I hope that you guys find this helpful. I really think that these types of topics are important to talk about and be open about. I hope that any of you that are going through any of these things find this video useful 💕
Kirsty Partridge Art yes it's really important to talk about things like that because many artists also think that they're alone with those thoughts! So a big thank you to you and your content! You're not just talking about how to improve your art, you're also talking about how to improve the way you're thinking about your art! I really love your channel❤
*Hey Bokkei,* I came here from DeMoose Art Would you like to do a colab with me ? Do reply your response, and I'll be happy to know your decision whatever it might be. If yes I'll provide my E.mail address. :)
This is an amazing video (as usual ). It really is important to talk about these things and understand that we are all on our own journey, improving at every step android learn to accept our art and not to compare ourselves too much. Your artwork looks great in this video.. if you see this where did you find the reference image? I LOVE your channel ❤️❤️
Well I've been a lot of time very demotivated to draw because I've seen so many other artists drawing so much better than me but right now I'm on the right way to like me and my artworks themself more. I've always been thinking: oh that's not good! This and that just looks ugly. But it gets better. So shoutout to every artist out there: don't stop drawing!
You are so right ,i am going through all of these and I am scared of failing .I keep comparing myself to others and it drives me insane .I see younger people achieving much more and I lose confidence .Its very hard at one point when you are trying to improve and you don’t know how .I spend a fortune on art supplies but I’m still not happy ,especially with my portaits ,i keep trying to draw skin but i realise i don’t have enough colors (i have the 48 set prismas and 36 faber castells ) and here comes another slump cause I have no idea how to make it better .Its so hard spending hours and not feeling happy with my artwork ,I’m still trying to find a way 😅Your tips are very helpful ,i watched so many of your videos and learned a lot .
I went through all of things..:/ all of them suck butt, I'm still a perfectionist which is NEARLY impossible for me to shake off I can barely finish a piece, just sketch sketch blegh.. But this video was so nice to listen to! Thank you for sharing these lovely tips.
ashy Behnke I think I struggle the most with perfectionism too, I have got better with it over the years. It indeed is something that is very difficult to stop doing, I hope one day you can somewhat shake it off and allow yourself to complete a piece. 😊💕
I definitely suffer from lack of inspiration and motivation from time to time, but then i get these days where I have lots of ideas and creativity. (Beautiful red panda btw ❤)
I've been having a bad couple of months since October, the month that made me understand people just didn't really care much. I don't mean to undervalue myself, but when you upload something and absolutely nobody likes it it just makes you feel depressed. I'm not a beginner, I've been at it for many years, but I just don't know what people want from me. I'm struggling to be happy, yet I love art. I got my bachelor's in it, I got an HND for it in another course too, and yet I feel like I'm at the end of my career already, the end of my life with nothing else to try to achieve. 13 years I've been trying, but whatever it's not like I'm going to be seen anyway because youtube favours top comments over new ones. It's hard when there's no communication between you and other artists who might know what to do and how to help such a thought, I don't even have any friends I can talk about it with or go out and visit to relieve stress. I'm alone.
I hear you loud and clear! I also am friendless and haven't picked up a pencil or brush in over 8 years due to feeling inadequate. I'm thinking about joining an artist Facebook group in the mediums I always worked in and styles I'm interested in. Could post work and get advice from others or just get some new insights. ((hugs)) 💪🏼🤓 Gotta keep pushing forward.
Apathy is the worst. Praise is okay, and even the harshest criticism doesn't come close to how hard I am on myself, but when nobody comments, nobody cares, that really sucks.
That's why we need to do things that make US happy. Many artist only create for themselves and their loving ones. And if they decide to share their art with the world, they must be aware that they need a thicker skin. I've decided to do it for myself and that make ME happy and content.
I've been a professional artist on and off since 1984. I couldn't agree with the sentiment of this video more. Perfectionism is a curse or a tool, it's your choice. I've been both its master AND victim over the years. Thank you so much for this channel. I've learned so much from you. And this leads me to a small tip of my own. Learn from everybody. Don't think you can't learn from younger, less experienced artists. You most certainly can. Whoever you are, may your creativity take you where you want to go and far beyond.
