I don't see this as cheating at all. It's pretty common to use a distortion plugin on vocals to make them harsher. If people call this "poser scrraming" they need to grow the fuck up. It's music. It's about the end result. If the song sounds good, then it is good. Great video :)

Thanks. I agree with you and at least I didn't use of vocoder or autotune. Also, I'm far too old to be a poser anyway, screaming or not. 😊

Good luck and I hope this helps. I find the vocals especially difficult as I'm not good at screaming without it going high pitches as opposed to sounding growly.

I've done vocals in a similar way in the past, it's more than fine in my opinion. thank you for the video! subbed

Cool, thank you! Being unable to do black metal vocals has been holding me back - not to mention my two note range 😉 - so hopefully this works.

As a black metal (more death metal) musician, I salute your technique. Really cool way to do the best you can with what you have! 🤘

Thanks very much! I'm still trying to learn how to "do" and "make" black metal (it usually turns out goth), so feedback like yours is always welcome.

If you cant do vocals, then do not do that if you dont want be a poser ''vocalist''.

Trying to do suitable vocals to the music I make is difficult, especially as a woman without a symphonic style voice. I have tried many times and failed. This is a way around it, and if that makes me a "poser vocalist" then so be it. It would be probably better to wait and see what it sounds like within the context of the song rather than judging on the isolated excerpts in this video.

@@joolz666 You did a fine job Joolz. You can't scream, but you found a way around that. That's kvlt in my book, not poser. Plus, the creepy whispered vibe that this technique produces goes quite well with the sound you're going for!

@@joolz666 I can do black metal vocals pretty well, but on my ambient project, I do it pretty much as you do, although I do not use a computer at all. If I add a lot of reverb and a bit of delay on track, put some sweater on the microphone and "sing" as you do, it may create a really interesting sound of this deaf screaming at a very long range. Keep it up and don't listen to these poser-occusators, since the real posers and parasites are them, but not the creators of at least something. It is always a pleasure to go with you through this mysterious and interesting art journey, so keep it up and know that many different people enjoy your content!
