

I hate that they took all the magic out of it like the giant glowing crystals lava island is a jungle now and all the rock are the same color my fav part of the map looks basic af it used to have nice sleek black rocks and color now the whole map is the same color pallete
The map is cool and fun to build on in pve however… it is insanely annoying to travel through like it’s such a big map while also forcing you to navigate through confusing terrain like it was hard to get my bearing on this map if I wasn’t flying something.

Scorched had the same frequent storm issue on release tbh they had to patch it
True that, though I didn't mind it so much because it at least wasn't overloading my senses. Aaannndddd sandstorms were bugged and didn't drain stamina, so it felt more like a visual environmental bonus. I hate that they fixed that wonderful bug 😂
I have never ever played The Center. I think the lava island has lost it charm to it. Every rock looks like the same. Especially in the redwoods. The mossy rocks are gone, and got replaced with those The Island rocks.
In my opinion the different maps shouldn't feel like The Island, but I'm sad to admit that this one gives me huge The Island vibes. I hope they don't do us dirty on Ragnarok. There's so much charm on that map that i hope they will keep.
NEXT! The boss arena got a huge downgrade imo. The only thing i LOVED with The Center was the actual boss arena. It was different. Now its just weird.
Just my overall thoughts. It is beautiful tho, but it lost its charm. Especially boss arena and lava island.

not cohesive in ase imo. I think they've done a better job now and its really the only map aquatic tames feel well integrated.

Sorry but the resources needed for c4 and other things are way too spread out for flying a argy for 30 mins. Getting boring without maewings to zip around but I bet asa would lag to death on a maewing.