Kirsty this speaks so munch to me, I'm so glad i found you on TH-cam. Your such an inspiration to me. I'm a new beginner artist myself. I too, always look at other people artwork and feel bad because i don't think i can be as good as them or i won't be good as them. But i always got to keep on trying and just remember, That they too had to work hard and fail a lot of the times to where they are today. You always cheer me up after i watch these types of videos, I will always strive to improve on my artwork and to keep on going with it. Thank you so munch Kirsty.
This is so important to talk about! Thank you so much for touching this topic. I have given up art for more than ten years now and am slowly returning to it.
Kirsty Partridge Art thank you❤️, your art has inspired a few of my ideas, however I haven't done them because of my lack of motivation, nevertheless I will start them and hopefully finish them soon 😄 again, thank you for giving me inspiration and also thanks for talking about this topic ❤️❤️
I can honestly say I never feel jealous of other visual artists. I'm always just so happy for them and simply love what they create from nothing at all. I am mostly just in aw at how out of thin air certain humans have this mysterious wonderful ability to create, just like our Creator. Also I feel like looking at their work and watching them process through it encourages me to do better. It makes it so fun for me. I learn soooooo much just by watching them create. Then when there are artists like you who share all of their tips and tricks and actually teach us things, I'm just beside myself with joy. However, my pitfalls--like many--are terrible health issues, family problems and demands, schedules, finances, and so on. Sometimes perfectionism can be a problem but not so much as the others.
I mostly wanted to say your painting of the bear was gorgeous! I just loved seeing the order you took in painting it. I really enjoyed watching you apply mixed media to your work. Before I started watching TH-cam videos on the subject matter, I never would have thought to do it. Lol. Goofy, huh? The visual arts community is really something special on TH-cam. That was many years ago now, but watching others mix and match different mediums is always so exciting to me. If I may though, perhaps the video topic would have been a bit more relatable with your viewers if you would have shared your own pitfalls or things that discourage you and the measures you take to overcome them as you did in the comments below. I don't think you did anything wrong, lol, and it was so incredibly sweet of you to reach out to try to help others in this way. It simply makes you feel more relatable when you offer a bit of vulnerability since your art really is so very impressively beautiful.
i struggle with depression on and off and it effects my motivation to produce work and my ability to think of things to draw/paint. so i absolutely loved the idea to learn something new on those days of struggle. thank you
God Bless you for bringing out those points, I had been trying to get back into painting and the standards I was holding myself to, coming up with the perfect piece, doing it to the same level I had pictured in my mind. There are a LOT of ups and downs in this and the biggest part is identifying them and addressing them.
I think social media has put pressure on present artists that artists in the past just didn’t have, we need to remember that we do this for the love of art, just create and enjoy!, thanks for a lovely video Kristy😊
You are so amazing kirsty! Everything you said are beyond true 😅 I like how you point out all the problems so precisely and give advices to motivate artists who are feeling down with their artworks. Thanks for this 💜😁
Your comments are so insightful, and you hit my current state dead on. I have been learning to paint through reference books and TH-cam videos for just over a year now and had hit a wall. Of course, the problem with this approach to learning is lack of feedback from instructors like you would get in a classroom setting. That said, I have been fortunate to have made some very kind friends online who offer support and guidance but I still slip in to frustration and negativity on occasion. Thank you for your pep talk!
What a beautiful piece! This is so inspirational, Kristy! I set my standards so high that sometimes I don't even start. I have begun to just promise myself to draw -something- every day instead of setting unrealistic expectations for myself, and it has really been improving my attitude towards my work and art in general. Now, my bad art days are few and far between. You're amazing. Thanks!
This video was wonderful. I've recently had a really bad last couple of days and felt totally unworthy. Watching your videos have really helped pull me back, and now I'm really excited to get back to it. Thank you.
I love watching you work. I remember a talk when you said every artist has to learn and practice to get to that level it changed my whole view. I loved this chat l create as a hobbie but get really down on what I do then I remind myself it's for fun. Thanks again. Your work is so beautiful, l love the colours, stunning.
