This was great. I happened to catch it on Prime Day and when I saw the IP67 enclosure I had to have one. The Prime price was only a few dollars savings but it's better than list price. I don't have a project in mind for the box but you never know. Thanks for another well done video! They are appreciated.
Glad you found it helpful. As I mentioned, I had no idea which if any items might be discounted. But I thought it might be handy if folks were looking for specific components or ideas. That enclosure has worked well for my one and only outdoor project. I have a list of items, including that new Aqara SP2, that I'm anxious to take a look at... but other projects in the pipeline first. I appreciate the kind words... and I was trying to put this together at the same time we were trying to resolve your Arduino issue (well... technically it was MY issue) with the clock sketch. But I'm happy that we seem to have gotten that resolved... and I was able to release this video on my planned schedule as well!

Thanks... and I truly appreciate the acknowledgement of the amount of time involved in trying to make a decent video. Although I work completely alone on these (I sure don't have a "team" or anything), I'm still a bit slow because most segments have to be recorded 3, 4 or more times because I tend to get tongue-tied a lot, so it have to shoot multiple takes to get the wording even close to correct (and sometimes I still don't!). Then the editing, writing the descriptions, trying to photograph and create a semi-decent thumbnail, etc. And if there is a related blog or Github repo, that has to be created or updated as well. For this < 12 minute video, it probably took me a total of 14-16 hours of actual time over 2 days. Project videos take much longer! So, I do greatly appreciate the recognition of the amount of time that goes into making a video. Thanks for the comment!
I actually Used the 8265 you recommended in your IR AC Upgrade in my own home! I haven't tester the transmitter range, since my apartment is too small to get more than about 12 feet away from the units 😅 I'm still new to 3d Modeling, but I managed to make a pretty acceptable case for that ESP8265 device that's coming to thingiverse after a little bit of cleanup and writing a build guide with some of the tricks I learned getting the signals for my devices that don't have esphome climate integration support
I still haven't tried using the actual board with both the transmitter and receiver and the onboard 8265, but I'm glad you got it to work. In my case, I didn't have a need for a receiver (just the transmitter), so I added that to my collection of parts that "someday I'll find the perfect project for it". I'll look forward to seeing you information on that board and how you learned the IR signals.
Many, many years ago early in my career I was a chemist... first analytical, then a polymer/resin chemist. But the last 20+ years or so of my career were in IT. "Resinchem" was an online handle I started using way back in the mid-90's. Resinchem Tech was just a name I picked when I first created the channel, thinking initially it was going to be just for family and friends. In all honesty, if I had known that the channel was going to grow like it has, I would have picked something else... as 'Resinchem' has absolutely nothing to do with smart home tech!
While most of my audience is US-based, I do often forget about international viewers, so thanks for the reminder. Just as an alternative, the cutting mat that all these components are placed on for filming have standard 1" (or approximately 2.5 cm) squares, so those can be used as a scale reference as well.

There are not many common household things that works globally for scale. CDs, AA battery, USB-A, credit cards.
