International F-104 Society - The Vikings - Starfighter demonstration team

This video was composed by the Vikings Video Team in 1987 and tells the story of the Vikings Demonstration team during the eighties till their final demonstration with the F-104G Starfighter.

Ich war zu der Zeit der "Vikings" in Tarp/Eggebek und muß sagen: Das Flugzeug fasziniert auch heute noch mit seiner Geschwindigkeit und Eleganz. -Trotz der Schwächen bei Entwicklung und Fehlern bei der Beschaffung. Die Piloten waren absolute Könner!

unfortunately they were disbanded when the Mirage 2000N retired in 2016.

The Couteau Delta was born 2 years ago to replace the previous Ramex Delta tactical display team composed of two Mirage 2000N jets. During the last two aerobatic seasons it has performed in major national and international airshow.

I wonder why the USAF didn't use F-104 for the Thunderbirds. I heard the F-4's were not great.