Thanks Kirsty, for such good advice I watched this video and many others of yours some time ago when I was so unmotivated and self criticizing my art. But since then I've overcome that and creating more than ever no matter the outcome, because when it doesn't turn out exactly as expected I've learnt something from it. I love your art and keep up the good work.
Thanks *SO* much for this video. I've been struggling on drawing a photo for 2 days and spent over 12 hours doing 6 sketches of it and it's not even close to looking like it. Beautiful drawing by the way!
I love to see that you apparently make deliberate spot splashes with the brush. I get so tied up in keeping clean separation when working yet I truly adore to see the freedom of this style of art by others
This is why I really like your channel, and it is different from others, this kind of Talk, almost nobody do it.It is like you have a very good friend that understands you and have the same passion about drawing and painting.Thank you very much I appreciate it!
I just tore up a watercolor portrait from one of your tutorials on Patreon. I felt kind of angry at myself for attempting something & "failing" at it: especially since I've been happy w/the other artworks I've done from your tutorials. It's so true that that some days are better than others & to not beat yourself up if u can't get the "hang" of something right away. Just keep practicing..!👍
omg everything u mention is what im going thru, right now but i am my own motivation, there are people who are also jealous of you and won't ever encourage you is enough to make you question yourself. we gotta stay strong, keep Thrieving.
I'm so glad found your channel! You have such a great way of explaining things clearly, and especially with these kind of topics , you reassure people that they are not alone with their struggles as artists 😊 I'm someone who has never really been consistent throughout my life with my creative hobby, but I can see that I do possess (some) degree of talent when I really put my mind to it, and after watching this video, I feel more determined now to just try and draw *something* on the bad days, so I can hopefully produce even better work when I'm motivated! Thanks for the pep talk, and apologies for the essay....😶
Cute fox :) Basically good advice. I think the people who really stick with art are the people who are resilient to disappointment. You have to be the kind of person who comes back the next day everytime whether you felt the thrill of success or the bitterness of disappointment. Because to be good at art it has to be part of your lifestyle. When I learn anything it always starts with disappointment that I'm not quite getting it, and takes some downtime to rethink it and a good sleep to come back and try again with new ideas. All difficult skills require stubborness. Even spending too much time overworking something is a lesson you should learn the hard way, because you need to get a feel for what is too far. You can't worry about messing something up when you haven't done it many times. You won't worry when you have. Don't be the person who gets easily discouraged.
I'm a perfectionist. Not only with my art, but my crafting too. I had to work really hard to not over think. I've learned to be happy for every tiny improvement in my art, but sometimes it's really hard to finish if I can't see any improvement
Came back to watch this video because I keep being depressed over my art due to either always trying to be perfectionist and never be able to, leaving unfinished works, pressured over being in college and comparing my works to everyone around me (well, and obviously artists on social media)... and while watching, I got flashes of my little cousin showing me his drawings and how happy he was with all of them and I got like a click "wow, wish I was like him". So, even though I never commented before, thank you a lot for this video. I got it saved so I can always come back to watch it whenever I need a little push or just someone to tell me everything you're saying. Seriously, thank you so much ❤
A beautiful Red Panda, my favourite animal! Super video, I used to have blank paper syndrome. My teacher drummed in to me, “there’s no such thing as wrong in art!” That has been very helpful!
I love your channel. I got so depressed I destroyed my art and stopped drawing a few years ago. Only recently I started creating art again. Your channel really motivates me.
One of my tricks is to take pictures of my drawing in stages of progression. It's a different angle than the angle I worked in and it helps me see the drawing/artwork as others will see it; it's fun to look at the "slide show" of progression when the piece is done. Kirsty is so right about not looking at other artists in envy but rather learn from them. Find artists on TH-cam that are doing tutorials, not just showing off their work; they are the more successful YouTubbers because they are gaining an audience they're not just boasting their work. Thank you Kirsty!
Yep, been trough this and still having these problems, feelings, i try to do my best and i have learned to acsept if one of my drawings are not perfect, and i know it is about fun and passion, but for me it is hard to draw on a solid shedule, i often feel so tired because of my health problems, and that is the most frustrating thing for me personally, anyways, Love your Work, and Channel, Thankyou for inspiring :)
You are hardworking woman and I'm agreeing with your opinion. I feel so bad when I see some people dislike your artwork. I really don't know why they do it. Keep up the good work. Maybe one day I'll work with you.
