Test No. 2 for my 4-day old KALA Solid Mahogany Fretless U-BASS. I'm playing the theme of the classic Victor Feldman tune SEVEN STEPS TO HEAVEN made famous by Miles Davis.
Nice, Seven Steps to Heaven, love that tune. I wanted to see if these were loud enough to play over tv volume, and this convinced me- I’m ordering one soon
I've never heard of a U-Bass before... Maybe I might pick it up some day. Awesome sound, it sounds just like an upright bass! Keep up the awesome uke playing!! 😀
+Manolo Quiason Thanks for the prompt reply:) I'm very close to getting this solid body Mahogany. Now that I know it has a truss rod is a relief:) (No pun intended). Hopefully it will be worth the extra 150.00 over the less expensive exotic mahogany which seems be a favorite and gets very good reviews. I've never played a fretless but am leaning very heavily toward getting it over a fretted. Seems to make more sense:) Thx again for the reply back!

Glad to be of help. Enjoy your bass!

What a great looking instrument
I bought the Oscar Schmidt Uke bass. Half the price, same great sound. (I also changed the strings to the Kala brand, because they are better)
0:40 me encanta cuando hace ese mini slap y luego prosigue con esa parte jaja
gracias por apreciar!
@@Jacomacca De nada jeje, las cuerdas de que material son?
@@alezito9489 Polyurethane rubber
I got a Caramel U-bass for Christmas last year, but it doesn't sound as good as yours because it has frets.
It sounds better than a acousitc bass
That's a cute little bass. Is it loud enough to jam with a guitar without amplification?
is loud enough for practice but will need amplification to enjoy jamming with a guitar. Thanks for viewing.
And is it loud enough to play on a small setting with an acoustoc guitar?

Wow!
closest sound to double bass you'll get…
@You Care Too Much it's good my hadphones are closer to my ears than that... also that you can plug it to an amp
Just curious if these little U basses have a truss rod?
+Lori A Yes. it's accessed from the soundhole side.

Thanks to the fretless fingerboard, it doesn't sound as quiet when played acoustically.
Yes, just like an upright.
@@manoloquiason8958 I like that
unplugged this is? louder than I thought it would be 😎
Yes, it's acoustic and loud enough for practice and very small jam but so boomy when plugged in!👍
what notes are the strings tuned to? is it just the standard bass tuning of EADG or is it weird like a ukuleles tuning?
its standart bass usually
Sounds awful.
s2sadewe sounds like a bad mic, not a bad instrument.
