Nice work James, really like the end result and also really like the livery on this BMW. Those tips in the second half of the video are great and will definitely help someone building the same kit. Will definitely refer to this video again if I decide to build it. Heard many complaints about this kit, so such tips will be life savers 👍 It's not fair that you replaced little James with a brush, but then I was happy later on when he showed again 😀😁 Well done my friend 👍👍
Your M6 turned out Fantastic James. Excellent work!!! I'm still waiting for the white one to come into my local hobby shop. Thanks for all the insight to the kit. I'll be watching
That is a beautiful kit, and you did a great job building it. In general, I don't really like curbside kits, but this kit is so detailed I don't really miss not having an engine. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for your kind words Michael. I actually prefer a nice curbside kit. Engine detailing is my least favorite part of model building. Someday I’ll show the insanity I used to add to my Mopar engines.
Your tips helped really to get a greta build! Thanks again! I did place the Playstation wing also upside down, to concentrated to get it the right way on, I gues...
This build came out gorgeous. Just bought one myself and am looking forward to building it. I hate to be that guy, but the only blemish on your build is that the Playstation marking on the spoiler is facing the wrong way. Should've been towards the front. Other than that, awesome work. Will be coming back to your vids when it's time to build mine.
very nice james considering a after market decal set for my m6 I know this livery comes on the kit iv the Falken one when I got it a good while back but i like the falken livery too but this looks awsome buddy really like the work u put in to it great job as always ,,,Keith 👍
I've noticed, and seen comments, that the duct work for the rear NACA ducts is not long enough or doesn't fit. Did you leave it alone? Or did you fix the issue, and how? Thanks as always!
For the NACA ducts, you can attach them to the chassis and they go up towards the body duct. It’s dark in the interior when the body is on so you can’t see that they don’t reach. Not noticeable at all.
Thank You for Your allways "easy to understand" Guidelines to build a certain model. Especially Your "Warning" against tricky steps in the assembly sequence; is very much appreciated. I have but one question, in this connection: How do You treat Your seat Belt Ends ? I am currently building Beemax´s Mitsubishi Starion, and allways have a hard time mounting the seatbelts through the photoetched parts; they get "fluffy" when handling them. Do You heat-melt the ends or do You give them a tiny drop of Cyanoacrylate or what ? This "step" in the building allways causing me some irritation. Thank You in advance from Denmark. Nils. ;-)
Hi Nils, thanks for watching. Here’s a tip for doing those seat belts. Cut a thin piece of Tamiya tape and put it on the end of the seat belt material. It will keep it more stiff and keep the ends from fraying when you fish it through the hole. It isn’t easy but easier.
James, Thank You for taking Your time to answer me 👍. I am sure this will solve the problem. When I have seen all Your BMW GT3 videos; I think I have the courage to start building this model as well.
Yeeewww! Nice. Just ordered mine today as well. Sadly, I'm gonna be that guy right now though... having followed different endurance racing series (including the Nurburgring 24 Hour Series which included this car) for 30+ years, I'm gonna be a stickler for details. The 2020 Walkenhorst BMW M6 GT3 had a semi-gloss/satin/matte finish (but idk if that's possible on a car model with sponsor decals); and I hate to point this out, but the PlayStation logo on the wing is upside down 😕 You'll school me far away in building models (as noticed by my "dumb questions"), but I just wanted to give a little help if possible for future reference. Hope I haven't come across negatively, my apologies if so. Still, I envy your build 🙌🏼
No worries at all. I did contemplate putting a matte finish on the model but decided at the last moment that I wanted a shiny finish instead. You are the first to point out my blunder on the upside down decal too. I have yet to build a perfect model in 25 years. 🤓
Another interesting question EPX. The blue would be satin but the livery decals would be glossy because they are a wrap. To prevent silvering of the decals film by putting a shiny decal on a flat coated body you would have to gloss the body, apply the decals. Mask the parts to remain gloss, apply the satin then live with the step created by the layers. So either live with shiny or satin everything.
@@ScaleModelExperiment Damn. Guess you went the best route, and good thing I asked. I would have ended up doing satin over everything and possibly ruined it. Another bullet dodged, thanks! Random question here, and hopefully my last to bother you with, but are you located in Florida? Just asking because in your profile/monologue shots, there's the bright, sunny background with what look like palm trees. I'm in West Palm Beach, FL myself 👍🏼
Hi Peter, the seat belts came in the detail up set I bought with the kit. My seat belts were black ribbon. I appreciate you watching the video and commenting 😀

Thanks Mike, it really is a nice kit if you make the corrections I suggested. If I see another livery I like I may do another one.

What a beauty! I also want to built this and heard there are many issues with it, I think your video will be of great help!
My pleasure Onno, I hope that your project goes smoothly. Just don’t install your PlayStation decal on the wing upside down like it did 😜
@@ScaleModelExperiment Haha, I did read it 😅

@@OnnoWeeda I’m so glad to have helped you build yours. The spoiler decal is easy to make a mistake. I’m sure it’s still a beauty!
Great work as always and thanks for the video. I'm going to have to pick this kit up for sure!
Thank you so much 😁 it really is a nice kit if you take heed of the things I pointed out. I look forward to seeing yours.
