Thought I'd share a very basic idea on PC. Recently saw DR Disrespect and Shroud being spam told to "wallbounce, unbind roll" etc Cancel the roll, pop shot, and been given bad advice / too much advice. The key idea in the 20 minute video is Land shots, Generally 2 shots = down, Learn to tank to get in 1 shot range or Push fast to one shot. Next get simple fluid down by eliminating simple errors like rolling / climbing by accident THEN work on more advange things.
honestly I just bought this game never played gears in my life and it was hard to find a video with tips from a pc player. Thank you so much after 1 game the movement feels so much smoother since I changed my evade key from the default.

I’ve played Gears since the first game but I just got it on PC and just as I imagined it’s insanely fun playing with mouse/keyboard. Right off the bat I found that wall bouncing using the mouse rather than canceling keys is my preferred method, it’s much easier for me

Broo.. you just opened my mind about rebinding the evade button. I was having a hard time trying to wall bouncing without rolling. That'll definitely help me even though Im not so good at the game

thanks, you gave me an idea, Roadie run - shift, Evade - left CTRL , take cover / mantle - space bar. and take cover / mantle - mouse wheel up/ mouse wheel down. Good vid :)
very well explained video. good job. The back roll is very strong. If done well, you can get your shot off and create enough distance to take less damage, if your timing is right. I also think that you can more accurately put your character where you want him when wall cover swapping on controller, but other than that yeah the wall bounce cancelling is hardly different than strafing left and right when you're doing it so fast.
Thanks for the tips, new to gears but learning movement in games is my strong suit. Gears movement is a pleasure to learn and get better at. I personally moved roadie to to one of my Mouse thumb buttons, I’m not too sure why they had space bar controlling everything as default. Once I slowed down with my inputs and took some time to plan my pathways the movement came a lot more easier
just wanted to let everyone know that as a console player and a pc player know that the movement is better on console. it's hard to believe but I don't see anyone hyper bouncing on pc
@@DiscipleOfYahusha Aim to the right of the person when close. Bullets come from your gun and go towards your crosshair, so you want to have them between your gun barrel and where you're aiming.
Leaves you vulnerable if used poorly. Rolling infront of the enemy will -mostly- grant an experienced player with a kill. Backwards rolling can be useful if you done enough damage first so they can't rush you, but they can roll back too and hide in cover.
you don't seem like a bad player but your explanations could use a more robust lexicon and the video title should be changed to show that this is for beginners. Wish you the best!

Fun fact: if you're using PC, you can turn off rolling by pressing U, on the keyboard.
for some reason i cant bind left ctrl to roll. ive tried to switch it to left ctrl from left shift but cant for some reason

Did you ever try Scroll to take cover? Did you stay with that? what did you think of that key bind?
I did, scroll wheel up and down for bounce is better and faster response, I just have to much muscle memory to change over! haha
I can't put evade for L cntrl, I disabled the push to talk :(. It won't let me put it there like yours why not?

is it possible to crouch in this game when youre not by cover? whenever i press x (onkb) nothing happens im using default controls
No it's not. You can run, roll, stand, bounce. If you aren't interacting with cover you can't crouch
