Actually, they are the new prowlers. If there is a big strike, the EA-18G Growlers are the best jammers.The F-35 can only defend itself, but the growlers can jam radars and destroy them. Some F-18 super hornets carry personal jammers also, just like Air Force F-15EX and F-15E do.
