Thank you so much Eddie. You changed my life. My adventure is very similar with you. At the first time I saw your video, I'm an LSI design engineer with a very low salary in tech industry. After watching your videos and trying to learn from the open-source community, I'll get a job as DevOps engineer at the beginning of August with a salary that equals to triple times my current salary. Now, I'm the main and the only income of my 6-person family at the sophisticated situation in my country. I've been learning more to get a remote job in data science. So far, I've been learning so many skills from you. This video is really awesome. Thank you so much again, Eddie.
OMG this comment has made my day!! Thank you so much for taking the time to reply with such details. It makes me so happy to hear about your success. Please keep us posted on your journey and maybe in the future we can do a collaboration :)
i m just getting started with opensource . i am glad i got to know about this in my early years i am still in my first year of college :) joined your community already looking for new oppurties and learning in public !!
Hey Eddie, I started the open-source in august, when I finally graduated from Computer Science and make few contributions to Girl Script Summer of Code projects. And I start following Kunal Kushwaha, his community and start learning, sharing. Then in one collaboration of yours with Kunal, I found your community and it's great to work in the future. But sometimes I regret that why I started so late, almost after 4 years I start doing contributions and looking to make more contibution.
Hi Sumit, I also found open source way too late, right now I am a full time professional is it possible for me to contribute and start with open source with full time job?

Is open sourcing restricted to only the field of #softwaredevelopment ?, or is there any chance where we can contribute in other fields like #DataScience, #Cybersecurity, #Blockchain, etc, unable to find clarity on this...if any of you know please reply!

Great work! It is never too late! It is better to start late, than never to start. Keep going, you are doing great 💪

Great video!
Thank you Akhilesh for the great feedback! Glad you enjoyed the video.
But Open Source developers income comes only from donations. That's not sustainable. People don't pay for free stuff
I have been doing open-source for years, but I can't live from doing that. I need to code for corporations (and I _do_ code for corporations). 😥
More companies are going open source and also giving month to open source projects - things are changing