I have watched this video 3 times now I am glad your so very encouraging! This is such a lovely piece and I am getting used to the white coming in later! In the past I struggled keeping white space/highlights even using masking fluid! Thank you for continuing to produce and post such wonderful works!
Thank you! I kept questioning myself about my art, why it's bad or anything else. Now I can accept myself and my art more by letting whatever I feel drawn and shown in my art ☺️
Ah thanks so much for making this video Kirsty..I’ve been feeling so down and irritable with myself and my artwork because I literally have all these bad habits 😔but you’re completely right, it’s okay to have failures just as much as the successes.
I had depression that would come and go for 6/7 years. The only time I would draw was art class, I related to every point in this video. It's been about a year and I feel so much better that I've started to draw again. Definitely going to take on board everything you said in this video! Thank you so much for this! 😁
I stopped drawing habitually for 7 years and it made me incredibly depressed. Blank page syndrome. When you are rusty, you struggle to feel good about your work. It happened to me many times. Then I'd go look at somebody else's art and compare their progress over time versus the lack of mine. It was so discouraging! Now I draw just to draw and it makes me happy, but my goal before the year ends is to work on my own artwork. Fingers crossed.
Hi ! I’m following you for several months and I’m really thankful for your generosity in your videos. They’re are very specific and very helpful to me. This one in particular in which you’re sharing principles to overcome negative view of ourselves. That’s quite spiritual ! Isn’t it? ☺️ I found out some similar to bible’s principles as well ....! What you’re explaining is also useful in different aspect of life: jobs, relationships, sports... Cause that’s touching, that is why I share my feeling on it. On the other hand, Sorry if it’s a misunderstanding, would some be disturbed by your accent ...? Im crazy about it !! Don’t change anything plz... not only that but you’re endowed with good qualities. Keep doing this ! Warm regards to you and your family. Bye
I relate to this on many levels. Picked up a pencil for the first time in 15 years and drew a piece for my sons room after watching your videos. I’m not happy with it however I now realise he’s going to love it :)
Excellent insights. I'm guilty of all the bad habits to some extent. I control myself. LOL! Also, my friends love my art. They help me on bad days. Stop me from deleting or throwing away work, I deem "Uh! Not good enough." On bad days, I look at stuff that inspires me, movies, my favorite TV shows or anime. When I look at art that I love, I resist comparing it to my own. Instead, I just take it all in with my eyes. Eventually, while I work to improve, what I look at will manifest in my art work. Thank you, Kirsty for this topic. Artists tend to be hypercritical of themselves. Yes, it helps us improve but it can also depress us. Being an artist, being creative is always a gift. Hard work but a gift none the less. Your Panda is spectacular. Love the colors.
Kerri Wolfton I appreciate you for making it and staying strong despite everything. It must be hard and you're wonderful for doing so much. I hope your life has beautiful things in store for you ♡
shy shy shy, bitches thanks- it’s not easy and it took time and I see my art as therapy as I enjoy being creative. I love what I do even if others might not. I create for myself.
Many artists have depression, including me, you have to go out and interact with people, trust me it really helps, Ive overcome it with this simple thing
Super video! Thank you for being inspiring for others. Too many times artist get caught up in how other people like their work, it is important like your own work even just a little bit! Especially with all of the artists on TH-cam who get more views likes etc. keep painting, keep striving and rest assured you have touched others with your art, thank you!
All of these are so true! I myself struggle with staying motivated! I do however keep a big album on my phone filled with inspiration references to look at whenever I do feel unmotivated!
I can relate to all of that. I am a perfectionist and feel like everything I do has to be good. This keeps me from experimenting more, and also makes me discouraged before I even start. The advent of social media does make it worse. When I see how fantastic some artists are, I think, why bother. Like you said, that artist is at that level because they worked hard to get there. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent advice. (And work) I often hold myself to a higher standard than I should. We need to remember to have fun. I believe we all have the characteristics of the Creator to create, something... anything. It’s put in us. When we find it, it feels right. It feels good. As always, we all appreciate the work you do and the encouragement. Thank you!
