My mother tried everything to help thicken her hair. Nothing ever did. I guess it gave her hope and nothing else, but at a cost. Illness took away her thick hair and nothing was going to change it back.
Your hair may be fine but does not look thin. It is lovely.
I trimmed my grandaughter's hair recently. I will try your technique next time she wants me to do it.

Your hair looks wonderful with it being more one length. Immediately looks thicker. I also have thin, fine hair; always have. I find if I don't do layers and keep it to one length it looks better. I have a one length bob . The longest I let it get is just touching my shoulders. I don't do the sides longer than the back either. I am glad you except your hair type the way it is. I had to do that too. I have starting using collagen daily as well that is good the hair, nails and joints.

Sarah, I've been watching another youtuber and she has very thin hair! She has tried everything and so many hair products to help thicken her hair and it hasn't helped! I always wanted to comment and tell her to cut it and it would help with some volume but of course I don't! I think you did a great job on your hair and it does look thicker at that length! I have just the opposite problem than you and I have to wear my hair longer so it doesn't look so bulky! Guess we always want what we can't have! lol Happy New Year!

Beautiful, timeless cut :). I also have fine hair and use the Voloom rootie to add some thickness to my roots. Wash, use a bit of mouse, dry, Rootie. Game changer❤. A shorter length is great too because there's less hair to weigh you down. Beautiful!!

I know a number of ladies that are experiencing thinning hair. There are things that contribute to the thinning and two of the biggest factors are the shampoo you use and hair color. I stopped using bottled shampoo and now use shampoo bars, I like Nuvella and it seems they always have a deal on combinations, or just get the shampoo bars.
I stopped coloring my hair about 2 1/2 years ago and my hair feels so much healthier, it is soft and silky versus feeling like straw when I used to color it with the harsh chemicals that break open the hair follicles to get the color in.
Diet, nutrition and exercise are important for healthy hair, I avoid sugar and excess carbs. I take vitamins and supplements, plus diatomaceous earth each morning. The selenium is great for your bones, hair, skin and nails. I have noticed my nails are stronger and my hair is growing faster. I go to the gym 3 days a week and that improves blood flow as well as bone density.
I have my husband trim my hair about every 8-10 weeks. He is detailed in his process of caping me, combing out my hair, sectioning my hair, pinning it up and letting it down in increments to trim each layer to match the guide below. The lower layers need to be trimmed to remove breakage otherwise it travels up the shaft and get shorter, making your hair thinner.
I have been having my husband trim my hair from shortly after we first met, and I notice that my hair is much fuller, plus it has gotten longer, to my elbows as the amount my hair grows is less than he trims off the ends. I wash my hair once a week in the shower, my husband does it for me and massages my scalp, and applies a leave in conditioner. When it is cold weather, he will blow dry it for me to remove the excess moisture. During the winter time, I will wear my hair down more often, but usually I wear my hair braided. Hubby does French, Dutch, fishtail and variations of these braids. Even if I wear my hair down, I have him braid it before bed. I get compliments on my hair and get asked how I take care of it. Two of my close friends have my husband trim their hair for them, because they like mine, know that he won’t get scissor happy and cut their hair too short, plus they like getting free trims. So there are things you can do to get fuller, healthier hair and definitely avoid the hair color and the bottle shampoos with commercial degreasers.

@@Carolyn-rz8dl first of all, what’s a response! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your methods and successes! I’m definitely taking note on this! I have taken selenium for years, but I for sure am going to do the shampoo bar and more instant trims. I love so much how your husband helps daisy you with your hair 🥹 the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard!! Thank you again for your beautiful comment and helpful tips! ❤️

You are welcome. I am also into growing and harvesting herbs and plants for their medicinal benefits. We have an organic garden and we believe that the less toxic chemicals that we put in and on our bodies, the better off we are. I read ingredients on products and we avoid high fructose corn syrup, soy bean and other seed oils, plus cook with single ingredients. My husband has thick, silver hair, which is also a good indicator or overall health. I am his barber, so we take care of each other. I think you will see a big difference using the shampoo bars, as they don’t strip your hair of the natural oils. And I think that at a certain point, you will embrace your silver strands, as abstaining from putting the toxic chemicals on your hair will stop the damage that using them has caused. My husband loves my hair long as much as I do. Believe it or not, my hair is now about 8” longer than I have ever had it grow. So as long as he pampers me taking care of my hair, I definitely will not ask him to chop off any of the length.

I have the opposite “problem” (honestly a first world problem at that). My hair is very thick and heavy. I need to have it cut in layers and thinned often in order not to have a what I call a hair blanket. This means cuts more often and I’ve only found one person who I trust to cut it. I realize this is like a slender person complaining about not being able to gain weight to someone who struggles with keeping pounds off. It is best to work with whatever God gave us - it’s makes us unique and wonderful in our own way. As for supplements and ways to make hair grow in thicker, I’m at a loss although as a side note, we raise a specific breed of registered cattle and sell them as breeding stock. It is desirable to have your cattle with a thick coat of hair -this enables us to clip the animal to look their best in the show ring. One technique that we use is to air condition the barns to prevent the animals from shedding in the hot weather. We live in a cold climate so maybe I need to turn the heat up and you need to turn yours down 😂. Also, you are brave and your haircut looks cute on you.
