    Makes me wish i was a biker. Great weather clear roads and carefree. That must be a wonderful feeling and a great way to get around and see the country.

    Great riding country which I know well (wife is from Halifax although I don't hold that against her..lol).
    Some of the best riding roads in the country, another area that I must get back to on two wheels.
    Thanks for posting this,

    Love this video, born, grew up and still live within 2 miles of Bolton Bridge on the A59 and you had to ride 6 hours to see its beauty. Sunshine cops with speed cameras most weekends on the A59 from Harrogate, Once counted four in one 20 minute journey.

    Coming out from Australia in May for the first time. Can’t wait to drive (yes I know can’t bring my GS with me), after seeing your old footage of the dales. Thanks for such fantastic camera footage. Colour and clarity are great.

    I'm a lancashire man and venture into the dales regularly it really is Gods country . Also if you like fish and chips then Yorkshire is the county to be in . With regard to RAF Menwith Hill , it is a listening station similar to the GCHQ facility in Cheltenham , Gloucs.

    There is so much to explore in the Dales, I'm lucky, I can blast over for a day out from here in County Durham. The Pennines, Lake District, Borders Northumberland and Yorkshire Moors are all within easy reach for me. There's so much to explore, you could even have some great fun on the little Honda as there's miles and miles of offroad riding too. Swaledale is my favourite, and the routes over the tops to Askrigg and Hawes. Dentdale is a delight too. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the trip.
    Some of the best beer in the world too! :-)

      I guess this video proves why people call it "God's own country", absolutely stunning. The sad part is, all my family are from County Durham (just outside Darlington) but I haven't been in over 20 years. I really should pack a bag on the Scrambler and make a pilgrimage someday.

    • @petergoddard1960
      @petergoddard1960 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ben 1022 Hey Ben, I'll be getting my Bonneville in the spring so let me know if you're heading up this way eh? Be good to show you the sights and have a blast!

    • @Ben10twentytwo
      @Ben10twentytwo 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +pgod1960 good choice sir, you won't be disappointed with a bonnie they're a real pleasure to own and ride. What are getting, a T100 or a Mag wheel?If I ever get my act together and make it up to your neck of the woods, I'll let you know. A couple of Hinkley twins blasting through the Yorkshire countryside sounds great.

    • @petergoddard1960
      @petergoddard1960 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ben 1022 I'm going for the T100 Black edition in all likelihood, but a T100 in any event. That is unless I get swayed by a Scrambler (they are lovely), I was watching some of your videos just a day or so ago and I was so tempted! Might just be a little tall for me (although dropping the suspension would always be possible). I just think the Bonnie offers me more opportunity for a bit of light touring with a tent. You can't whack the sound of a couple of Trumpets on the go! I've already subbed you and I'll keep you posted. I've got a bit of trouble with the old ticker at he moment and waiting to see if I need an op, which is delaying my plans a little. But thoughts of the new bike and a new workshop too are keeping me going!!
      Cheers
      Peter

    A great video, it's nice to see a route I regularly take to work and back (yes I'm a lucky man). Only word of caution I would add would be to anyone visiting the Dales is watch out for camera vans. North Yorkshire has no fixed camera sites (to date), though West Yorkshire has plenty. The North Yorkshire Police do publish the roads where their vans operate (they have at least 6) but of course you don't know where and when they'll be. However experience has shown they tend to ignore the ones like passed Bolton Abbey - too narrow and you'll be hard pressed to do above 60 anyway, but they will be on the A59 between Harrogate and Skipton (yes Blubberhouses is a good spot) or similar type roads and their camera's can see for over 200 meters so they see you before you see them. They also have a plain bike (last time I saw it it was a Silver Yamaha FJR). But its a lovely place to ride, just ride safe :-)

    Hello again MF, lovely videos of the Dales, I know the area very well as an ex-caravaner and still very keen photographer, so your next Dales ride must be over the Buttertubbs pass and then a circular tour taking in Richmond Castle. regards, Colin.