Yesterday I just loaded up water on small cut watercolor paper and had fun doing tie dye effects on them. I’m going to scan in to my computer and have fun in Photoshop Elements. I might do a Valentines theme in Elements.
Thanks a lot for your sweet words. I'm depressive and draw is one way to heal that. But i always think that's my "art" is not "unique", is less good than other's artists one..i always compare...Your video reassures and comes at the good time, thank you
This video has a lot of good points, I've had many things in life such as health that holds me back at times. I keep going though because art is my passion. :)
Great video as always ....I’ve agreed to every single word ...yesterday was a bad day for me as a Tattoo artist but after watching your video I’m trying to be motivated even though I’m not happy with my last artwork.😕
Thank you so much for so many great tips and insides of an artist’s mind! It is really great to feel that I am not alone in experiencing those thoughts!
Thank you very much for this. I can certainly relate to these points, especially feeling uninspired. I recently got a TON of different colored pencils, but suddenly felt like I had no idea what to draw or even which ones to start with! lol Luckily, I'm starting to come out of this funk. I find that when not knowing what to draw, it can be extremely helpful to just think of a random word, Google it, then try to draw whatever image pops up. It helps a lot and trying to copy the images gives me plenty of practice with shading, blending and highlighting. So I'm also improving my skills as well as finding inspiration. :) Thanks again for the helpful video. That painting is just fabulous!
I really needed to hear this at the moment. I have aaaaallllll of these pages from colouring books (I’m just a colourist at the moment) that I haven’t finished because I think it’s not looking very good etc etc.
I'm a major procrastinator with my art ! Im so inspired by others but I'm always waiting for motivation. I also start piece &, do not finish. I have like 5 things to work on. Thank you Kristy !@
thanks for saying all this. its so right. same happen to me. im learning to relax a little bit about being hard on myself. and learn that perfeccion doesnt exist. we just have to do the best as we can. and keep on going.. i stoped watching too many other artists work, because i couldnt help to compare myself. and somethines get depress for this. :D so thanks!!
Thanks for all the great tips young lady, you make everything look so easy. You are a great artist and you are a great teacher as well, again thanks for your time and tips
Oh dear I am guilty of at least 4 of those. This was a very informative and helpful video, as when you spend long hours painting alone it is easy to get depressed and think that you are the only one with confidence issues. I am never satisfied with any of my work and always want to do better and better. I think with art there are varying standards and there is a place for everyone. you just need to find your niche and stick with it. But definitely experiment as much as possible as it is the only way to grow.
I actually feel kind of envious of the level of skill you display but I have learned these things in your video and you are actually my motivation to get better or pick up the pencil. Btw I love the painting!
Honestly you helped me so much! I had never considered some things you talked about. ...To the point that I have stopped drawing...but I feel like keep going since you helped me locate my problem . you are awesome !
I can relate on every word you said. I been practicing realism lately but it doesn't go the way I want it to be. I'm struggling, even there's a reference or an art tutorial. Sometimes I feel that art isn't meant for me or I'm not good enough for this.
I try to only compare my art to my past art, not anyone else's art, and specifically not what I did yesterday but what I did a while ago. Over longer periods of time, it's a lot easier to see progress and improvement, and that's the name of the game: improvement. There's no such thing as perfection, but I can do better than I did a month ago, or a week ago, or a year ago.
Dear Kirsty! As you were talking about these 5 bad habbits that could make an artist feel depressed about their work, I thought to myself ups is she making a video about me??? But she do not know me in person so how could she know so much about me??? The strongest bad habits that I have are comparing myself too much to others and that I have a huge problem with self convidence and value how far I have come til this day! I made a lot of progress over the last two years, but I just see where I am not yet. I undervalue my art. That is a huge problem, especially for a student that is still learning. I am an acrylic artist and I watched a lot of professional acrylic artists videos that are been painting over 25 years or longer and they even say that not every painting they are doing is a masterpiece. In fact some say even that every 10th or 15th painting they do is a complete failure and that they just keep going cause it is a part of being an artist! I thank you for this video, Kristy! I will keep on working on my bad habbits! Be blessed and keep going! Lots of Love from me, Manuela from Germany, to you!
