I feel like the molding of the clay to enclose the fish in really took this to the next level. Absolutely creative and brilliant use of the earth to make food!

@@taliaomg6014 no it wouldn't if you are using regular clay. Any bacteria would be killed during the baking. If the clay is toxic via contaminations even paper wouldn't help keep the meat safe. The chemical reaction would turn it to gas and it would still seep in.

Cooking with clay like this is a highly underrated technique. Unlike normal baking or roasting, the food inside stays perfectly plump and moist, because the fire/heat is drawing out the water in the clay instead of the food.
Plus, it’s great for serving at dinner because someone gets to crack it open with a spoon. Try making little designs on the clay, too.