This was painfully relatable and I'm only 2 minutes in to the video. Haha. Great video! I'm sure this was a great eye opener and a big help for a lot of people including myself. :)
Again a topic that gets pretty much how I feel. First is that I often tooo self-critique, like sometimes I´m just like: nah this didn´t quite turn out that good and family and friends are like: But it looks really good! Or at first I´m happy how my drawing turns out and after it is finished I find here and there mistakes (which is kind of good, I know, because I can learn from them) but still. And the other thing is...I sometimes just feel down. Like I know numbers don´t show how good or bad you are as an artist, but it still can get to one in weak situations. COmparing yourself and asking what you do wrong is really bad, but I still catch myself thinking like that once in a while
You are right about art can work both ways I get frustrated with what I'm doing with my work as it is not what I'm seeing in my mind, but a couple a year's ago I could not do any art as my hands would cramp out after a few minutes so I would not be able to do any and I was having loads of ideas going on in my head until I had my operations .
Great video. Unfortunately I can relate to all that you say lol. I think I'm hard on myself as I know (or believe) that I can do better in my work. Peace
Always loved watercolour and enjoy i your videos. I intend to restart myself very soon as I never really had the access to all the techniques as easily before...so thankyou.#inspired
Great way to get away from getting down about your art or inspiration. Work with others. Try this. Get 2 to 5 people to join you in a project with no plans just blank paper and a pencil to start. First person puts down a few lines doesn't have to be anything. The next person looks at it and starts to add more lines and so on. Every time you look at it add something you feel should be in it. See how it evolves. Now you dont need to be in the same skill level it works with everyone there are no mistakes. From 2 to how ever old you get. You can have a 2year old a 17 yr old 30 yr old and a 80 yr old all in the same group and it still works.
It's even harder if you just have the depression beforehand and not only from your art.
Have you seen this? It touches on some of the things you said.

This video came at the right time
Lucy O'Connor that’s great! 💕
Kirsty Partridge Art really helpful 😊💖 and the painting was so good
This is so important to talk about! Thank you so much for touching this topic. I have given up art for more than ten years now and am slowly returning to it.
Steffi Wolf I agree and I am glad you are getting back into it 💕
I relate to every single one of these, I find it so hard to do any sort of art these days
I’m sorry to hear that 😔 I wish you lots of luck, I hope you can back to creating art soon 💕
That's a shame but I can relate.
Thanks for the advice/perspective. It's nice to hear that professionals struggle with these feelings as well.
You have such a great way of explaining things clearly, and especially with these kind of topics , you reassure people that they are not alone with their struggles as artists 😊
I'm someone who has never really been consistent throughout my life with my creative hobby, but I can see that I do possess (some) degree of talent when I really put my mind to it, and after watching this video, I feel more determined now to just try and draw *something* on the bad days, so I can hopefully produce even better work when I'm motivated!
Thanks for the pep talk, and apologies for the essay....😶
You have such a unique style in watercolors and you showcase their beauty in a spectacular way!
I watched this video years ago, and it's as helpful today as it was 4 years ago. Thanks, Kirsty!
Thank you and keep up the good work! I get how that could be frustrating for you, i wish you all the best of luck with your art 😊💕
You are hardworking woman and I'm agreeing with your opinion. I feel so bad when I see some people dislike your artwork. I really don't know why they do it. Keep up the good work. Maybe one day I'll work with you.
Thank you for being such an encourager... God bless!
I go through these damaging things on a constant basis, even though I know I shouldn't. This video is really helpful! Thank you for sharing ❤️
Bye
I was and I still am looking up to you and only thanks to your tips and so I got where I am. THANK YOU KIRSTY!
Sadly I do all of these from time to time. I really love your videos because it helps me improve my self as an artistist, technically and mentally.
I'll be depressed anyway because of the depression
shy shy shy, bitches I have depression too. I’ve learned over time to work though it because I live with a low level of it daily.
I create for myself.
same here...
Many artists have depression, including me, you have to go out and interact with people, trust me it really helps, Ive overcome it with this simple thing
LOVE your work!!! and Thank You for your words of wisdom!
Thank you!
I so needed to hear this today. Thank you!
Yesterday I just loaded up water on small cut watercolor paper and had fun doing tie dye effects on them. I’m going to scan in to my computer and have fun in Photoshop Elements. I might do a Valentines theme in Elements.
That sounds fun 😊💕
Not sure If I made a comment and can not find one so . . . Wonderful Red Panda! I love the greenery too!
Thanks a lot for your sweet words. I'm depressive and draw is one way to heal that. But i always think that's my "art" is not "unique", is less good than other's artists one..i always compare...Your video reassures and comes at the good time, thank you
You talk so much sense .And iv learnt so much from your videos.Your art work is impressive and thank you for sharing all your knowledge with us all
This video has a lot of good points, I've had many things in life such as health that holds me back at times. I keep going though because art is my passion. :)
Thanks Krissy, love your videos but most of all I love the inspiration that you have given me 💕
Great video as always ....I’ve agreed to every single word ...yesterday was a bad day for me as a Tattoo artist but after watching your video I’m trying to be motivated even though I’m not happy with my last artwork.😕
Thank you so much for so many great tips and insides of an artist’s mind! It is really great to feel that I am not alone in experiencing those thoughts!
Thank you very much for this. I can certainly relate to these points, especially feeling uninspired. I recently got a TON of different colored pencils, but suddenly felt like I had no idea what to draw or even which ones to start with! lol
Luckily, I'm starting to come out of this funk. :)
Thanks again for the helpful video. That painting is just fabulous!
I really needed to hear this at the moment. I have aaaaallllll of these pages from colouring books (I’m just a colourist at the moment) that I haven’t finished because I think it’s not looking very good etc etc.
So cute! I love the watercolor look!
Unfinished projects means it isn’t up for an opinion... I have so many unfinished projects. Thank you for your inspiring words. Your work is fab!
I'm a major procrastinator with my art ! Im so inspired by others but I'm always waiting for motivation. I also start piece &, do not finish. I have like 5 things to work on. Thank you Kristy !@
Your last two points really hit home for me... thanks for making this video, I really needed it. 😊
thanks for saying all this. its so right. same happen to me. im learning to relax a little bit about being hard on myself. and learn that perfeccion doesnt exist. we just have to do the best as we can. and keep on going.. i stoped watching too many other artists work, because i couldnt help to compare myself. and somethines get depress for this. :D so thanks!!
Thanks for all the great tips young lady, you make everything look so easy. You are a great artist and you are a great teacher as well, again thanks for your time and tips
OMG, this was so helpful! I am experiencing all five of these habits at the moment. Thank you for the inspiration and wise words!
That is so great to hear! Good luck with your art 😊💕
I had used to watch loads of videos from loads of youtubers before i watched one of yours!!! u r awesome!!! my invisible mentor on my art jouney!!!
You're always good at motivating others. Thanks
Giving advice and advertising your paintings. Smart lady!
This was painfully relatable and I'm only 2 minutes in to the video. Haha. Great video! I'm sure this was a great eye opener and a big help for a lot of people including myself. :)
Haha! Thank you and I really hope a lot of people find it helpful because it is such a relatable topic for so many people 💕
Gorgeous painting 💖
dimple rajput thank you 😊💕
Kirsty Partridge Art you're welcome 💖
“That doesn’t mean you’re a bad artist, that means you’re a human.” 😭😭😭😭
I am such a perfectionist that I stopped drawing for month because I was afraid I could never do something better than the drawing before
Again a topic that gets pretty much how I feel.
COmparing yourself and asking what you do wrong is really bad, but I still catch myself thinking like that once in a while
Totally relate to all five! Thank you for sharing!!! 😊.
Right video at right time... I got pissed off because of my last portrait. Will start a new sketch today , hopefully I get my desired result.
This is really helpfull. I do have most of those habits especially for the last habit. I always feel descouraged on me thinking that im not improving.
You are spot on but not jealousy .x
I'm one of the perfectionists and you are very right about all this. Thank you, I'll chill out.
These are very helpful points. Thank you for sharing this! 😍
I got this in my recommendations and I really needed to hear this today.
Thumbs up for your work and your passion! Wish u all the best
U are very remarkable
Be blessed kirsty
